(Q) Samsung ICS - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I tried team sgsics rom a while back (rc4.2) and I loves it accept for the lack of TW features and poor battery life I really want a ICS ROM but not if it means poor battery life and no TW so I was wondering is there a rom that resembles the Samsung stock rom with tw and good battery life? Maybe a port from another galaxy phone that has ICS officially?

The best kernel and rom

Hi guys,
I am new here and need your opinion.
Which rom and kernel are the best for GNote..for battery life?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
For my opinion its a little bit early for custom rom and kernel.New phone so new stuff for the devs and a lot of tests for them.
I tried some custom rom but for now im on latest root stock, deleting lot of uselles apps, ics animation and battery% (you can find in theme's thread) and everything is fine for me.
We all must be patience...
Yeah..
Tnx man.

Thanks
Try ICS you will be amazed for example Tiramisu or Slim ICS.

Dont really see the point in ICS yet as ive no need for it plus you get better battery life with 2.3.
Well I'm not so sure about the battery life.
Try latest value pack 2.3.6 (stock Samsung latest).
Or look at the development forum, there are quite new gb roms also

If you want a pure stock ics, try a XXLRT. The german version, ,you can download it from sammobile.com . And flash it through PC-odin. For me it is the most smooth and stable stock ics rom. I have used it for about 3months without any problems or FC.

Thank you mate will give it a shot
Although i flashed yesterday a 4.0.4 RocketRom v12 i advice you to try it its XXLRK very smooth very fast and tell me if you try it which is faster
Rocketrom or XXLRT
Thnx again mate

You have to know, that the battery save mode slows your phone. I try it o my stock XXLRK, and the result is that the phone is very laggy and slow.
Some people us it for longer battery life, but the price is a slow phone.

The base of RocketRom v12 is XXLRT, not XXLRK. RocketRom v12 is a great custom rom, with a lot of nice features. So it is a better choice than a stock rom if you want all nice features out of the box.
But I thought you wanted a pure stock ics rom
If you ask me which is faster My favorites 3 is:
3. Stock XXLRT - good stock rom, if you want it pure stock (used it for a long time)
2. Alliance Final XXLRT - great custom rom, if you prefer ICS, try it with HC 4.3b kernel, rock solid, and very smooth (used it since realeased, until the JB leaks become usable for daily use)
1. Alliance XXLSC beta1.1 - best custom JB rom, if you like JB. Working without any problems since it is realesed, with all fancy suff available from JB, and it is buttery smooth. (i liked it, because it has a option to flash it pure lite, without any samsung app, after flashing you can choose which one you want it back. It feels like you have your own custom rom. And it is just perfect)
Ultimate jb rom v5.1
I know you said ics but try this one too
It will change your mind

LRK is the baseband
The ics installed is LR8
this is the middle eastern and pakistan release. Its so much better, it beats most of the customs. Its the last releases so mostly fixed.

Extracting Kernels....

Hi to everyone...
Can I extract a kernel and Cook/flash it with other rom so as to extend battery life of second rom...
I luv layout of one rom.... and battery life of another.. can I merge the two to have the best one....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Any ways to work out this idea....?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Just port the rom you like to the rom with the kernel easy to do there is a few threads on here and a few youtube videos or download the kernel seperate and flash it
Sent from my GT-S5830
Kernel=boot.img
Take boot.img from the 'good battery life one' and replace the one in the 'good looks' one
However, take care as to not take a CM kernel and put it in a stock kernel. If you do that, your device will get bricked as cm kernels aren't compatible with stock kernels.
Which are these roms you are talking about?
le random signature o.o
Thanks...
I like Interface of AceSIII by Winxuser and battery life touchwiz v1.0 by skywalker.

Samsung galaxy note n7000 rooting

Hiya everyone I'm not exactly new to all the rooting n that but would like some advice my galaxy note is abit slow n a bit lag n thinking of rooting it if I do root it what could I do to fix all the lag or speed things up thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Remove unwanted bloat ware and install some better performance kernel like coh.
Different roms, different kernels, and if you can do with all the Samsung crap you can flash aosp roms like cm and p.a.c and slim bean and aokp and even omni Rom now which is still new n7000 but still works pretty good. Aosp will give better performance and battery life and there are many variations of it 2.3 4.0 4.1 4.2 4.3 and even 4.4 (experimental) with root so much is possible
