help me please
Its a tough and skillful job but can be done! The Riff-box will flash the phone with a standard radio and working spl, and after that you can install a Rom of your choice, the riff box will unlock the phone and make it so it will accept any custom rom or original rom.
You have to disassemble the phone and solder the connector pins to the circuit board, connect everything up to the computer, run the riff box manager and it should take care of the rest!
I would definitely search google for HTC HD7 Jtag/riff box instructions and look at some of the web pictures to get a visual as to how things need to be connected!
Good luck my friend, you should be able to bring your Hd7 back to life!
If this was helpful please click the thank you button!
thank you xdrc45,
but what is spl ?
"how things need to be connected!", almost question are here!
i'll try to disassemble the phone and take pictures to get more help
Edit: i have a question, there is the "riff box" and there is the "RIFF Box JTAG Manager"
are the supported phone models related with the product "riff box" itself, or with the program installed on computer "RIFF Box JTAG Manager" ?
the riff i bought is the NOV 2011 version, if the supported phones are related with the box, how to know if my box supports HD7?
This is the step I'm in:
I couldn't open everything
Hope there is a guide for this
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
OK, i'm done with the disassembling of the phone
now what to do?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
This might help but it looks like you dont have a solderless adapter
jtag pinout
Spl is like a safe mode that allows you to flash a rom to the device.
Your almost there, you have to open up your phone even further than that!
You can read more about spl here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SPL
I would watch this video it shows connection setup and process for hd7
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?desktop_uri=/watch?v=OMRyQpBr82M&v=OMRyQpBr82M&gl=US
I would suggest to start JTAG Manager and click “Check for Updates” button. You’ll be notified about new DLL, download it and restart the software.
HTC_HD7.dll” contains pinout, instructions and required repair files for HTC HD7 Unbrick, Unlock, IMEI Repair and CID Update.

thank you, i feel better getting all this help
i'll try to get out the part of the phone needed, and get that 'solderless adapter'
Got it, here is the part
that video helped me:

but in the video in whicd they used jtag, they have other parts i don't have with my riffbox!
the first picture in the topic shows all what i have

Good work man, glad I can help you out with it!! Yeah the riff box is somewhat different than the jtag but will do the same thing, its jist a little bit of a different process, same basic idea though!
How are you coming along on it now?
You have to solder this cable to the green adapter
And then connect RTCK,TDO..blabla to the motherboard, check my previous post for pinout picture
---------- Post added at 09:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 AM ----------
Or buy this adapter if you dont want to solder

Plug and play =)

and i hope i find a replay for this question (posted in the first page):

I'm wondering how to open this
(the golden part)
under that part, the picture shows the place where i should put the pin out
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
The riff box manager is what supports the device, it tells the riff box itself what to do as far as programming and instillation to your device. Think of the riff box as a middle man between your computer and the hd7. The hd7 is a supported device for the 2011 riff box manager, so as long as everything is connected properly the riff box manager will control the riff box and transfer/install everything needed to bring your hd7 back to life!

Did you figure out what to do with the protective film, as long as it doesn't have imbedded wiring through it, you should be able to peal back that one corner to make the connection you need. It should have sticky edges so you can reattach it or put a spot of glue on the corner to hold it back in place.
If you found this helpful please click the thank you button!
Very good , so i don't have to buy a new riffbox
trying to do the next step

Hello, back again
When I get off the golden paper I can't see the electronic components!
I think there is a way to open that thing
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
What kind of material is that under the protective film? I'm wondering if it's part of the backing for the protective film.
Got it
I managed to get it off by pulling its corners
Now it remains the hardest part
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Nice man!! Lol...yup now the hard part begins, making the all pinout connections. Before you know it, you'll have that HD7 up and running and flashing a custom rom!!

I've seen on eBay a screen and tool to replacement:

...but I have no idea how to change the screen and I need a toturial (or video tutorial) to change the screen
¿Can you help me?
Thanks

eek... that happens all the time to me with past phones... now I am really scared. Your leather case didnt do anything to save it eh?
You may want to check out Cnn.cn. It's a great website for buying spare parts too.

They are selling it for $65.99. They usual post how-to videos also. I suggest maybe looking at comparable phones.

