It's simple: I'm looking for an SDHC-support update/hack/driver/other for Blue Angel (Qtek 9090).
Can anybody help me?
Yes, it's rather easy: sell BA, buy sth that supports SDHC out of the box.
More complicated solution: wait until more devices will support SDHC, then sell BA and buy it.
So far we can forget about update of drivers to support SDHC and, what is more probable, device itself is not capable of suppoorting SDHC.
Thanks for you respons even though I don't like the sound of it.
Nothing at all I can do to get my Blue Angel på support SDHC? Nothing?
For sure something can be done
1. Write driver that supports SDHC, if chip inside is capable of reading SDHC cards. If not:
2. Unsolder reader and solder a new one in it's place, that supports SDHC for sure. Then write driver.
In both cases it will be easier and cheaper to just buy new deivce.
BTW: yo you know, that BA reads easily 4GB SD cards, that are not SDHC (a bit out of standard, but still possible)? Maybe it would be enough for you?
Ok. I'll sell the 8 GB SDHC-card and buy another (not HC) SD-card.
Thanks...
From all the technical datasheet I've gathered so far, it's all in the drivers.
Not even the device reader's firmware.
Right now I'm just waiting for a WM5 device that fully supports SDHC so we can lift the driver out of it, but that chance of that is slim as they'll all most liekly be WM6. Anyway, there is a possibility and I'm not giving up that easily.
So when is it possible for a sdhc-driver for Blue Angel to come out? Soon or should I sell my 8 GB SDHC and buy a 4 GB SD?
If you want to have more flash on your BA, you should buy no-SDHC card. Even it there will be any device on WM5 that reads SDHC, there is little chance it will work correctly in WM5 on BA.
And chances of having new device on WM5 are also lower and lower, as WM6 is the mainstream today.
8gb SD
My 8GB SD card (not SDHC) does not work in my BA.
Anyone know if a driver has been released?
Forget about driver. So far.
Where have you bought 8GB SD that is not HC? Any links?
What reader it is compatible with this (rather odd) thing?
8GB SD
fleabay are selling 8gb sd cards.
The readers are sdhc and sd compatible.
prices are around £45 incl reader + del.
what are the chances of a 8gb sd driver?
Does the Athena support SDHC?
AbuGWM5: I don't think there can be SD card that is both SD and SDHC compatible. It's like having a partition formatted both Fat32 and EXT2 at the same time.
hardingt0110: This is BlueAngel forum, isn't it?
The only non HC 8 gig SD cards are MMC. These can be made to work with driver support. It's all in the data transfer. Here's all you ever wanted to know about SD cards http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-i730-i830-i830w/88442-8-gb-card-hunting-tips.html

I just looked on ebay (US and UK) and all the 8 gig SD cards I saw were SDHC. Have a link to one of these cards that are not SDHC?
8gb SD
Here's the link to the 8gb SD card:

Sorry for the mis-understanding: i meant 8gb SD card with a reader that is compatible with SDHC.
MMC just stands for multi-media card. So any memory card falls into that category.
PS buy at your own risk from the above seller he is very slow with delivery approx 4 weeks from USA and his cards may not be x150.
If you really want this 8gb sd card pm me if you'd like to purchase from me.
"8GB Secure Digital™ SD SDHC"
That card will not work in the BA, it's an SDHC card.

MMC is registered name of MultiMediaCard standard, that is separate from SD (but usually compatible), MemoryStick, CompactFlash and other standards.

Hi All,
I have a AT&T Tilt/Kaiser and I was looking at a 32GB SDHC card. I am told that the device should support it but I just wanted to see if someone could confirm this. The only stuff I could find is that it should "technically" work.
The other question I have is about the type. it seems that there are two types now kind of like SD and SDHC? I've run into a few different ones and I'm not sure if they are the same with different marketing or completely different formats.
32 GB Ultra II SDHC
32 GB SDHC Class 6
32 GB SDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
You need a "Micro SDHC" for your Kaiser. To my knowledge, the largest available is 16GB that just came to market (SanDisk)
And if you really want to understand SD flash memory, go here.
I been reading up a lil bit on this since the extended capacity sounds incredible, especially for HD2 users who have no real built in space.
and Wikipedia says SDHC compatible devices can use sdxc with UHS104 speeds, but not with the newer sd 4.0 specification.
Will the HD2 be capable of SD 4.0 with a firmware update or is this solely a hardware incompatability?
Hardware in HD2 will not accept it.
hello
Is there someone who really tested 64 or 128 GB SDXC, on HD2?

