DarkRaider 1.5.5 questions - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

so i got it to work but the only kernel i can flash is faux everything else gets me into a boot loop.... i dont have a problem with the faux but the wifi doesnt work. is there a fix to that problem or is there a way to use the other kernels without getting into boot loop. im s-on btw unlocked and rooted. i would post this right on the DarkRaider 1.5.5 page but i cant cuz i dont have enought posts

I haven't tried the Faux kernel, but to fix the WiFi on most kernels just flash the kernel manually with fastboot flash boot boot.img command.

oh i didnt even think of that. thanks ill post back after

it worked thanks a lot

Supposedly 1.5.5 doesn't support s-on devices as far as I remember

you cannot flash a kernel through recovery with S-ON. So your not really flashing faux kernel. You still have whatever kernel was stock/you fastboot flashed. If you S-OFF'd you would have been fine, and of course you can fastboot flash S-ON or S-OFF.

Is that so?
I flashed Holics kernel through recovery with S-ON. If I go to Settings->About and I check the kernel version it says 3.0.32-Hollcs_0528.
So that doesn't guarantee that I am using that kernel?

[Q] Do I Need S-off to flash a sense 3.5 rom?

Hi Guys,
A friend of mine got a IncS with Hboot 2.00.000. I know how to install recovery by using the adb and fastboot. But is it necessary to S-off your phone? The phone is bootloader unlocked by htcdev. Is there any rom sense rom with beats audio where i don't need an S-off?
Many thanks to you!
I think you can flash the ROM's with S-ON, but you'll have to flash the boot.img manually trough fastboot.
Okay that's no problem for me.
For the one's who don't understand the question, you need to extract the rom after flashing and flash the boot.img in fastboot. You need the Android SDK Kit
Open CMD and go to your folder where you got the sdk it installed and enter then the following command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Hi all,
I ve unlock bootloader via htcdev 3weeks ago bcause i need my Inc S is root. I was followed all instruction how to root Inc S hboot 1.16.but my boot still S-On. I ve root with CWM and finish root. I ve root, clear all data, and put costum room and finish instal rom.
Q: after finish install new costum rom I reboot and loading with Htc logo for 10minutes and not changing anything w/ my inc s.i am.confuse my phone cant load.what my problems help me guys since hboot 1.16 cant s-off

Manually flash the boot.img from the ROM using fastboot.
I think it needs a sticky that you can perfectly flash a custom rooted ROM with S-ON.
Oh, and also a sticky that you have to put the back cover on to get a good signal.
Mine is s-on, and running virtuous affinity rom with sense 3.5, as above, need to flash boot img through fastboot. Took a while to remember this when I flashed the quattro rom :banghead:

[Q] Force close and hangs after installing any custom Roms

i Unlocked the bootloader form HTCDev.com according to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337105 guide to the point but after unlocking the bootloader i installed RunnyDroid v5.1 it gave me force closes of almost every app and even the screen hung while locking or unlocking the mobile (the power button ) .,,,so i tried virtuos rom even that gave me the same thing...what could be the reason ..??? rom is not overclocked and i have HBoot 2.000 my incredible s is S-ON by the way
I think the kernel(boot.img) doesn't installed very well because S-on with unlocked devices must flash the boot.IMG via the computer manually.
Command here
"fastboot flash boot boot.IMG"

have already done that the issue stated is after installing the kernel from the command promt
Which recovery you have installed?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA
Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4
Try to install 4EXTrecovery. Revolutionary recovery is too old.

But can the recovery be an issue..???? can i directly flash 4ext recovery over CWM ..???
Maybe a filesystem problem. Now all roms are preformatted the devices with ext4 fiflesystem for a better performance. I think revolutionary recovery doesn't support ext4 so the FC problem is occurred.
Also Android Revolution HD will flash the latest recovery after install the Rom. This Rom is modified from the stock. So the Rom may boot successfully. For more details, take a look on its description and the changelog.

Yes the recovery can be an issue. CWM 4.01 is an older version. For ARHD you definitely need 4Ext recovery.
Or you can extract the zip file and flash the recovery manually.
Command here
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Just go on 4ext.net on your phone and download the updater. Then click install and it will over write your old recovery with the latest one

Thanks Brother...lets hope now it wont force close every now and then
I'm using hboot 1.16. I did flashed the runnydroid 5.1 and flashed the boot.img found in rom.zip/system/..
Then i got stucked at htc white screen. I wipe all partitions again, flash the rom and reboot, it worked well. Weird hboot :S

After that flashed by typing fastboot flash boot boot.img but than it gets stuck there. it says sending image and stays there. Please help dont know what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance

Flashed a kernel, now the phone won't boot

Hey there
I flashed the bulletproof kernel through CWM and unfortunately I was stupid enough not to backup my ROM beforehand. Now when the HTC bootup logo appears, the screen goes dark and nothing happens from there. I am able to access bootloader and CWM recovery but I do not have the Android Revolution HD ROM zip file on the SD card and CWM is not mounting my SD card for some reason.
Any help??
Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing? If not try that
Yes, I did. Still doesn't work. When I reboot, I get the "HTC Quality" or whatever white bootup screen and then the screen goes dark and nothing happens from there. Can I download an .exe RUU and flash from fastboot? If so, which RUU would work with my device? How can I find out? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
This is the information displayed on my bootloader:
M7_U PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.0000
RADIO-41.14.3250.13
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot
What rom and version are you running? What kernel are you running?
Well I had stock kernel then I flashed Bulletproof kernel. I am running Android Revolution HD 10.1 which is based on 4.2.2 I believe.
sideload a rom to flash
Just download ARHD, extract the boot.img and flash it in fastboot.

Thats the problem.. There no compatible kernels for 4.2.2 based roms!
Search for stock 4.2.2 and all will be fine, flash in fastboot..
Or reflash ARHD 10.1 sideload

That kernel is not for 4.2 roms man.. Try to adb sideload the Android Revolution rom from your computer. You will have to put it into adb sideload mode from recovery first.

Do this or sideload the full rom using adb and flash it in recovery.
YES! I think that worked. I extracted boot.img from ARHD and flashed it in fastboot and now the phone displayed the bootup animation where it says HTC ONE and beats audio on the bottom. I am assuming it will take me to the setup screen now.
I do not know how to use adb and androidsdk or w.e it's called so I am going to have to do some reading about that since it seems vital in such times.

bootloop after flashing firmware.zip?

so, i just flashed the modified firmware.zip for 3.09 with twrp recovery, and everything was a success, until i rebooted..now im stuck in a bootloop.
bootloop as in the splashscreen when you turn on the device shows, and then it restarts
i followed everything right, relocked bootloader, etc etc
im soff, i once flashed a custom hboot (without the warning text), but i dont think that should be a problem with soff..
i have super cid, so what did i do wrong? and what can i do to fix it?
i was thinking of flashing cwm and restoring a previous backup i made, but when i try flashing it, it says "not allowed', so i cant even get cwm recovery.
so basically my question is, how do i get out of this bootloop after flashing the latest firmware.zip?
Maybe you can't flash a recovery because you are relocked?

twrp flashed fine..just cant get cwm to flash..so that shouldnt be the problem. regardless, how can i get out of this bootlooop
You can't flash cwm because you relocked the boot loader.
You're stuck in a bootloop because you can't have a locked boot loader and custom recovery. It will always cause a bootloop.
Unlock the boot loader and it will boot fine.
