[Q] Help Full Screen Flash video triggers Inactivity Time out - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After upgrading to ICS my Note will not stay on when playing full screen flash on Dolphin HD and Opera. I can play the video and then after the the interaction timeout (default 30 seconds) the screen powers off.
In order to watch a full screen flash video it is necessary to keep touching the screen.
I changed the system inactivity time out to 10 minutes, but there is no option for never power off...
Does anyone know how I can fix this issue. Flash videos used to stay on in GB, not sure if the issue started because of the ICS update Flash update or something else?

I am also having exact same problem. I have tried a few different apps to try and combat it but apps like "screen on" etc just keep screen on ALL the time. The youtube app seems to work they way i want dolphin broswer to work.. IE on youtube the screen stays on until the video finishes and then screen will timeout at the set time once the video finishes.
BTW dolphin browser has a setting that means it will keep screen on all the time when its on. BUt again you will need to remember to exit dolpin to let the screentime out.
PITA......

Please refer my post 14 for the solution / reason to keep music on
Freinds,
Whenever i play music in TF3d mode and when screen goes off automatically or if i press power off button (standby mode) then music turns off. This doesnt happen when headphones are connected. But without headphones it gets turned off. Please let me know any tweak so that i can play music through tf3d tab even when phone screen gets turnoff.

Guys please help
Hi.
I have the same problem.
Please help...
/M
nobody to help?????????????????
i dont know if you understand what sleep mode is but when the screen turns off its in sleep mode and it turns off wifi bluetooth the screen and pauses some processes that may incude the tf3d music player. if it bugs u so much set your power options in settings so tat the phone turns off at a later time then what it is currently set to that way u can play your music longer. note that your battery will drain faster as the phone is still on even thought he screen is off

Well i am aware of the sleep mode. Also changing the time in power option doesnt solve the purpose. I have also dechecked the option "turn off device if not used in X min" .
Still waiting a solution to this
i personlly gave it a try and my music continued to play after the screen turned off, ti even played the next song. It may possibly be a bug in your rom or it could be tf3d all together. Im using tf3d2 on the Gen Y D2 rom. If it really bugs u i suggest you give the rom a try,
AFAIK its not a bug, but rather a feature of WinMo.
Sleep means what: You are not going to use your device (apart from... recieving a call or an sms). So that includes playing music.
But if you connect the headphone, its different scenario, WM assumes that you just want to play music (since the headphone is connected). So it allows playback of Audio.
But to be doubly sure, goto HKLM-Software-HTC-AudioManager and search for the key enter_suspend, it should be 0 (zero)
One solution i've found... Start the music from TF3D, and then lock the screen. After that, in few seconds the display will turn off (depends of your settings)and music will play. Works for me

Well tried this also, it plays till the time backlight gets fade away but as soon as it gets completely off music stops. I think this is ridiculous feature of WinMO coz if i want to listen music in Tf3d mode with screen off i cant listen it. Too bad
do you really listen to music through the crappy tiny diamond speaker?
Try this with your preferred registry editor, change the value of hklm\system\state\hardware\headset
from 0 to 1 and see if it works
this works because I just tried on my diamond, play the music via windows media, assign a button in the options to switch off the screen and just push that button while playing.
Well i found the solution. Well rather reason why it music used to stop. I had installed older version of S2U2 which was locking the Tochflo3d. But now i have latest version i.e. 2.04 which has an option not to lock touchflo3d and also dont turn off the phone if screen goes blank. I have selected this option and now music remains on.
Anyways thanks a lot everybody to help me.

Turned both of these functions on (Don't lock TouchFlo3D, etc.)...still get my sound turned off if I hit power when playing through the phone's speaker. Most annoying issue...still no solution....

