I am not able to install google apps on my hp touchpad. after a month or so after messing with classicnerd and cyanogenmod and it getting stuck in a boot loop, i picked it up again and tried wiped everything, now CM9 the latest nightly works great but whenever I try to install the google apps pack, it freezes. I have tried from recovery and RomManager with rebooting. both freeze with the exclamation point in a triangle. I could do it before and it is the latest version of both.
Is there something that I am doing wrong?

Never have had to use it but there's some type of gApps fixer you flash that may help solve it. Can't remember what its called or where its at but shouldn't be hard to find.

Here's the gapp fixer utility link : http://www.tabletsupportforum.com/forum/showthread.php/1645-Gapps-amp-Gapps-Fixer-for-CM9-(ICS)
I have used it and it worked fine for me. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice and help and I wish I could say it helped. Not that it is wrong, but almost as soon as I posted this I tried to download and install the google apps from RomManager. I don't know why I thought of it since on my other devices I use Amon-RA for recovery and I dislike clockworkmod and don't ever use RomManager. Lo and behold, it worked! I was very surprised but after updating things still work fine today.
Glad to see it worked for you.
Another option I would have recommended would be to install the GooManager App (from www.goo-inside.me) and tried that. It'll grab the latest GApps for you, too. And it allows for incremental ROM downloads, so you don't have to always get the 100+ MB ROM file every day (if your ROM author supports that).

Hi,
I'm running CM7. I flashed first by downloading cm_p990_full-91 from rom manager. After installing it went into a boot loop, so I flashed update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-Optimus2X-signed from clockworkmod. Everything seems fine except market missing. I've tried flashing gapps-gb-20110613-signed several times from clockworkmod.
Please help
Install this with CWM it will then updates to 3.0.27.
Many Thanks
here is 3027, no need to let it auto-update and keep 2 copies on your phone ...
Last night I was lurking in market and I realized there was some updates pending to apply including Superuser but I don't remember the other 3... there was a little bit strange because wasn't in another color like normal pending updates, so I enter in tne app page, push "update" button and the push "ok" button, this for every one...
Updates was downloaded but when was applying suddenly the nook reboot... well, try to reboot, but something goes wrong... boot starts ok, but when came to the outlined white "nook" and outlined raindow "color" stops drawing the "l", and reboot again and again.
Well, today I make a 2GB SD with ClockWorkMod 3.2.0.1, manualnooter-4-5-18.zip and manualnooter-4-6-16.zip like last time... first I apply MN4.5.18, but when reboot happens the same thing... then I apply MN4.6.16 and the same thing happens...
So, anybody figured has idea what is going wrong and what I have to do to fixit???
Thanks a lot
Try this
Had the same problem this morning and found this thread. It worked for me but now need to reinstall Flash. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208896
Same issue - flash zip fix didn't work for me
fealuin, did the flash zip work for you?
I got the flash update today, rebooted and hit the same problem where it's looping on the colo... Before I read this thread I tried reapplying the copies of manualnooter 4.5.18 & 4.6.16 I had with no luck.
I've tried the flash zip, reapplying the manualnooters, clearing cache & davlik cache, but apart from taking longer on the initial boot before looping, it keeps doing the same thing.
I had just installed and run nsr (nook screen recalibrate), which automatically rebooted, but I don't know if that could be an additional cause.
At this rate I'm close to wiping and starting from scratch, but I'd welcome any suggestions. About to go on vacation, and I was in the middle of a book...
Thanks.
Same thing happened to me when I uninstalled ad free and tried a new app of the same likeness. Had to flash to a backup

Nope.
My nook color is underpower... I just put it to charge but the original cable is damaged, so I use a standard cable to charging and is pretty much slow than original cable...
I hope in about 1 hour have enough charge... I will be reporting
Well... it works... market return to an old version so I reapply mn 4.6.18... all looks like work fine

this is exactly what just happened to me. flash update didn't work either.
Today by mistake i updated adobe flash player to version 11, since then it stuck in boot looping, i tried to flash the zip file many a times but no success. it still in boot loop. please let us know is there other way to delete the flash player except adb as it dose not work for me.
Flash shouldn't have anything to do with booting up. How exactly did you update it, the market, adb?
+1 here. Tried flash fix zip, and recovery fix zip,...nada. I had the updates hit last night, borked my nook, and today I'm attempting a cure. Just about ready to revert to stock and start again.
Anybody found anything yet?
I have no problem with updating or using Flash 11.
Maybe I'm lucky.

