[Q] HDMI in?? - Motorola Droid 3

Hey Guys,
I know the DROID 3 comes with its own HDMI out, but is there any way it could recieve a HDMI signal and display it on its own screen.
The reason why I ask is that I bought myself a raspberry pi and think this would be an awesome combo.
Kind regards,
Fenlig

[Q] Adding a bigger screen to Tytn II?

I have a Tytn II lying around gathering dust because there is simply no marekt value in it for trading. SO I have had a bit of a silly idea and wonder if it would work.
I have been interested in the idea of a Car PC for quite a while with a 7 inch touchscreen in the dash. Costs can get up there a bit once you have bought the screen, the pc itself etc. So I was wondering how easy it would be to use the TyTn II innards as the basis for a Car PC and somehow connect a 7 inch touchscreen to the Tytn II motherboard.
To me it would be a great solution for running satnav in car, and media.
What are your thoughts, do you think it would even be possible?
Cheers.
Yes, possible at least the video is, without wrecking your titan too, There's a cable you can buy that lets you send video from the titan to any screen with RCA Yellow input. I beleive it's available for PSP also. 'Mini-USB -> RCA Yellow AND white' They are on ebay.
From there you may somehow be able to port the touchscreen to the Tytns miniusb port but im not sure (as it willb e occupied by the video out). Perhaps you could splice both into one then code it to work somehow. Interesting project - good luck

How do you connect a 7 in LCD to a raspberry pi?

Hello, i have a 7 in display that i took off of a broken lenovo thinkpad tablet and i am looking to connect it to my raspberry pi. I know i need the HDMI-LVDS converter. I'm just looking for an easy fix, so maybe you can summon up some sites that offer a how to with a buying option that gives me the wires and the HDMI-LVDS converter. I don't need the screen though.
I'm hoping to get the screen powered via the power to the PI. I'm going to connect this rig to my car so if you may be able to give me a site that will give me a power adapter that will connect via usb and give me enough power to power the PI and the screen.
It took me a while to find the exact tablet i am going to use but i have found it. i have taken the screen off a Lenovo Ideapad A1 22282EU 7-Inch Tablet.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
also I know this is a question but i could not find a good place to put it other than here.. i will keep everyone updated on my progress as i build though. If there is a better place can you please move it?
Thanks.
I just recently started a similar project. Dead Dell laptop that I harvested for it's 17" screen. You need to start by getting the datasheet for your lcd panel. Google should help with that.
I ended up having to go to ebay to find an hdmi converter board. I had to shop around and speak to a few sellers to ensure their converter board was compatible with my lcd panel. And then I still had to purchase a separate AC adapter to power the converter board.
Here's the seller I ended up going through:

Keep in mind that the project I'm working on isn't going into a car, so I wasn't as focused on the portability side of things as you seem to be.
I did do a quick search when I saw your question and came across this product.

Looks like they have an HDMI-LDVS converter with a usb port to power the Pi, but I have no idea whether your panel is supported, or even when they will be back in stock.
I'm not recommending this site (I've never shopped there), just letting you know what I found on a quick Google search.
Hope this helps.
Check out adafruit.com they have tons of documentation on all sorts of projects, including hooking up an lcd. I bought mine from there it's pretty easy to get it working.

As long as you can get a hdmi input for it Otherwise you cant or maybe somehow by changing circuitry you can
Of course you can it just depends on the panel you are using. I hooked one up to a proto board and a certain breakout board because I have sensors being displayed on it, not using it for a terminal screen.

No MHL?

Hey everyone. I gotta say, the droid turbo is an incredible phone even without the promised 48 hour battery life. However, I can not find any info on support for MHL or not. I've got a pioneer radio (this one to be exact) that demands it and so far I can't get it to work. Any help/alternatives to MHL? Thanks.

When I looked for the spec everything I read kept referring to some form of casting or mirroring wirelessly. I am disappointed and pretty confident there is no MHL

I don't know about MHL, but it is compatible with WiDi, MiraCast and AllCast/AllShare.
Just turn on your WiFi then bring up the toggles from the notifications screen and you will see a Cast Screen option.

Yeah i knew that, but i don't know how to get the radio to communicate with my phone.
This is on Motorola site. Doesn't say what phone it works with but I would assume it would work with ours. Too bad it's out of stock for the $3 bucks they want I would have given it a shot.

Pretty sure that's for the older phones that had mini-HDMI ports on them.

I think it is too. Is there a way to stream to a chromecast without a network?
Any luck on this? I just recently bought a pioneer radio as well, and trying to do the same thing. I have everything connected, but it turbo doesn't play along. Have you made any progress with yours? Bought a new phone that does support mhl??

Droid Turbo doesn't support video out over a wired connection. Your best bet is to buy a Miracast dongle like the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter or Belkin Miracast Adapter and an HDMI coupler (Female to Female).
Connect the coupler to the HDMI sticking out of the radion and connect the adapter to the coupler. You'll need to provide power the wireless adapter as well.
For the Pioneer radio set the settings to HDMI connection type for AppRadio Mode, pair the Bluetooth from phone the radio and go to your display settings on your phone and connect to the wireless adapter.
PM me if you need more help.

Any HDMI Adapter help.

As they Title says. Could you please let me know if you're used any that works with 5t. I'm getting my phone next week and would like to get adapter so I can plug my phone to big screen when I'm at home/ office...

I know theta no video out. But there's a lot of mhl cables that you can buy. That's where I was looking at thanks.
sorry I should have explained better. My bad. When I said no I meant there is zero way to get any kind of video out from the phone, I have looked everywhere. No MHL, SlimPort, or HDMI. Like most companies today, OnePlus has not included it in the hardware. For the most part, everyone is pushing for wireless video like the Chromecast.
best HDMI dongol
Hi guys
I need to display from my phone to a 4k screen via HDMI cable
