Hi! Im trying to fix a LG Optimus 2x because it won't boot Im trying to reset the factory settings, but when I enter the Recovery Menu on the phone (it actually does this itself when I try to boot it up normally) the only thing I can do is move the "select thingy" up and down with the volume buttons, but I cant select anything there I tried the Power button, but nothing :O I have tried holding it in, but nothing happends. I have also tried all the other buttons, but the only one that does something is the Home Button ( Shows/Hides the menu).
Please help me
the power button should work fine as the select button, but did you try touching the menu?
some more recent recovery versions support using the touchscreen.
if that doesnt work id say just reinstall cwm with nvflash
Hi
We need to know the version you use of CMW to help you. if you have the 5 probably touch
Have you tried re-installing from ROM manager.
Press either home button or menu button repeatedly until the log says "Back menu button enabled"

You are either doing it wrongly, or the volume-down button isn't working. It's as simple as that.
To diagnose, make absolutely sure that CWM is properly installed by following steps 1-3 in this guide.
EDIT: Actually, if volume-down isn't working, you won't be able to start the phone in NVFlash-mode either.
Then try to start recovery again (also by doing it exactly like the guide says.) If you still can't access CWM, then you know for certain your volume-down key is broken and you need to get the phone repaired.
Maybe a "quick shot" but why not to ask: do you keep power and vol down keys long enough? You have to keep them pressed both for quite a few seconds before CWM mode is activated and CWM menu appears. So, just power off your phone, then keep power and "vol -" buttons pressed until the LG logo changes a bit or the CWM menu appears. On my phone it takes about 15 seconds, so no hurry
Hellow,
I can't enter the recovery mode. I adb reboot recovery and it gives the android out the box icon, I press the menu button and then my phone just reboots.
Can anyone help me? Thanks!
are you sure you pressed the menu button?
the menu button is on the left side of the home button
Yes,
but nvm I got it, I had to wait a little longer.
I am stuck on the CWM Android system recovery screen. My Kernel is fine, I entered it not realizing I couldn't get out because my home button hasn't worked in over a year. I've tried resetting with the power button, and the power button + down key, but it always comes back to this screen. All I need to do is select the "reboot system now" button but without a Home Key I can't select it. Any way around this? Is my phone esentially bricked?

Bricked?
nothing? is it bricked? Does anyone know if a shorted out HOME key can be repaired?

goto the option of reboot system now and press power key...
Just pull battery and power on. It will be fine for sure.
As for the home button, it can be fixed, but until then go search and learn how to flash from fastboot.

Hi
I decided to jump from my current kernel GL 14.1 to Hydracore v7 but when I go to recovery mode and press Home button nothing happens and just says "Back menu button disabled" I press it again it says "Back menu button enabled" and it goes on like this... Can't even restart with the home button.Any help?(I've updated the SU a few times could it be it??)
For what do you use the home button in recovery? To scroll its the vol and to select its the power. What does the home button do?
Some users also had problems in recovery ui but that was becaus of philz touch ui
Use the volumes and power as nokiamodeln91 said

my optimus 2x turns on directly when i put in the battery....i cant go in recovery....when i put battery it shows lg logo ..even though i dont press the power button it turns on directly .....i need to goto recovery .....i tried quick boot app..but i think i lost root access....i am on slimkat 7.4...is it a hardware or software problem
It is software problem. I had it too.
Did you try holding down power and vol - ... and then inserting the battery? I think all that matters is that those two buttons are pressed during power on and held until recovery launches.
Otherwise use ADB to restart to recovery.
