Well i did it again. Posted a thread then solved the prolblem. For anyone else wondering go to an album, hit menu, select auto update album information, and let it download it all and your good. Just odds that media player didn't do it already

So first i copied all my songs from itunes into a folder i created on the phone but when i went to media.player each song had a copy of itself, one that worked and one that said no file existed. I took out the sd card and wiped it but before i put it back in i checked media player and each song had one copy and worked petfectly. I put the sd card in and the mefia player went crazy again. Each song had this, <#> song, then when you scrolled down it had each song again normal looking. None of them played. so whats wrong? I completely wiped my sd card and i checked every file on my phone and.found no copies of the songs. I also tried itunes agent and it didnt work as well. Any ideas.

Sometimes my Music Player goes crazy too and all I usually need to do is clear the app data and it seems to fix itself. Maybe it will work for you
Settings>Apps>Manage Apps>Music Player>Clear Data
My music player isnt listed under my manage apps section

I don't think this pertains to the rom very much, so I think it's better to make a separate thread (had same issue using the app on cm7). It downloads the wrong album art for everything and the only way to keep it from showing it is to disable embedded artwork, too. I'd like to be able to display the embedded, so is there any way to keep it from getting internet access or disabling the artwork folder on the sd card? Any help is appreciated.
Disable dl album art
Use another app to get album art I use album art grabber

As a noob to Android as well as the Atrix HD, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether I have to convert the mp4 music file format iTunes uses to mp3 before I use Welcome Home to transfer the music. I'd like to do this in one swell foop if you know what I mean. I also have no idea if I can transfer the ring tones I made in iTunes to this phone and if so, how do I do it? My phone will arrive today and I'm so excited to finally leave Apple and the closed OS ecosystem.
Also if anyone has any tips early on, I'd love to hear them. ATT has some good tutorials and the Atrix manual seems good too.
Thanks.
Have you looked into doubletwist?

Download Google music on your computer and sync with iTunes and boom music.. I have 30gb of music without having one song on my phone

My laptop runs WinXP and I installed Music Manager and it seemed very buggy so I couldn't upload my iTunes. I also installed Double Twist and it easily imported my iTunes music but all the files show the lock (DRM). Are you saying that once Double Twist is installed on my phone that the Atrix running 4.0.4 will play the music without any problems? I was looking at the online manual for the phone and I see that Moto/ATT offer the Welcome Home apps for both PC and phone so that also may be the solution. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to convert the music files in iTunes from mp4 to mp3 so that they will play on the phone.. Any ideas?
Thanks folks.. much appreciated.

Hi, I have a problem in one preinstall app. My walkman app don't see music files. I have few albums in library but app see only latest files. I read that you have to delete the file responsible for the music database, but I don't know where that will be.
Nothing to do when I clear data app in application menu.
Anyone help ?

Unfortunately, I checked three applications and it did not work for me
Weird question, but I transferred my music to my new One and put it in the Music folder on the SD Card. However, when I open up Music or Play Music it does not find anything. I'm using standard Mp3... . Phone is running stock and I'm not rooted. Thoughts?
Try Rescan Media in the store or reboot the device.

No option in stock music programs to rescan. Final solution was to use HTC sync to transfer music. How stupid is that. Even if I transfer music to where HTC sync does (using another program), stock music program will not see it.

Nacho suggested using an app called rescan media.
It would be a complete battery killer if android constantly looked for new media, so it only does this after certain things happen. HTC sync probably sends a command forcing it to scan. The app suggested forces it to scan also and it's literally as fast as opening the app and you're done. Phones where you had to toggle usb storage mode on/off would automatically rescan when turning off the usb mode. Since this uses mtp, there isn't much going on to trigger this.

why not download es file explorer and find your music click on it and then pick you music player to play a song..i pretty sure it'll scan the file after
Btw, I just transferred music with windows - drag and drop folder to folder. No issues scanning media. Not sure why mine worked just fine and yours isn't.