DaveMC1979, thanks. Very useful. But there isn't any picture of how to separate the LCD from the touchscreen, or how connect this:
Does any other site, or videotutorial tutorial?

did you break your screen when your HD2 is inside the noreve leather case?
Yes, but it was open 'mea culpa'
Ouch sorry to hear about this. I read somewhere about it is better to get a kit with the LCD and digitizer together. Some people seemed not to have luck trying to separate and replace and put back together. Just what I read, I have no idea.
Good luck and hope you get it going soon.
Thanks bobsbbq. Some questions:
1.- Then, if I bought together (touchscreen and LCD) it would be easier to replaced them
2.- Where can I buy them together?
Thanks bob
I dont have instructions for you how to swap the display, but I can say the following: I had an Samsung Omnia, and the resistive touchscreen there was very bad. But there was an replacement which seemed to work much better. So I bought a new LCD + digitizer and started to disassemble the whole phone. I have to say, I'm not very good in disassembling electronics or reparing them. But after an hour of hard work where I sometimes had a bad feeling by pulling out the different flat-cables, the touchscreen was replaced and worked like a charm.
What I wanted to say with my post: I think you can do it, if you have the right equipment and some time. Good luck.
I broke the screen on my Diamond2 and tried to fix it myself, but broke it beyond repair.
Be careful!

oh man... I feel for you. You can check out a thread in the Accessories section of the HD1. Basically you are better off buying TouchScreen and LCD preassembled and replace the whole thing
Same thing happened to mine although the damage is lesser. Is the bezel around the glass (same piece of plastic that makes the back cover) damaged?
Mine is chipped heaps in the corner
I successfully replaced the screen on my Touch HD but was unable to remove the LCD screen from the digitizer so had to purchase a whole kit for about $200.
I can't find any for the HD2 though
To the people saying so: are you sure that the LCD is stuck to the digitizer like in the Touch HD or just speculation / thinking you read it somewhere?
Suction Pad..

Hi there,
I remember seeing the inside of the HTC HD2 online once and the screen had a suction pad on in it abit like this one. Maybe you should investigate that. I will post the link if I can find it.
You may also want to check your warranty you never know.

Your phone is hard bricked due to lack of reading
You have to send it to Sony for repair or use JTAG service (which is very rare)
No other option it's dead
But If it's under warranty It can be repaired for free

Have you sent your phone to repair? If yes, how much does it cost?
Mine w8 is also hard bricked and i am thinking to send it to SONY to repair but scared that it will be very expensive
@awm123
If you send it to Sony and you have not warranty it'll be very expensive so why don't you send it to normal repair shop (non Sony)? They do it cheaper .
so many users hardbrick!! and so many user starting tons of threads with the same
cries,news and sad.
so many users didn't get to it (tutorial) properly and end up like this.
every X8 users always get hardbrick! because they always trying to unlock bootloader
no matter what is there manufacturing date even me too hardbricked my X8(12W06)
so if we are money crisis and didn't prepare properly for this dangerous work.
and not end up like this even worse.
some tips for prevent hardbrick or get out of it quickly:
1) TRY to control your fun/excited and eagerness to try newer android version ROMS like 4.0 and 4.1
and some feature packed kernel.(this the main reason why our brain shut down our simpleness and satisfyness.)
2)don't try to unlock bootloader in X8 11W29+ manufacture date
-if you want to try the luck,no matter how is your 11WXX/12Wxx
do it before your warranty ends! otherwise it will cost you
3)be prepared mentally and don't burst in to cry if you hardbricked!
4)save some money in your pocket before hardbrick! in case it will cost you massively
if you don't have warranty.
i tried all of this and have less stress when hard bricked my X8!
Sorry for my really bad English, hope you can understand it.

The problem is when somebody 'must' try it, but 'I won't touch it until warranty ends'.
Idiots. Warranty is greatest stronghold when trying these. There are 3 options while under warranty and you try something dangerous:
1: everything works fine
2: you kill your phone, but it can be repaired by Flashtool
3: hardbrick. They can not tell it was you who caused it. In most of the cases (when they even try it) they will erase and rewrite the flash, so every sign of your stupidness is destroyed. And even if they only rewrite S1boot, the only thing they will find out is that the phone was rooted.
Don't worry, I won't kill you.
I just show you the way to a second life.

i really can't understand what you say, but i completely didn't like the way you describe you used the word like
idiots and Kill you i hate that word because it irritating someone and the words are arrowing someone .
if you kill your phone it can't be repaired by Flashtool!
hey,you need warranty for repairing it for free of charge or with charge in mobile shop!
OR ALSO POSSIBLE WITH JTAG
warranty is really a big plus point! you can HARDBRICK! 10 TIMES AND USE YOUR WARRANTY TEN TIMES!
SONY WILL NOT (KILL US) IF THEY KNOW WE ARE THE CAUSE FOR THE H-BRICK.
because the rules is SONY need to re-alive Sony made phones! in 1 year warranty time.

is screen always totally black after you have cleaned it and it was not black before you cleaned it ? if you took phone apart, something is not sitting correctly for sure. that should not be able to brick phone that way
well i tried dismembering it again an reattaching everything again to no avail. BLACK SCREEN.. i took a photo of the phone before doing any soft updates to it and i noticed now it said it was s-on, now i am a hd2 user and at that moment didn't realize.. so is it possible that it is bricked because it got flashed with a rom on a s-on mode? cause any other thing is that testing point that i am missing that was strangely connected with a small wire in the middle but it worked with that so... any repairman around or something like that ...help..please

