For my own, OC to 844 Mhz and all strategies are working.

no bugs

is there any other "user review" about this cm7 version?... those who already used it... and that would be a great reference if i'm going to flash this Rom or not...

I'm currently using CM7 7.2.0 RC3 and there are bugs of course on it.
You must visit this link for you to further understand the the benefits/bugs of using that ROM.
In my opinion, it's really fast and stable.
You can already overclocked the performance of your CPU with CM7 7.2.0 RC3, for me, 748MHz is the stable Max. CPU Frequency and you must tick Set on Boot for you to Restore CPU Settings on Boot.
DSP Manager is a known bug here, try to flash this ROM if you don't have and tweak its Phone Speaker Settings, apply the changes and try to play a music file, you might hear a broken sound on your phone speaker.
But Using DSP Manager on Headset is really good.
Bugs will produce on a case to case basis, for example, once you installed different application(s) which is not compatible with this ROM or your SGM, how you install or use such application might show some bugs.
Just flash this ROM and don't afraid to try tweaking it, it's worth giving a try

I used it for 2 days ..not bad
DON'T FORGET TO HIT THANKS IF IT IS USEFUL

link anyone?
edit:found it already

You need to flash a pershoot kernel that has a ramdisk image before you may flash this on Touchwiz (last one was posted here http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2160). Flash the 071311 kernel, then flash this on top, should work.
Working here on TouchWiz. However, im not getting the very high quadrants scores. Best I go so far was 1800. Possibly a wipe and install will work.

It's just pershoot's official stance. He does not want to provide support for it, but if you look over his release thread you will see him explain how to get it to work on touchwiz (the short version is in my post above)
The highest quad score I got was 1939 maxed out...

I'd like to try this as well on Touchwiz but I am waiting for a definitive confirmation that it works well? I assume we just install the zip file from recovery? Also if it doesn't work can someone outline the process for going back, do I just re-install the Touchwiz zip package?
Thanks,

[Q] CM7.2.0

Hi,
Has Anyone Flashed CM7.2.0 by squadzone??
i want to know about performance, pros n cons..can anyone plzz tell
is it stable? any changes from cm7.1.0 of tj_style?
Performance is better. There are more options in the Settings like transparency. You have OC kernel.
Its Got A More Customisable Options But Its Buggy..And It NEeds to Be Fixed and Its Graphics look Dumb At Places I Recommend the One Released BEfore That!..
Some ppl faced wifi problem...not on me...
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
is this rom already over clocked or need to flash oc kernel?
CM 7.2-RC1 Works great for me. Lots of new tweaks, status bar updates (center clock, MIUI-like battery status). Already included OC kernel (well only up to 653 MHz) with lots of kernels and governors. More OC kernels available too.
GPS works, WiFi works, Camera and Video works. It comes in almost plain vanilla CM 7.
I don't have any issue with this ROM. Oh one more, RC2 is coming soon
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA App
i got wifi issue..but its not this rom problem..whenever i try to restore my wifi AP with TB,my mac address,gone..when i clear data and cache,it ok already..so,the point is,this rom is superb..
Sent from public phone using 10cents.
i have used CM7.2.0 RC1, and its have more option, governors for Kernels, and stats bar transparation. .
but i face a Problem when playing game that i can play it on CM7.1, but i cant play it in this rom, than when i change theme with theme choser, the statsbar become blank no single icon on it, the icon appears when i reboot my device.....
than I decide to step back and use previous CM7.1. great Work 4 dev, I cant wait the Stable Release . .

First you need to install CWM Recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529863
Second you need to download CM9 from here:
http://galaxyics.com (Click DOWNLOAD, scroll down and click on Select below the Mini picture, then click on Releases, then click Download)
Then flash it through CWM.
You might know this already, but if you really want to install CM9 in a SGM, you need to have in mind that CM9 in SMG is not stable (yet). For example, if you want to install the CM9 of Squadzone, you should really read these two links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20495725&postcount=225
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20703957&postcount=286
Of course, there are other versions of CM9 for Samsung Galaxy mini in the Dev. Forums, but I didn't try them.
About the CWM, I use the v4, because at the first time when I wanted to install CyanogenMod, the CWM v5 didn't install the ROM correctly (never passed from the bootscreen "android"). And the Backup/restore in CWM v5 didn't work it (at least in my Galaxy Mini). But the Restore function worked perfectly in CWM v4 and, until now, I hadn't problems installing other ROMs in my SGM.
I really recommend (for now) use CM7 RC 5.6 or (RC 5.3 - the one that I'm using it now). If you want CM9 only for the ICS Appearance, you can install a ICS theme with "Theme Chooser" from CM. There's also an ICS Launcher that works good.
Just Saying~
you need to have in mind that CM9 in SMG is not stable (yet)

I'm not using it constantly because it lacks some features that I found, and I'm used to, on squad's CM7, for example. But it's very good.

