Backward light missing in cwm. And initial start up - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all,
I am concerning my 'backward' light at the bottom of the device doesn't turn on in cwm recovery and the initial startup. (only the menu light turns on )
Yet it does when the system has started and loaded
Can someone fix this issue and I am a newbie using Ics stunner 1.4.19
thx in advance

Is that one tiny thing bugging you so much ?
Well, Let me start my recovery to check what I have got.
Hey, Good News Fella, Me Neither.
So the probability that we got Note from the same shop, used same flashing zips and used same technique stands to zero. So I mean to say, that's something universal

O it's good to learn this is universal
But I doubt if there is any solution to fix it: p

[Q] OFFICIAL STOCK ICS PROBLEMS for note!??

Maybe its just me!!! but I find that after updating to ICS 4.0.3 on note the ram usage is always quite high, as always around 600-700. does anyone else have this problem ?
Another problem i find is the lag in the camera? like when you take a picture and then scroll through picture you've taken, after press the back key and it lags for a while before returning to home screen..
PLease say it isnt just me
p.s Ive got the TGY(hong kong) version of ICS officially from kies!!
+1 i oso got problem is the ram...it is very high...higher than gingerbread...any suggestion??
Suggestion:
go to a cm9 build ROM with a "safe" kernel as well.

Just a word of warning....a factory reset or any kind of wipe could hard brick your device on official samsung roms.
Don't wipe!! It could trigger the eMMC bug and possibly brick your phone if you try to flash anything. The best advice is to flash a safe gb rom using pc odin and wait until a solution comes out.

I presume that your screen was off during much of this time? I am using the LPY build and use my note for prolonged book reading. With the screen on auto brightness I am lucky to get 6.5 hours with all other data services running.

I thought brick problems was caused by cwm wipes, i dont think.the emmc problem is being experienced by those of us using stock.only? ?? I have looked at quite a few threads and it appears to me only people who root get the issue may be wrong but i peesoannly think.stock only should be safe

I am having the same problem....no solutions yet. Like others have mentioned, DON'T WIPE!! ask me how I know? lol
I deleted ICS Browser. That helped quite a bit.

I think likewise, there is one case of bricking using the wipe in stock recovery (XXLPY if I didn't remember wrongly), but the person has rooted his phone using Dr Ketan method (temp cwm + su-busybox installer), so is still not a pure official stock rom imo.
I just finally upgraded to official ICS and using LP9...
So far everything is buttery smooth.
Just a question.. Is doing a factory reset (under Backup & Reset) the same as wiping thru the Recovery Mode?

Beg to differ.. On official ics upon factory reset its unlikely that one would hard brick the phone...

Thanks for the reply. Sorry which stock romantic are you running? If it is one of the post LPY builds I may flash back to stock GB and then try it out. Thanks!

Have you tried flashing with ODIN? It should wipe your phone clean.
Could be you flashed a different phones ROM on your device.
Try wiping data and flashing another ROM(be sure it is for your phone).

If that was the case it would give him a nice bootloop or brick, meanwhile it works.. somewhat ;]

Do a factory reset, install the standard rom and check if that fixes the problem. Calling a kernel crap with no justification is not going to help you get some help from the community.
If you dont like the development done by some of these developers who are basically providing a service literally free, you acknowledge, try and move on if you dont like. Dont throw things you cannot pick up.
It appears to me you screwed up your mobile flashing rom's and Kernel with no real intelligence on identifying the problem or fixing the same.
Try resetting your mobile to your standard set up and that should fix your radio issues.
so what kernel are u on now?

Hopefully Philz kernel will sort out the problem. Its is pure stock with only brickbug removed (+advanced recovery) so there wont be any bugs that are sometimes found in custom kernels. Needless to say, it is 100% safe for wiping and flashing:thumbup:

Yeah, thats what i did again and again...
Now i found a recovery thats working properly. Didn't want to have the touch version, but so what. Don't have to use the touch, it also works with the hardware volume keys.
But anyway thanks for your hint, Mate.
Best regards

[Q] phone is ded

*EDIT* i successfully fixed my phone, the problem has now been resolved, thank you for those who responded and sorry for those who thought they wasted their time
I have a white Galaxy Ace, and tried doing the usual (installing better software=cyanogen) but because I'm not the brightest bulb in the packet i somehow FUBAR'd the phone, so trying to do anything through the menu when you use the buttons to choose options (the part where you can format and do other stuff) will NOT work, and the phone freezes at the screen showing the phone model version, if anyone has any idea on how to fix it without paying le moneys, id be much appreciative
Thanks to whoever answers
Flash stock via odin. Use search to know how to do this. There are like a million guides for it.