Only glass damaged, touchscreen and display are fine. I want to repair it by my own, a new component already bought . But the vendor's fault - it's from GT-i9003 model:
What are the differences between Super CleanLCD and Super AMOLED? Can I change this screen easily with my i9000 or I have to exchange the component/use new touchscreen only?
2. I want to make all internal memory as a system partition and then mount my SD Card as external_sd (not emmc). Is it possible? I know I can't mount it to Windows lately, but there's no problem for me. I want upgrade to Paranoid Android but I heared this ROM make it's own re-partion

i9000 and i9003 ROMs are not compatible with each other, so it may or may not work, even though the fittings may be identical. so its trial and error as not many would have had this scenario.you can compare phone specs here take note of the CPU difference
I would say, you best get the correct part.

Firstly touch screen replacement is not an easy task, look here , its a similar process
second taking it a part here and here
you only need to change your front glass, as your i9000 digitizer is working and need not be changed, when touch is still functioning
yes, insha Allah it should be possible, but I believe its comes as an assembly, not just screen and the damage to other parts, is high, when trying to strip it down

You have good sense of humor, mate  can't you request from that dealer to take the wrong part back and give you the proper one?

Good Luck :fingers-crossed:
It's a long story, but my phone have a priceble appearance now
If you wan't to repair screen by your own, be patient and careful. There's a lot of glue here, as @xsenman said, you can easily damage some components, even a new detail. Do this only if you are pro in it (I'm not, - 267$). At least, there will be a useful video
Please, close this thread

mate, I'm really glad for your phone... nearly new phone
It is so nice to know I'm not alone who thinks that light broken things can be repaired. So many people would throw it away and i9000 is so fantastic phone. No need for new one since pawitp brought us CM10.2

That's because I repaired it for twice. And the second one was at service center
This thread is intended to be used to unbrick your Lumia device from a failed WP Internals unlock, ending up in 05C6:F006.
DISCLAIMER: If you break your phone to a fully unbootable state, or break it, I won't take responsibility for it - you're responsible for this. YOU decided to give unbricking a shot, and you're responsible for it. You could have just kept your phone living as is.
I suppose I'm making an easy-to-access library of service manuals+motherboard schematics for the Lumia X2X series.
A ZIP is attached, containing a manual+schematics for X2X series devices on bootloader spec A.
Here's what you have to do to unbrick:
1. Disassemble your device following the service manual.
You need to get to your motherboard, for now. Do not go further.
If you do, you always have a risk to damage something. The phone won't boot at all if something is disconnected. I'll explain lower in the post.
2. Examine the motherboard schematics layout, and find the R3209 resistor. This is the "testpoint".
3. Disconnect and reconnect battery, connect USB to your phone, short the resistor, connect to PC. Wait for 2 seconds and remove the short.
Done! You should boot to 05C6:9008, which means you can reinstall Windows Phone using WDRT! Your phone is saved.
Unless, you messed up, like I did.
Sample picture of testpoint, on Lumia 920 RM-821 with service schematic nearby

Risks
Be careful with heating the board to remove any shielding. If you are not careful like me, you may end up damaging the board. Here's a thing you have to pay attention to when removing the board on a 920.
Just be careful, short R3209 (using for example tweezers or a needle if you wanna short to the shielding), and reflash.
Best of luck, keep history alive, and resurrect Windows phones.

Ha! Thank you for credit, much appreciated. I remember the feelings I experienced when one of my bricked 920 units came up alive in QHSUSB_DLOAD, yet... eMMC dead, so... oh well, it was worth a shot though it took like 5 years
i have a lumia 820 but is in mode f006 and i am following this thread on my 820 and i dissasembled my 820 and i found R3209 resistor but I didn't understand step 3

What's exactly going not to plan? I can't keep asking you and then it turns out that's now how it should have been.

I already found it but I need to make the short in the resistor R3209 and I need a video or a photo of how you did the short on your 920 to do it on my 820

anything similar to unbrick nokia x? its hardbricked so it shows up as qdloader when i plug it to a pc without testpoints
@no111one I was actually stuck in 3. Disconnect and reconnect battery, connect USB to your phone, short the resistor, connect to PC. Wait for 2 seconds and remove the short.

By the time I realized I didn't have to go further, I broke the PCB. I don't have a picture.
Also, you did say you get stuck on step 3, where exactly?

The sales of those went beyond horrifc, so if any info was pushed, then it'd be a blessing.
As far as I remember - they were on Android..

I get that - what part of that do you NOT understand?
Short the resistor to ground or short the resistor to remove the resistance, connect the USB cable first to your phone, then to the PC, and wait for those 2 seconds for the phone to understand what to do. Then remove the short to avoid further issues if the R3209 line ever gets used.

What exactly?
Remove the resistance by shorting the resistor and then once you know you were successful make the resistor functional again.
I don't see what's wrong - I explained how to do it in whatever way you prefer
