Well be helpful and tell us what the problem and solution was
Update the USB driver
1) Get a computer of your own. Shouldn't cost more than $500 if you know how to shop for a full set.
2) Load Ubuntu on it. The drivers are already installed.
Windows 7 has recognized my G1 from build 7229 (its the one I started with) and haven't had any issues yet.
Windows 7 sometimes seems to be a problem sometimes with the drivers, removal and reinstall seems to do it
just install pdanet on your pc. it install all adb drivers.
When I connect my Galaxy S to my PC it starts to install the drivers.
The driver consist of 3 parts, but the last one, the MTP USB device, fails to install. I tried restarting my pc after installing Kies and also tried alternate drivers for Windows 7 x64.
When I connect my phone in Kies mode I get an error saying:
FsUsbService64
Service Initiali Failed
(screenshot attached)
Anyone familiar with this problem and/or it's solution?

I have the same problem, however using Windows XP 32 bit SP3
And I get:
Try this, its good for win7 32bit and 64bit also. (My girlfriend and I both have our own SGS, and her win7 32bit is working flawlessly with this driver just like my win764bit.)

Thanks a lot! I will try this later on when I'm able to connect to my pc.
If this doesn't work, could it have something to do with the firmware version?

All I know is that this usb driver package helped me and my gf either, without this pack I got the same error like you did, and since then everything works properly. If this package cant help you then I have to admit this is beyond my knowledge.
Just found our that i left my usb cable at work
Thanks again for your suggestion. I will try this after the weekend.

Some more info.
The last one is from Event Viewer, where it claims that this version of Windows does not support Windows Portable Device drivers.
What a bunch of bollox, my HTC HD2 synced just fine. Must be Samsung crappy driver I guess.
And yeah, I got v 4.5 of windows installer.
update: after lots of googling, I've solved the issue.
re-installed Windows Mediaplayer 11 !

huh?.. mediaplayer? wierd solution ..
I had this issue too, on my moms pc.
I installed kies befor plugging my phone to the pc, it worked perfectly then, installed the drivers and all. could not see if you had tried that. so its worth a shot
another thing to keep in mind
open TASK Manager in Windows
and make sure ADB.EXE is not running
if ADB.exe is there just end task it
when ADB.exe is left in memory, it locks up the USB connection with the phone, and Kies goes into dumb mode

Not really, WMP 10 is the one responsible for the stock MTP driver.
My old computer worked fine with kies, but this new 64 bit one just wont insall the mtp driver, even if i try manually.
Just a quick note on what I discovered last night when trying to get my SGS connected.
Bluetoothe needs to be off
It has to be using the stock Home screen I was as ever using LauncherPro. As soon as I switched back to stock it connected.

try what I did, re-install WMP 10 (or 11)
I don't know if this is obvious or not... but if your running a downloaded Launcher such as Launcher Pro... make sure you revert back to the stock launcher when trying to connect to KIES. This has been my problem until I stumbled across it last week.

Unfortunately, this did not fix it on my droid X
Ok guys heres a big one for ya lol...
I have a laptop i've been using for about 2 years now with ALL my android stuff on it.. I had adb set up correctly and sdk was running correctly everything was good i had no problems... ok so i still have all the files that I used to install everything and all my other files i have for my android device are saved on an external hard drive nice and safe lol.
So my issue is.. I recently upgraded to windows 7 ultimate (64 bit)!! completely brand new fresh boot up with nothing on it... and im having trouble on how exactly to get adb working and im also having trouble trying to set up the sdk manager thing... so if anyone has the time i was hoping you could kinda help me install these things properly on my 64-bit system? I have a Gtalk account or you can just pm me or leave a comment here if you think you can help...
Thank You!!

I am trying to flash my broken GALAXY Tab since my ASUS TF101 got run over by a School Bus...
However, the drivers don't work in Windows 8 RTM... Even if you set compatibility mode to Win7, the installer pops up incompatible OS Version...
Can anybody help me?
I am not an expert but I have read that people like you who are having problems like this have installed windows-xp in a virtual box setup in their win-7 or 8 computers and flashed their Tabs.
Give a try.

Well I don't have Windows XP to install in a virtual machine...
And I already tried to flash it on my mom's Win7 computer and now it won't even turn on.

Well we would need more info regarding this if you expect any help. Did you use odin? What error did you get? Did you pull plug early? Did battery run out? Can you go into recovery? Can you go into download mode?
Plenty of topics already on this so you would be better of going reading them, plenty of info and answers for you already about "wont turn on" subject so no need for us to just repeat them all.
I recently got Windows 8 its awesome BUT, when I connect my phone it says USB device not recognized. I know this is from drivers but i have the latest. Yes I went and got it from HTC's website along with HTC Sync but i still get the error. I cant get to my sd card or anything because of this and it REALLY sucks! i looked else where for the drivers but nothing works. Any help any1 please and thnx?
as far as i know, windows 8 can use any driver from windows 7 or vista. maybe u need to install it manually from device manager.
btw i never use win8, so i think its the same process to install driver

I went to the device manager and uninstalled the device and the next time i connected it it installed the drivers fine. I dont know what the hell i did the first time i plugged it in but i clearly didnt let it install. Anyway thanks for the help, it was probably just a stupid mistake

Seems like you got bad luck I'd prefer an OS (operating system), not a CS (crash system)
SCNR
