I rooted my Bell HTC Raider recently. Few days back I received notification to update to Android 4.o. After downloading the file, the phone restarts to update. However once it starts the phone does not get updated. The screen with the Android logo next to a triangle. Nothing happens after that.
I have to restart my phone to get back to the normal operating mode. Can someone guide whats wrong with this and how can I update to Android 4.0 ?
Thanks.
Are you using the stock kernel/rom? Flash to stock or try to RUU your device back to stock, and then upgrade.

I've recently gotten a Unlocked Bell (but Unrooted!) IS with Froyo on it.
I check the system software update and the gingerbread update is available for download and whatnot.
I download it and click to install but it stops after a restart on the bootloader screen where I see the install package cannot open. (You know the screen with the blue android and exclamation mark)
Is it REQUIRED that I need to root the IS to update the phone to 2.3?
I'm under Telus btw.

Thanks

Since your IncS is carrier unlocked, you are trying to load a Bell GB update on the phone and I bet it is checking to see if the phone has a Bell CID (which it doesn't since you have unlocked it).
You would be better off running AlphaRevX Revolutionary to S-OFF and install ClockworkMod recovery. After that process you would then be able to install a rooted version of the IncS WWE Gingerbread ROM and lose all of the Bell bloatware.
I'm just very unsure about rooting IS 'cause it says its still in the beta stages so, I'm trying to optimize my phone as much as it's able before considering rooting (which I'm sure everyone is trying to).
Also not sure if anything will go wrong and such 'cause it's in beta
Had the Desire before and everything was sure 100% hence.
For some reason I just cannot get it to install. I was unlocked and rooted with custom recovery but I've gone back to stock recovery, unrooted and relocked the bootloader and even done a full factory reset. I've tried to download the OTA 4.2.2 update multiple times but each and every time the update hangs at around 35-40% on the stock recovery screen.
My HTC One is from O2 UK but is unbranded and originally had a generic International ROM on it.
Any ideas how I can remedy this?
Same with me.... I did s off and ran the RUU for my phone.... All was well and ota was done successfully..... Bcoz even u put stock recovery and stuff, there are few files missing / changed, which prevent the ota to happen...

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if someone can help me please. I attempted to root my phone a few months back, not knowing it can't be done on HBOOT 1.54 so ended up flashing Clockwork Mod recovery to the phone (now says TAMPERED)
I got the alert come through to my phone when 4.3 became available, but when downloading it fine, it won't install. It boots into CW recovery and an error saying 'operation aborted' appears very quickly and the phone reboots back into how it was originally before downloading the update.
Does anyone know why this is? Ideally, i'd like to scrap the CWmod and get back to how it was before (like factory etc)
I also can't seem to get my desktop to recognise my phone, I think it's a driver issue, does anyone have drivers for Windows 8?
I have a UK Vodafone contract HTC One.
Please can someone help!
Thanks
You need stock recovery to flash OTA.
You can probably S-Off with rumrunner.
Hey,
So I was going to update my Phone to 4.4 KitKat.. This is a AT&T Phone. I've tried to update the phone twice through the check for updates section on the phone and both time it failed with this error message.
The phone was previously rooted and then the rooting was broken by an AT&T update so although I still get the Custom message when the phone boots up it's not rooted currently.. Do I have to roll this phone back to a unrooted version of the Firmware before I can do the update? If so can someone point me in a direction for instructions on doing that?
Thanks
Yes, from what I understand you have to go back to stock, or flash a leak.
Hello,
Let me start by just saying that I'm very new to the whole rooting and android development scene and I'm.sorry in advance if this question is noobish. Anyway I have an at&t HTC one m7 that I unlocked the bootloader on, flashed twrp and rooted. The device was working fine no issues ,recently there was an ota update that my brother got for his all stock m7. So I flashed an img of the stock recovery and relocked the bootloader in hopes of having the update install. I know it would remove my root access but I didn't mind that .
Anyway now my device is telling me there is no more ota updates available.
This is odd because I tried to do the update before changing anything back a nd it got stuck when twrp launched .so there is an update available.
Is this normal or is something wrong? thanks!
Edit, i cant words
