I posted this in the Q&A section yesterday and have gotten no responses so far, so I thought I would try here.
I believe Android 4.0.4 has been released for one of the Samsung phones.
Has anyone heard anything about 4.0.4 for the Vivid? Any general information about what's in 4.0.4? We know that 4.0.3 had some issues that needed to be fixed.
Thanks

I know that there was an unofficial leak to froyo for the captivate; with the resent announcement that froyo will soon come to the captivate I was wondering if you guys know if it will in fact come with wifi/usb tethering with the OTA update (no rooting or anything). It was present in the leaked version but its just that a leaked version has anyone gotten there hands on a newer version/build?
a) not development related, Q&A or general next time
b) no one can say for certain what will be in the final build until we have the final build
c) if there was a newer version available, it would be shared (likely on this forum as well); so if you don't see it, it likely isn't available
thanks and sorry for posting in the wrong forum I thought it had some relation to the development of android for the captivate

Hey Guys,
I found this article on the web mentioning that Samsung just released their new Android 2.2.1 for their SGS. Do you think it is also for the Bell version of SGS (I9000M). I am hesitant to upgrade with the Froyo 2.2 that was released before because I see people are having all SD issues and things of that sort. Will this work and if so, will this solve the issues people are having with 2.2?
Here is the source below:

This is the JPU firmware that is floating round the forum and now being used in many of the custom Roms

Wow, I guess this thread is super unimportant because everybody knew this already, lol. But I am not sure if its a new idea that Samsung is using. We'll see if somebody validates this for us.
Good Afternoon,
Haven't posted here in a while, hope everyone's well.
I need some assistance, I am trying to Root my Galaxy Note,
and get it to run ICS. I read that samsung was to release
the ICS 4.0 for the Note, but haven't seen anything about it anymore.
My main reason is the face unlock. Really want this feature,
I bought an app that does it, but it's buggy.
So i figured i'd turn to the experts.
Here are my stats:
Unlocked, Bought in Germany (still in germany
Model GT-N7000
Android Version 2.3.6
Baseband N7000XXLA4
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-n7000xxla4-CL886827 [email protected] #2
Build: GINGERBREAD.XXLA4
Soooooo, what do you think?
you will have to downgrade the rom to be able to gain root access as LA4 isnt directly rootable
Face unlock sucks. You can fool it with a printed photo.

As MANY notes suffered from bricks and probably serious damages
while playing with the only ICS leak available today I'd stay away
from it for the time being, I guess it's not worth it just to have
ICS and face unlock a couple of weeks ahead of the official release.
I, for one, tried ICS, absolutely loved it, but reverted back to GB
for the above reason.
I'm totally new to Android and hear that the Note will receive an update to Ice Cream Sandwich. Can anyone tell me what the advantages will be of this upgrade and which website will tell us when it's available and host the upgrade?
Many thanks.
Keep visiting ICS sticky.
Not only you would get to know when ICS is released but also reading it from the beginning give you a good laugh.
Advantages of ICS? Why don't you Google it?
