I am stuck on the CWM Android system recovery screen. My Kernel is fine, I entered it not realizing I couldn't get out because my home button hasn't worked in over a year. I've tried resetting with the power button, and the power button + down key, but it always comes back to this screen. All I need to do is select the "reboot system now" button but without a Home Key I can't select it. Any way around this? Is my phone esentially bricked?

goto the option of reboot system now and press power key...
Just pull battery and power on. It will be fine for sure.
As for the home button, it can be fixed, but until then go search and learn how to flash from fastboot.

Hey guys, I have my phone rooted and the shell installed, but when I turn off my phone and turn it back on holding the home button, the recovery menu doesn't open. I have even tried to hold the power and the home button at the same time and that still didn't work.
It does work if I do reboot recovery in a terminal app or adb so I know I that it is infact flashed to the phone.
Any ideas?
I actually end up doing the "Volume Down" button and Power button...it gives me a menu and then I hit the Home button to go into the recovery ROM.

thanks, I'll try and see if that works.
Edit.. That doesn't seem to work either. Maybe Im pushing the buttons wrong or too late? Was there a file i was supposed to keep on the SD card?
Edit... NVM I wasnt holding the buttons before I turned the phone on. I always pressed them right after I turned the phone on.
Hello All,
I for some reason cannot figure out the button combo to get me into recovery from the phone being off. Anyone know what it is? Thanks!
Best,

Hold power and vol down until it turns on and once it gets to the lg logo, release the buttons and press and hold them again until it gets to the factory reset screen. Hit the power button three times and it will boot into your recovery

Thanks fellas!
The phone has to be powered OFF for the stated and linked methods to work for recovery access.
To power the phone off (if, say, you're stuck in a bootloop),
Press and hold the power and Vol- buttons for 10 seconds do not release, hold for an additional 3-5 seconds. The LG logo will flash briefly. When the screen is black, let go of all buttons. Now the phone is off, you may process to use the previously stated commands to enter recovery.
Hold volume down + power until the LG logo appears....once it appears release the power button and repress it and hold until youre into recovery... :good:
Hi everyone,
I was so glad to received 5.0 OTA yesterday, and install it immediately (version 22.21.11 after updated). But I experienced a lot of problems, so I went to Moto and they tell me to perform a partition wipe. Here is the thing, after I follow their operation tips, my phone won't show me the secret menu, so I can't perform partition wipe, and my phone just keep doing some weird things like killing the background apps. Most frustrating thing is that I cannot even launch the camera using the magic twisting gesture!
Anyone can get into the secret menu under the recovery mode? I don't want to unlock my bootloader yet. Thx
update: after google for a while, there is a new way to find the secret menu according to shamelin73

What do you mean " secret menu?"
The recovery list?

Get to your boatloader first, select the recovery tab. Once the android comes up with "no command"
Push the power button first, while doing that, press the volume up.
That'll put you into recovery.
(You don't have to hold the power button for a few seconds...it just has to be pushed first)
Hey everyone, any help will be apprecaite:
I have a Sprint Note 5 that goes into a boot loop, when I push the Vol. down and home button, it will goto a blue screen "installing system update" and then "no command" and eventually it will go into the Android Recovery screen. I can't do anything on this screen because the power button is broken.
If I push the vol down and home button during the "installing system update" it will go to the warning screen to install a custom OS. The options are Vol. up for Continue, Vol. down for Cancel and Home for Show Barcode. The Vol. up and home buttons do nothing. Pressing Vol. down will restart the phone and proceed to boot loop again. If I was able to continue I can probably reflash using Odin, but it won't.
Does anyone know a way to fix this? thanks!!
Why not replace the power button?
After I tried to backup the device with TWRM, I am now stuck on the boot screen with "samsung galaxy tab s2, powered by android" screen.
I am unable to do anything: turn it off, power + volume up + home or power + volume down + home" nothing actually do anything.
The only think that change something is it to wait battery run out of energy, then the screen turn black but as soon as I plug the charger the same screen "samsung galaxy tab s2, powered by android" come again, I didn't even pushed the power button.
The device was rooted long time ago and was still with the original rom (5.0.1 or 5.1.1 I believe, i am unable to verify).
Any help is welcome!
bump,
I tried removing the back cover, now I can reboot the device more easily just removing the battery connector, before I had to wait the battery run out of power.
I trying the boot the device with the "volume up + home + power botton" pressed.
But still no luck.
Is there a way to boot an alternate rom on the device ?
it turn out that removing the back panel actually disable power or volumes buttons, so putting back the backpanel let the "power + volume down" reboot works, then shortly after doing "volume up + power + home" button let me enter odin mode, now I need a stock rom...
i recovered the device, i just had to install old version of twrp new version did brick the device

Just got this tablet and I am about to flash a rom on it. This would be my first time, I was gonna update latest twrp and latest lineage os. You think this issue will occur to me?
