1. Afraid I can't comment on this. I know there is Linux support but unsure of what you mean by loop devices, i'm sure someone else will be able to help.
2. Personally my favourites are the jb roms specifically paranoid android or cm10. I'm currently on cm10 which is very stable. I love the flexibility of paranoid android though as you can set custom dpi's per app which is genius, but there are still a few bugs present.

Hello
Is this the latest one..I got it via OTA a few weeks back. There are no custom roms for this version. This takes up more ram too around 130-140 is only available..
Has samsung unlocked the full potential of this gpu..videocore 4..beacuse many games that work on galaxy ace dont work on this..This was supposed to be an upgrade but samsung gives this cheap galaxy y hardware and advertise it as ace i and cheat people

Nahh...i dont think they have unlocked its full potential.....and without a seprate gpu u cant ask for performance matching the previous Ace (I think so).....and now their focus is on devices supporting ice cream sandwich....so i m not even expecting anythng from them...but u never know...miracles do happen
P.S. :- Video recording still sucks on S5830i

No..It's in alpha or development stage..Don't expect it anytime soon

yeah i downloaded this update, didn't feel much change. At each update they write "Improved Stability"... I didn't knew cyanogenmod was in development for s5830i, is it?
As for video recording, there is an app at google play named lgcamera, camera doesn't change much(except for few effects), the in that u can change bitrate of video recording and increase fps to 30! there is a option to change resolution but i messes up colors!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera&hl=en
XXLF4
Kies says that another new firmware is available.. its XXLF4..does anyone knows about it?
are there any improvements? i mean noticable one..?!
I am unable to update via OTA (0.66 mb).
I can download the update but while installing, it stops at 26% and reboots and says that 'Firmware update failed, Try using Samsung Kies or visit a Samsung Service Centre'
What could be the reason?
Note: My phone is rooted, but i unrooted it before trying to update.
Rooting is not the reason
May be your net connection is laggy

CWM Touch Recovery for Galaxy Ace

I'm currently running CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6 on my Galaxy Ace. I've been warned away from using ROM Manager by basically everybody. But I want to install CWM Touch Recovery on my Ace, and ROM Manager seems to be the only way to do that.
First, is CWM Touch Recovery compatible with the Galaxy Ace?
Second, has ROM Manager improved? I bricked an Ace last February trying to flash CWM Recovery (it didn't have the my model listed). Current version is 5.0.0.8. Can I use it to safely flash CWM Touch Recovery (assuming Touch Recovery is compatible with Galaxy Ace?
Third, is there any place I can get CWM Touch Recovery for the Galaxy Ace without using ROM Manager?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dude as you have said. You have been warned by everybody for using rom manager. But if you still insist on using it, feel free. Its your choice! I think there is already a cwm touch recovery for ace. Search in ace development section. But I think its buggy and discontinued.

I'm not disagreeing with you; ask the audience usually works. But everything I'm seeing telling me not to use ROM Manager is almost a year old (fall 2011 or earlier), and this is a very recent version of ROM Manager that recognizes my phone, where all the older versions didn't.
Is there anyone who has used ROM Manager 5.0.0.6 or 5.0.0.8 on their Galaxy Ace? If so, please let me know how it went, good or bad.

But if you still want to use it,go ahead,Use it,brick your device. If you want to mess your phone up,thats fine with us.Just please don't come crying here telling that you messed your phone up by using Rom manager,if you refuse to hear what people say,its your problem.
Rom Manager is a touch and go thingy for SGA,it works sometimes, sometimes doesn't.

Can you not install it from Google Play? If you can't, then it most probably will not work on your device.
Yes I cannot install it because the current version available in google store isn't supported by my phone, because of the rom I guess.so I was looking for an older version apk compatible with my current rom.

If you are interested in installing the latest version of Instagram, I suggest you upgrade to CM 9 or above. Are you using Ace S5830 or S5830i? Anyway I tried searching for Gingerbread compatible version and found this (haven't personally tried it),
Instagram 1.1.0 apk for Android
Do post the result. Hope I Helped
i tried it and as for other older versions i have tested,it gives me the following message
''error your version of instagram is out of date.please upgrade your app to log in to instagram''
So i guess i have to try a more recently released custom rom.
do you have any suggestions?i have tried a lot of them and the one i have now is the most reliable with no problems, that's why i keep searching for an instagram apk compatible.
My device is Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 or just Cooper
anyway,thanks.

Thankfully I also use Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. I was a bit confused when you posted this question in the S5830i Q/A section. Personally, I suggest you use the CM9 by Rhievaldo. You can also try the other version CM9 and above roms and be a judge yourself. Here is the link to all the custom roms for Ace S5830,

Hope I Helped
P.S. Reported FM to move this to right section.

CWM 5 is more than enough with CM 7, CM 9 and CM 10 roms. CWM 6 should only be used if you want to go for CM 11 (KitKat) roms. But even in CM 11 roms, there is one rom (KitKat for All) that works quite well with CWM 5. So you are good to go with the recovery you have know. Make sure to follow the installation instructions specified in the thread. Good Luck
i've just installed it.everything looks to work fine.
i've tested instagram,it won't leave me to upload a picture but at least i can browse through the app.
have you tested instagram on your device?

No, I don't use Instagram on Ace. It could be a RAM problem though
so what do you suggest to do?i pressed the home button in order to close any other running programs but the problem insists:silly:

You can use Greenify to hibernate other unnecessary apps that runs in the background. You can save some RAM that way.

I have used Xposed on other devices, but never on this one. It will take a bit of searching and reading. I am willing to help with this but I will need more information.
What version of bootloader is installed on your Captivate?
Is your Captivate rooted?
What rom is installed on your Captivate?
If the ROM is not a stock ROM, is it based on Touchwiz, CM, AOSP, or what?

So far I have found that you must be on at least an ICS Rom. You said you were on KitKat, so no worries there. But, the ROM must be Halo enabled. I see that Dirty Unicorns and CM do, I don't know which others do.
Well, when I did superuser on Android 2.3.5, will install the "Corn kernel" and that it will install CM11 The boot loader will not touch anything, I think. The terminal has superuser, I will install Cyanogenmod 11 (Nigthy 13/12/2015) and one that you have installed, nothing more.
