Hi guys,i need a new rom +root+ lagfix(maybe)or whatever the phone needs for running fast without bugs. I was thinking to slimics 3.9 + root + some kernel, but i am like a beginer at this thing. I need detalied steps for each thing. Thanks.
[sorry for my english]
slim ics is good choice and if you want to flash it go to its thread and i think it is pre-rooted and there is no need to use lagfix ....
Ok,but when i go in recovery mode to install zip from sdcard,it says "Error in /mnt/sdcard/3.9_i9000_Essentials.zip(status 7)
Instalation aborded."
What i do wrong?:|
there is a choice named toggle signature verification choose it then try again
Did you follow the procedure?
I always flash Slim following this procedure:
wipe "cache partition" and "dalvik cache"
flash Slim Base (Base_3.9.zip)
flash Slim Essentials (3.9_I9000_Essentials.zip)
reboot into Recovery
disconnect USB and flash devil2 kernel (Devil2_0.94_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120524.zip)
If you are going to flash devil2 kernel, make sure the phone is not connected with USB during flashing!
good luck
If you are coming from gb then you need to flash latest nightly, then base, then essentials, then gapps
edit.....and first you need to root your phone!

So the other day I tried to flash Slim ICS on to my i9000 but I failed. There's like three methods you can try between if the first one doesn't succeed... Non of them worked for me. I still got the same boot loop on every method, every time. What am I supposed to do? Can someone please be so kind and write me a step by step tutorial of how to install Slim ICS. Worth mentioning is I'm on Darky's gingerbread rom JVQ v10.2 RES.
You flashed ICS Kernel first? Tried to install the Rom twice? First to install Kernel and second to install Rom?
Step 1. Boot into CWM recovery.
Step 2. Wipe data/Factory reset.
Step 3. Mounts and storage> Format / System.
Step 4. Advanced> Wipe Dalvik cache & Wipe Battery stats.
Step 5. Install from SD card...
i. Flash Base_3.6.zip
ii. Flash Base_3.6.zip again
iv. Flash 3.6_I9000_Essentials.zip
v. Flash any other .zips you require like face unlock
**Step 6. Flash an alternative kernel like Siyah or NEAK, SOD reports from users of stock kernel. I flashed Siyah from the beginning when I updated to 3.6 so can't comment.**
Reboot.
Happy days!
**EDIT: SORRY don't flash Siyah or NEAK because they are GT-I9100 kernels!! Ma bad!

I tried to install the rom twice without any luck. I haven't tried to install ICS kernel first though. Do you recommend one?

I've followed step 1-5 with no luck whatsoever. I haven't tried step 6. I will probably end up in a boot loop after step 5 so how do I install the kernel? Should I put the kernel on the SD card together with the rom and the essentials and flash the kernel before the reboot after step 5?
You could flash your I9000 with another ICS via Odin and then try??
PLEASE NOTE I edited my post above, blasted Tapatalk.

OMG! I'm panicking! I just cannot get it to work... I've tried everything! Done all the methods recommended. Flashed semaphore ICS 1.1.1 and it still won't work! The only taste of this "well spoken of" rom I can get is through slim ICS v2.6, it doesn't boot loop but when booted I can't seem to get any 3g or signal. So not even that works. I WANT THIS ROM SO BADLY! Please someone help me!
Follow a thread like Team ICSSGS for dummies or ICS333 to get ICS on your phone then follow steps below (from Slim website).
From another ICS ROM
1. Download my latest Base + Essentials (from downloads page download zip not md5)
2. Enter CWM, wipe data, format system ( in mounts and storage)
3. Flash Base*** AND Essentials, Reboot to system.
*** - If the base flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash base before flashing essentials.
You can also clear cache & dalvik cache, clear nstools & init'd (advanced menu). You should clear cache & dalvik cache, nstools & init'd before flashing semaphore. Also once in ROM it is best not to actually use nsTools but rather use semaphore app.
No need to clear battery. My battery is as good as ever and I've never done this and I've flashed a lot of different ROMS.
if you are coming from gingerbread you will need to flash a modem.

Somehow I managed to install cyanogenmod 9 on my phone yesterday, don't know what I did really. But now when I tried to install Slim ICS again, using your guide, it worked! Thank you so much!
i'm having the same issue......but i have no way to boot in recovery mode
same here... bootloop and no way into recovery any1 able to help?
Guys,
I "underclocked" my SGS which was running on Slim ICS to 800MHz, I believe.
It wouldn't reboot after this action. Recovery Mode wasn't working too.
So I decided to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery with Odin, with succes. I can acces recovery mode again. Normal mode still not able to boot.
Now I want to install Slim ICS again with Semaphore kernel but in order to do that I need to install stock firmware I believe. Or I need to find a way to install CyanogenMod9 Nightly right away without having stock firmware installed.
What do I need to do?

In what order do I need to install?
Suggestion:
1.) Enter CWM Recovery, Wipe data, Format System ( In Mounts and Storage)
2.) Run kernel cleaning script by lippol94
3.) Flash CM9 nightly
4.) Reboot to recovery.
5.) Flash Semaphore 1.2.6
6.) Reboot to recovery
7.) Flash Device_x.x.zip, then Slim_Common.zip.
8.) Reboot to system, Enjoy.
Or do I need to skip CM9?
Move 5 to 8 and you should be fine, otherwise you would end up with slim kernel.