Nice! which CPU governor did you use and with what Min and Max frequency? How did you do with the laggy visual effect? right now, would you prefer CM9 more than CM7 from squad's? I'm asking all these questions because I want to have CM9 in my SGM but somehow, the first and second time I installed that CM9 I went back to my CM7.2 RC 5.3 backup xD

I always use as Governor lilgV2 (or SmartassV2 when present) and I/O noop. On that ROM the laggy visual effect is hardly noticed, try it!
As I said before: I'm not using CM9 (yet) because it lacks some features that squad's CM7 has. But if you are not used to them, you will not note any difference.
You should try it and see for yourself.
Regarding CM9 Beta4, just read the thread in this section and the entire thread in the dev section before you fiddle with it and decide if it's worth it for you.
There's a lot of fiddling and some things are somewhat working while others, like camera, are just not working at all.
IMO, it's not for daily use and won't be for a long time but if you have a spare mini, give it a try and help with the development and bug reporting.

Gamerzrom v4 best for gaming and multitasking but battery drains kinda fast, currenty im using ParanoidAndroid 3.69 latest and at 3 days of testing it looks amazing good battery, with alot of options, also its good for gaming
my recommendations
Hi!
Have tried many ROMS(including Slim, CM, GamerzROM) and at this moment I have only few favorites:
Supernexus - clean AOSP ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219235
MokeeOS - has a lot of features and very fast(I wondered how )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2352448
GearKernel tastes good with ROMs listed above
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330446
[jOP40D] OFICIAL ANDROID 4.2.1 <RC2> (JB) GALAXY NEXUS STOCK ROM by ELITEMOVIL - old but good one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004906
CM 10.2 - testing it on my old i9000 and it feels like fast and stable with good memory management.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385178
Listed ROMs gave me about 4000 or better in Antutu Benchmark.
Hope this is helpful.
Also recommend to set "Background process limit" to 2 or 3 in Developer options
thx for suggestions.im tryin gamerzrom v4 now,but battery drains a lil fast.performance is good on app's but still tempe run 2 is laggy.i think facebook-twitter-vine-foursquare-gmail-outlook-google maps causes.but it is a smart phone i cant use phone without these app's also i cant play games :/

I tried hellybean once again. I had been using cm7.2 and cm10.1 nightlies until 20130723 build was released. this is the best release of the devilkernel and hellybean in a long while. This is probably because cm10.1 is pretty darn stable right now.
Anyways, with hellybean you need the devil kernel manager app to configure it properly. You can also use nstools to undervolt, but it's alright even if you don't.
It's basically cm10.1 but you get the devilkernel and the xposed framework with the rom. You'll have to install the gapps for android 4.2 separately.
http://hellybean.com/I900042.html
It's really a great kernel (right now, semaphore is good too), and the 20130723 release is great. Battery is decent, performance is flawless if you tweak it. Use the dkm app and also enter Systemsettings -> System -> Find "Build.prop Mods" -> set wifi scan interval to 150, pm sleep to "power collapse", dalvik cache to 48m and enable gpu acceleration at the bottom. These tweaks might be "placebo/sugarpills" but it shouldn't cause problems. You can check "optimize tcp stack" too, not that I notice the difference really.
In DKM app, you could set ram setting to "XL", enable zram and set zramsize to 150. on the cpu tab, use smartassv2 governor with the powersave profile, or normal difference is negligable. Enable deep idle if you want. next page, enable fast charge if you know to disable it when you want to transfer files over usb. On the misc tab, make sure bluetooth kill is on, fsync control is off and dynamic fsync is on. Smooth ui should be on if you feel it's laggy otherwise.
That's how I've configured it for now. I don't think I'll upgrade hellybean for a while, that usually leads to unstability and/or performance loss.
ThinkingBridge ROM
ROM: ThinkingBridge ROM Stable-1
Theme it with : SGS IV - TW + AccuWeather S4
Mod with: Fly-On Mod
And finally install Greenify for better RAM management.
And you are good for a very long time!!

