Hi!!
My contact app is not working, yesterday I had installed PaulDiddy Remix Contacts on my phone via CWM... It did not work and now i'm stuck with it... The contacts app is no longer working... Although I have installed Go Contacts from the market however i'm still unable to edit or add new contacts... I'm not sure what can be done in this case...
Any ideas how I can restore stock contact app... I have a rooted I9000 running stock gingerbread 2.3.3 with hardcore's Speedmod kernel... Thanks...
Factory resett/data wipe will help.

Is there any way to do this without a factory reset ??
Not really
Can't I just copy the original files from someone running the same stock rom to system/app and then see if it works or not??
well factory reset did not work... Any other ideas??
Then you should flash the whole thing again, but with PIT-file + Re-partition ticked to be sure.

Hi,
I installed an application, which did not install correctly and causes the launcher to enter an endless reboot loop. The OS and the phone seem to work.
In order to back uo my data, I would like to access the setting and allow the Kies to log in the phone and for that I need to run settings, or to install backup complete and then format the device and for that I need to run "Google Play".
Can anyone tel me how to launch applications w/o the launcher?
Thanks,
Avishai

i'm afraid you cannot use apps without a launcher
do you have root? if yes, download tw launcher from our wiki page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001)
use root explorer or something like that.
put your app to system/app
rebbot into CWM, wipe cache and dalvik
fix permissions.
should work, you have now tw launcher
No Launcher
Yes, but W/O a launcher, how do I do anything?
I can only launch the dialer, contacts and SMS before the launcher reboots. I cant access any application.
Is there a dialer shortcut or key cobination that bypasses the launcher and allows me to launch applications with the volume/power key or a similar debug trick?
Thanks
Boot to recovery
Mount internal memory
Put a zip with a launcher as suggested above
Flash it
Now you will have 2 launchers

If you flash a zip that has ONLY a launcher then you will not lose data. That means don't do a full wipe, just flash the zip and clean cache.
Are you rooted?

Install a launcher from the Google play website on your desktop. It'll automatically downloaded and installed on your phone.

I purchased the phone with a haked flash, with some applications that seem to have rooted it. I am not sure on the status when I boot.
In recovery mode, I have clockworkmod version 2.5
As for the tw_launcher, its for I9001 not I9000. the zip file is only 1K size. Will it work?
Most launchers come as apk. How do I generate a ".zip"?

I will try it later, thanks.
I am not sure - I think it was 2.3
There are 3 versions, which will work for me?:
GB version
only deodexed for now
- tested on JVU, JW4 and JW5
TouchWiz4-v2-deodexed.zip
mirror
CM7 version
- tested on CM7.2 RC1
CM7TouchWiz4-v2.zip
mirror
ICS version
- tested on CM9 20120508-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd
ICSTouchWiz4-v2.zip
mirror
Go to settings scroll down to the end and choose device information or something similar and check what android version you have.
Edit Ohhh sorry you can't boot. Silly me.
I suggest you look around at pictures of GB ICS or JB and try to find out which one you had.

I'm not sure if the launcher will install before the phone reboots but you can try. When it's installed, you will get an option which launcher to use when you press the home key.

Yeah you don't need to reboot. It will install like a normal application. As amerkiller said just press the home button and it will give an option of what launcher to install, just click on the new one.

He said that his phone automatically reboots, so I'm not sure that the market will finish installing the launcher.

Oh I missed that bit. If its a bootloop then its something more than the launcher as even with no launcher it will just be a black screen with the status bar.

I installed a mod which gave the notification bar more options like changing the brightness. I also installed a beats audio mod and the hq camera mod. When I turn my phone on an error pops up (don't remember what it is right now).
Edit: found the mod

Also the error was something like "System UI force closed"

What ROM are you running? That mod replaces SystemUI, and it sounds like it's not compatible with your ROM. Reflash your ROM

The reason why you lost your status bar is because that mod is deodexed and if you never flashed a rom then your stock rom is odexed.
If your rooted then you should be able to use a file explorer like root explorer and go into system apps and delete the odexed systemui file and leave the systemui.apk and reboot. Otherwise you will need to flash a sense based ics deodexed rom for it to work.

Hi,
I have rooted JB LQ4 with CoCore-E-5.0-CWM and I don't find allshare application. I found these files in system/apps directory but the start icon disappear and I can't run it.
I tryed to downolad allshare play and allshare control from GooglePlay and install it but when I try to start programs they write it: This app. is not compatible with your device. Could somebody send the original and working allshare files?
Thank you very much

Try this:
Install SD Maid. In option activate system apps to be shown. Find that, tap on it and start it. Maybe it will work this way.

It works, thanks. But my Advance cannot connect to my TV. (Samsung ES6710) I tryed to use iMediaShare and this app cannot connect to. I tested my wife's Ace2 (GB 2.3.6 stock ROM) and everything is OK, this device can connect to my TV with allshare and with iMediashare. Sure: the problem is in my telephone...

Try with latest version. You told that you use first JB from Russia. Use LQ4 or LQB from Serbia.