[Q] My SGS is acting weird, no more lock screen

i'll get stright to the problem, after flashing my SGS and rooting it a a week ago, and loading it with almost 60 apps, the speed is still stable, everything including the benchmark is giving the same results around 21++ ,,, today something weird happened, when i try to turn on the screen after the screen turns off after 30 sec, i just can't get the lock screen anymore, it goes directly to the desktop, i tried restarting and removing the battery, i only get the screen lock the first time then i can't get it anymore except after restarting it,,
i also tried to use the pattern lock and yes the problem still exists, i get the pattern once i restart then when i turn on the screen after some time it goes directly to the desktop
any idea :S ?? this seems like a bug to me specially after only one week of use

home button lags on phone wake up

anyone else experiencing this?
it takes my phone a good 2-2.5 seconds to wake up (screen to turn on) after i press the home button.
is this normal?
Which firmware? And are you running a custom lockscreen? It might also happen if you are running lots of apps (But I am guessing)
i'm using a korean anycall m110s on firmware dh19.
no custom lock screen and the only app running in task manager is launcher pro.
mines about half a second regardless of running apps, on JM1

Not normal, but it happens to me sometimes as well. Sometimes it takes so long for the screen to accept input that the phone goes back to sleep before I can enter my passphrase on the lockscreen!
I suspect most of the time it's probably some poorly written widget that's updating itself or the like. Check your widgets and see if any of them (like Beautiful Widgets) have a "refresh data on wakeup" type setting that may be keeping the system busy while waking the screen.
Try removing all widgets and adding back one by one after you see that the last one added doesn't cause the problem.
I've also noticed that with certain music playing apps running, the system is often very difficult to wake up.
did you try turning off media scanning?
it makes a hell lot of a difference
i've tried all suggestions and still no luck....
i have no idea what's causing this. my other friends who have galaxy's dont have this problem.
any recommendations??
as a quick update: with the music app running w/ music playing, there is zero lag when waking up the phone via the home button...
is there a solution to this?
I'm experiencing the same thing, it is so frustrating!
I tried several roms, samsung based, AOKP, AOSP, stock...on all there is a lag...
tried a fresh install without restoring apps, tried it without installing anything and no luck
I can not believe that a high end phone like the sg2 has a bug like this, surely there must be a solution to this??
edit
just realized this is for I9000, I have I9100
Dont worry i think. The same thing happens on my s3 also galaxy note is the same screen wakes up after 2-3 seconds ..
But interesting thing is,my i9000 wakes up just about half sec )

BUG: YouTube Lockscreen

Right now as I exited YouTube as I just finished a video, the lock screen is the thumbnail and won't go away. I know this is no major issue. Just wanted to make it public. I'll just restart my phone. Yes, it is not playing audio in the background.
Yeah I've had the same issue, over the last few weeks! It doesn't do it all the time, though.
This also happens to me. What ROM are you using? I had the bug on LS so I wonder if its a ROM issue or a lollipop bug.
Its a lollipop issue. Seems to happen on YouTube mostly. But I think others had the issue with other apps. Quickest fix is to open an app that uses a lock screen widget. I use PowerAmp and start a song, turn off the screen, turn screen back on, unlock and stop Power Amp. Lock screen is then back to normal.
It also happens with tune in radio. The lock screen shows the logo of the last station listened to until I reboot the phone.
Happens to me on stock hopefully a fix comes out soon

Screen timeout

Hi.
I have the following problem when watching long videos such as films, sports etc. on my p30 pro.
Other phones have a feature where they can tell that you are looking at the screen and while you are looking the screen will remain on, however the p30 pro doesn't seem to have this as far as I can tell. At least I am unable to find it if it does.
The maximum setting for the screen timout is 10 minutes. So, if I am watching a long video I actually have to touch the screen every 10 minutes to stop it from turning off!
This is going to get pretty annoying if I can't find a fix.
Is there something I am missing here or does anyone have a workaround?
Thanks in advance.

Try removing the video player you're using from battery management so it doesn't get put to sleep, maybe that will prevent screen timeout
Does your battery saver settings are off?
Settings-Battery-saving mode off (all)
When they are activated there is a leaf in the battery icon.
When it is activated, my screen turns off also automatically while playing games or others and not touching the screen for a while