Not sure if you can fix it if its already doing the boot loop, but I was able to prevent it from happening by using the instructions posted. Uninstall flash and air with titanium backup and then load the flash.zip with cwm and you should be able to then update flash through the market without boot looping. To get the market working, I did a data wipe of the market app using titanium backup.

I don't have any issues with it either......
I have the same problem. Stock rooted. Updated superuser, noticed I had an update to abobe air installed. When I rebooted I got stuck in this loop.
I tried flash fix, but it did nothing.
so is the only fix to wipe and re-install everything?

That's what I had to do the first time it auto updated flash as I couldn't figure it out (and the flash fix wasn't out). I made sure to turn off auto updated for flash after that and I installed Titanium Backup so I wouldn't have to remember all the apps I wanted. I managed to get the new market working by data wiping the market app, but this turned on auto updating again. Luckily, now there is a way to avoid the bootloop if it auto installs flash. You just have to make sure to remove the updated flash and air using titanium BEFORE you reboot, or you'll get stuck in the bootloop again. I know, that doesn't help you now, but once you run the fix, you should be able to safely update flash. If it happens again, you'll have titanium backup so it'll be easy to restore. As I have all of the root and flash fix files loaded on my SD card along with CWM, I could restore my nook to it's current state in about 10 minutes if it were to get stuck again, but hopefully that won't happen.
I had the same problem. I even flash with stock 1.1 and it did not work. Somehow I think I get rid of ROM manager after that and I can restore to stock 1.2 after 8 un-successful reboot.
repair path?
so in order to fix this issue I must
1. in CWM wipe all and re-flash stock 1.2
2. update to 1.3,
3. run MN 4.5.18 and then 4.6.16a
4. download TB from market
5. uninstall Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR
6. Flash "Adobe Fix"
7. RE-install Adobe Flash and AIR
Is this the way to go?

Thats what worked for me, though my sequence may have been a little different (I updated to 1.3 with an already rooted 1.2).
I just flashed CM7 on to my OB and am experiencing what I think is a bootloop? The CM7 bootlogo keeps playing over and over again.. what can i do to resolve this?
SelfKang version of CM?
PS: Wrong thread to asking question.
Oops sorry! I thought this was the right thread.
Anyway, I flashed the lastest version of CM7. SelfKang 7 - 2.
Is there a way to boot into recovery while having this problem? Because I read on the CyanogenWiki that the solution is to boot into recovery & reflash. But from what I understand the OB does not have a key combination to boot into recovery. :/
Have you tried to remove batt and retry?
Yea..I removed the battery and tried to boot again but each time, it just gets stuck at the CM7 bootlogo. I thought it was because it takes longer on its initial boot, but after leaving it there for 20 mins, there was no progress.
In addition to that, when I leave the phone off & try to charge my phone, again the CM7 bootlogo is shown.
Should I just reflash stock LG firmware and try again? I really want to do that only as a last resort. :/
Reflash stock firmware using THIS method.
Well, I managed to get it working after reflashing stock firmware and flashing CM7 again
But it seems that I am unable to install certain apps such as Google maps, Gmail, Google+ etc. I was able to install them before, is there a reason they cannot be installed?
When I say unable to install, I mean that when I search for the app on the market, all results are displayed except the particular app that I want to install. :/
After installing CM7 ROM you SHOULD install google apps zip in CWM, not download them from market...
Yes I did, but all I got from flashing that zip was the Google Market? Or did I do it wrongly? Did anyone here installed the Google Apps and got google +, google maps etc?
Oops! Sorry! Regarding the issue of not being able to install apps like Maps and g+..I managed to find them afterall.
Turns out it just didn't appear at the top of the search results like it used to.
Thanks to everyone who offered your help! ^^
Hi, I'm a noob for messing with my phone.
Although I have googled for 7+ hours I have found nothing that helped me, only things that **** me over.
So here is the story:
I decided to install Cyanogenmod 10 on my device. That worked out okay and stuff, but I couldn't install gapps. It said everything was ok but when i started CM10 gapps wasn't there. I tried 10-20 diffrent versions of CM10, all with gapps and diffrent versions of gapps but it didn't work.
Then I installed CWM. I installed CM10 + Gapps with CWM. Then I tried rebooting my device. CWM booted up. CWM boots up everytime I try to boot the device. I googled and found a file, exitrecovery.zip. I installed that via CWM but it didn't work. So, after some more googleing I found a thread on here that said to flash Boot_loader.tar onto my phone via Odin Multi Downloader. Of course, I messed that up. I tried to flash it using "PDA" instead of "BOOT". So that didnt work. I flashed it again using "BOOT" but now it shuts down after the Samsung text on screen.
I am about to attempt to flash the stock OS into my device using the Package option in Odin (Luckily Download mode still works).
Is using Package the correct way to flash the stock OS into my phone?
When I have it working again I want to install CM10 with gapps. Why didn't gapps install?
How can I install gapps correctly?
How do I get out of the CWM boot loop?
Someone please help me because I don't know what to do anymore!
EDIT: Succesfully flashed in stock firmware. But how do I install CM10 and have gapps working?
Thanks in advance,
-Spore
Easyest way to rescue your phone is to flash 3 file ROM with pit and re-partition.
one of many guides is here
Use one of multicsc ROMs (i'd use JVZ)
Then it gets little tricky when getting to CM10
First of all flash semaphore kernel for JVZ (google it)
Then I'd go through CM9 stable to CM10. Flashing guides are easy to find
Edit. Maybe u're using wrong Gapps? for CM10 gaps are from 20120606 (or something like that - newest are for cm10.1)
Got it working!
I figured everything out on my own.
Here's how I did it for anyone with the same problem:
Download the files ill list below.
Put them all on your phone's internal SD
Boot into Recovery Mode
Install CMW6014-TOUCH-CM9recovery.zip
Reboot into Recovery Mode
Clear everything.
Install cm-10-20130130-ivendor-alpha7-ariesve.zip
Install gapps-jb-20121011.zip
Reboot.
And you're done!
Files are listed down below. Since I'm a new user i have to put a dot in the URL.
The only other file you'll need is fs1.d-h.st/download/00026/J34/cm-10-20130130-ivendor-alpha7-ariesve (dot) zip
does this work for cm9?