Hi guys great topic, i'm deeply interested.
A friend of mine gave me her i9000 to "repair" because it was laggy as hell.
I tried few roms last week with her criterions :
Not laggy for common tasks (almost no gaming) even with few widgets on home screen
Good battery life is a plus
I first tried some JB rom (C-Rom, SuperNexus) great experience but they were laggy as hell with few apps installed (i had about 5sec lag between each action). I see that you guys recomment hellybean, would you feel that the smoothness would be better?
I did'nt try ICS roms as i see in the dev section that most of them are abandonned.
I finally tried a GB (JWB), the smoothness is better but i experience big lags on the calling apps (remake all my call multiple times when i finished it...). I guess the best option would be the GB smoothness without this laggy call app.
What would be your recommendations? more searching in the JB roms (hellybean etc.)? or trying CM7, or other GB stocks?
thanks in advance for your recommendations,
CM7 is great in performance - fastest ROM i've tried for i9000, but if no new features needed.
Using CM 10.2 for about a week and it feels good and have some battery-friendly features.
Better to make full wipe before installing any of 4+ roms

Once again , Thanks @jfbs for another treat.
To others who are curious, this rom is stacked feature wise, responsive and impressive
Flashed this earlier today and I agree with @det0xx, this ROM has some great customization features and is very responsive!
I've only noticed a few bugs here and there (long pressing location tile doesn't navigate to location menu, needed to re-check and then un-check to disable flip tile effect, unable to remove torch tile), but nothing major. Overall, this is one impressive ROM! Great job @jfbs!
One bug I have is the lockscreen wallpaper disappears and stays black. Did a fresh install, not a major issue, just wanted to report it. Thanks for the rom, really nice.

I'm not really concerned with it as at the moment I'm using this device as a media player. If nobody else is having the issue maybe I messed something up when adjusting my settings. When I have the chance I will see if I can sort it out.

Sorry for the delayed reply been tweaking to hit a constant and stable 3k benchmark. at 2950-98 atm for constant and stable. i've hit 3k just recently however phone becomes unstable. if your phone can handle 1.5ghz oc without problems then the 3k is already possible but battery life i'd assume would drop quite a bit. i've also hit unstable 3k using 1.4ghz and tweaking some settings but haven't messed with it much yet. anyways as far as your issue. yeah it has me stumped without physically seeing everything. If your not worried about and at least to my knowledge no one else is having the same issue. let us know if you do figure out what it is that is causing it.
I got my issue resolved. I'm not sure what caused it, but I fixed it by re-flashing the rom.

prolly just flashed without wiping davlik and not 1 zip at a time per a reboot.
I used this ROM on my s4, it is a really nice ROM. Think I will pull out the exhibit and give it a try.
Well this rom is awesome.
And I finally figured out what I did wrong when trying jfbs's roms. It turns out I was not always loading just one zip at a time, and not leaving it alone long enough after booting the rom.
This time I left it be but with the settings screen on and CPU overlay enabled in developer options so I could tell when it finally stopped thrashing the IO subsystem in the phone (over 90% usage in the overlay, showed blue for a good 20 minutes).
So far so good! Been running it now for a day and no major issues.
Though one niggling thing is no way to adjust the hard buttons back light. I prefer to have it always on with the screen instead of timing out after 5 seconds.

if you really want to get the most follow my oc guide in general op. Note battery life decreases past stock voltage. however higher frequency does not. i would also recommend waiting til you try the phone for a little bit before overclocking. however if you want better battery life and lower cpu temps now without sacrificing performance you can always undervolt the cpu for stock frequency. Stock if i remember correctly is 1ghz at 1.2mV i know almost if not everyone using the galaxy w (which is where most of our stuff comes from) can run 1ghz at 1.1mV as far as i know all our exhibits can as well. I could be wrong but at least from others and my own experience 1.1mV works flawlessly for 1ghz. as far as flashing a kernel to do it with jfbs roms you dont need to flash anything with cars1198's roms you do. Also i would not recommend starting at 1.1mV as a starting point.
EDIT: @jfbs so been running this rom for some time now and i can honestly say this beats AOIP by a long shot now. rock solid, still constant 29xx .8%hr sleep, 24%hr (max 4hr15mins) at stress test usage oc'd at 1.4ghz @ 1.2mV. No rom/kernel sided bugs encountered.