I achieved step 1 but after that it's a mystery
Here's my recovery kit to get you back to stock with root and recovery, unzip, read the .txt first, after doing this go to slim website and follow instructions
http://db.tt/MOGZx01S
If needed, where do I find working links of stock firmware? With guide would be nice.
Ooops, link didn't work

All is included, with pictorial instructions
Thank you, it has been a long day but I will finish the the job now

Credits to nitr8 for the ez stuff and chainfire for the kernel, glad you like, keep it safe
Hi,
im not pretty sure how to flash safely from my ICS to JB (CM10).
Im on RocketROM ICS XXLPY v3 with the Notecore Kernel.
In the developer threads there is mentioned that you have to upgrade from
CM9 or something like that.
I just want to get sure, before bricking my note .
Hope somebody can explain to me which methods are safe and which not.
Thanks !

Safe methods:
- Flashing from GB kernel ( for CM9 )
- Flashing from custom / non-stock ICS kernel that had the format command removed
- Flashing from CM9 / CM10 kernels
Brick methods:
- Flashing from anything ICS that came from Samsung
Simply follow the instructions in the thread and you'll be fine.
Check if Notecore kernel is "safe". If it is, you're ready to go. If it's not, you need to flash safe kernel first, and then go for CM10.
If you're afraid or anything, you can always go the long way: stock GB via PC Odin > root > CM9 > CM10, although we should really stop using this method now because devs put a lot of work so that we won't have to do it like that.
Okay.
My way, i would try it:
1. Flash AbyssKernel 4.2 over my ICS RocketROM ICS XXLPY v3.
2. Reboot the recovery
3. Flash CM9 and GApps
4. Factory Reset/Data Wipe
5. Reboot
6. Reboot in Recovery
7. Flash CM10 and GApps
8. Factory Reset/Data Wipe
9. Reboot
The only part, which makes me unsure is "Flashing from anything ICS that came from Samsung". You mean the kernel or could RocketROM brick my note cause its from a samsung firmware ? Even if i flash Abyss before ?
Sorry for asking again, but the Note is a expensive device and I dont want to go back to my Lumia 900
Thank you !
This is my metod. All working good on my N7000
My method:
-Flash CM9 kernel with PC Odin
-Boot into CWM and flash CM10+gapps
-wipe/factory reset and wipe dalvik
done

First, make sure that the kernel version you are using is safe. Speedmod is safe but just in case make sure that it is checking it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
the election of the custom rom is strictly personal. I am running cleaNote V6 wich is almost stock with hydracore kernel and no bloatware. So just look for some you like and just try it out but always make sure that you are running a safe kernel in ICS before doing a wipe or nandroid backup.
To flash the rom just follow the instructions in the custom thread. Usual steps are:
Download rom file and put it in the external sdcard
Reboot the phone in CWM recovery (Power + home + volume up)
full wipe (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition and I usually do a format system under mount and storage)
Install from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
once it is done reboot.
But again, read the rom thread instructions and always make sure that you are running a safe kernel in ICS. Enjoy.

Hi, I need some help - I want to flash my Note to Liquid Smooth 2.2 rom, so please tell me if I'm thinking properly.
1) My note have stock 4.1.2 rom XXLSA, so I need to flash letest Philz kernel from stock recovery, with is "PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSA-DBT-3.99-signed"
2) Do full backup, and flash latest CM10.1 kernel ("Kernel_CM10.1_Official_20130403_n7000_N8Mali"), reboot recovery into CM cwm
3) Full wipe - wipe data, cache, dalvik-cache
4) install rom zip and next gapps, reboot
Is everything as it should be? And what is N8Mali in cm10.1 name? There are a lot of kernel, so I don't know if this will be ok for me. Thanks for help, and sory for my stupid questions... but I really like to know if I'm doing everything in good way.
You don't need to flash the cm kernel after you flashed the philz kernel.

I have read somwhere that It is safer to flash from cm kernel, because flashing from philz sometimes goes wrong. But thanks for answer, thats easier without it
So I have another stupid question - If I want to go back to stock android in future, can I just reboot to cm recovery and restore backup of stock rom? Or I have to firstly flash philz kernel to restore?

Restoring backup in CWM (CM version) will be just fine. Thou, you can flash philz kernel first...but it is not necessary.
So first of all you are on XXLSA and want to flash Liquid smooth 2.2 so here are the steps :
1. download philz kernel for xxlsa .tar from here http://www.mediafire.com/file/wxqlp64nu6s7v66/PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSA-DBT-3.99.tar.md5
2. download odin from here and extract it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539
3. open odin and click on PDA and insert the .tar Philz Kernel in
4. Go in to download mode with pressing Home+Volume Down+Power
5. Connect your phone with your Computer now odin should say "Added" and click START
6. after flashing the kernel disconnect your phone and let your phone boot it will take some mins
NOW YOU GOT ROOT AND CWM
7. the next step is that you put the liquid smooth 2.2 file and the gapps file in your phone storage
8. open CWM = volume up+home+power
9. Wipe everything
10. go to install zip from sd card after that from internal storage
11. now go to the liquid smooth file and flash it
12. after the liquid smooth file flash the gapps file
13. now reboot !
YOU ARE DONE !!!
i have one suggestion
Format /system, /data, preload (in mount and storage option) after doing wipes .