Hello, thank you for posting this. I noticed that the one file that you said we should download looks like it is for cm10. is that correct? I have cm9.
Also, what do you mean by "clear everything"?
{EDIT} I figured it out. For any other user that has this problem-- you must ensure that you are using the correct version of gapps as others have noted.
In OP's answer to his own question, he used cm10. and the appropriate gapps for jelly bean. That didn't work for me since I was using ICS. Do not use the file he listed for cm10 unless you mean to install that specific version of cm10, which probably won't work for your phone.
Also, google took about 6 hours to recognise my account on the play store. This is apparently a common issue, and I have read multiple threads where people are not seeing their device linked up to their account after upgrading to custom ROMs. The play store app worked on my phone, but not when using an outside device linked to that account (my desktop). I called google support and they said that they had no idea what was wrong, 3 hours later, it just started working.
So be patient if you do not have the option to use the play store from outside sources right away.
Hey guys,
I've got the dreaded "No Connection" error on my Nook HD+. I've tried many things to fix it. I even deleted and reinstalled the store. I tried deleting and reinstalling G-Mail. No luck. One thing I've noticed is that I can't even get G-mail to open. It opens for a couple of seconds and then closes and says "GMail has unfortunately closed".
I'm running CWM 10.2-20131102
Any ideas?
Are you sure you used the right GApps package?
Btw you should really update to the stable version of CM10.2, it works much better for me at least

I tried downloading gapps from another thread I saw and the zip file won't open, (gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip).
You know I tried updating to 10.2.1 via the update and it doesn't work. It downloaded it but when I try to update, Recovery says that it failed to open /sdcard/0/cmupdater/cm-10.2.1-ovation.zip (No such file or directory). The only option it gives me is to install untrusted zip. That sounds scary to me.
Did you try to download the GApps again? Sometimes downloaded files can be corrupted.
About the Update:
Try to flash it manually then, but do a factory reset first..
You think you already have the right recovery as you are able to boot the CM10.2 Snapshot, so here is the links you need, so that you don't have to search for them again:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=ovation

Thanks for the help. I've downloaded the gapps and CM zips but I don't know what to do with them. I see them in Root Explorer but I don't know which files to run to use them.
EDIT: I think I've got it figured out. I moved the CM and Gapps zips to my SD card and then flashed them from Recovery. I'll see if that works. Unfortunately I don't have Wi-Fi here at work to check. Looks like I at least have the CM working. I have a different boot screen now, (bummer I liked the old one ). I verified that I'm running 10.2.1-ovation but every time I boot up it tells me that Google Play has stopped working.
I'd say you check again if you downloaded the right GApps version this time, but I guess you did that already...Do the other GApps work? Like Gmail, Maps, etc...
If they do, try to clear its cache. Else you could also get an apk for the play store and install it manually, maybe that will work