Well, unless installing WP 7.5 changes the hardware, that's bollox.
Does anyone know if a HD2 running WM6.5 supports 64GB microSDXC cards? As in has anyone tried it?
The HD2 can only handle up to a 32GB SD card. whether that would be SDXC or SDHC I'm pretty sure that wouldn't matter.

Good
Recognizes the HTC HD2 if micro sd 64 gb and I have a dual boot and I have not given me any problems
To be recognized only be formatted in FAT32
regards
I ordered a 64GB micro-SDXC card from amazon.co.uk a week ago for GBP45.39 (found on HotUkdeals). Arrived today (was listed as "usually despatched within 1 - 4 weeks"), h2testw confirms capacity, and works fine in my HD2 running WM6.5 (Energy ROM), which shows capacity as 60906MB.
I don't understand why so many jump in saying a 64gb card wouldn't work when they obviously haven't tried. i would assume that it work fine as long as its formatted fat32... Any android phone should accept 64gb cards as well. the only difference between sdhc & sdxc is the formatting Im pretty sure. sdxc is formatted exFat of something like that, but its easy enough to reformat anyway you'd like with a computer.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I have the Sandisk 64GB microSDXC Class 6 and it just works as a 32GB Samsung Class 10. The Sandisk is just a little bit slower in Benchmarks but in my phone I can't feel any difference; besides of the double of space. ;-)
SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDXC 64GB works
I installed the Tytung ICS build on a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDXC 64GB.
Works fine! Just needs to be farmatted in Fat32

YES you absolutely can run a 64GB microSDXC in an HD2. At least I can verify that with WM6.5.5. I am using the SanDisk 64GB class 10 micro SDXC card in my HD2. The phone does read the full 64GB and can access it all. You do have to reformat it first as it is in exFAT which can't be read. It needs to be formatted in FAT32. The kicker with that if you try to format in your PC, MS has deemed that FAT32 is 32 GB max and if you use the inbuilt format in any version of Windows, it will only format it in exFAT or NTFS. I also tried using a program called SDFormatter but it would not allow me to format in FAT32 either. There is a way to do it from a DOS command but... I ended up using EaseUS Partion Master Home Edition, which is a free program. It worked a charm, and was very fast as well, Then I xxcopy'ed my SD card contents onto the new 64GB card and installed it in my phone. Both my WM 6.5.5 and my SD Android 2.2 are working perfectly, though the Android may be just a bit slower now and then. Both my 32GB and my 64GB are class 10s. I use XXcopy to keep a backup of my SD card on my computer, just in case. I update the backup every couple weeks or if I have updated anything significantly (which seems to be all the time with Android apps). I am running Core Cell Evo v4.1 and CoreDroid v.08. Here are the links to Partition Master http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm and XXcopy http://www.xxcopy.com/xcpydnld.htm
Here is a screenshot from my HD2 when it was booted into Android.
So very cool, and now my HD2 in both WM 6.5 and Android modes thanks you
128 GB ? OK, will be my next try, then !
I just received my SanDisk SDSDQUA-064G-U46A 64 GB micro SD XC card and been using it for three days now.
To make sure it will work flawlessly, just do the following :
- Use the phone formatting tool (it will format the card in FAT32)
- When restoring your data to the card, don't overwrite the "Application Data" folder nor the "EncFiltLog.menc" file that will have been put on the card root after formatting.
- Check it's Ok by launching an SD android ROM. If you can browse the memory card's contents, you win. Else, just try again from the beginning !
Anyway, both the HD2 and Windows Mobile are fully SD XC compatible, at least up to 64 GB (really NEED to test for 128 GB now ! ), so don't trust people saying they're not !
maybe you can try to partition the SD in multiple partitions of 32GB each... so you can easily use a fat32 file system.
just one question..do is possible to use a 64gb ntfs? Because my SanDisk 32gb class 10 uhs1 is formatted using NTFS and works really well, so I think you could be able to use a 64GB NTFS formatted
I don't think so.
Windows mobile doesn't recognize NTFS (should have been an add-on, if only developpers hadn't stopped producing for this platform), and Android is Linux (Debian) based, so would rather use ext2 / ext3, and of course, FAT and FAT32, that fortunately stay the common links between all worlds...
Edit : Wait, is your card really NTFS formatted ? Windows should automatically choose FAT32 when formatting up to these sizes. I hadn't heard of Windows Mobile being able to read it. It can't read an USB disk in NTFS from Cotulla or Zeno Sloim USB host driver, for instance.
I even tried to format EXFAT32 on my HD2, with no luck. So FAT 32 only, but din't lost room in the process of formatting 64 GB in FAT32. My 32 GB card was almost full, and I earned a full 32 GB storage, so there's no visible cluster waste.
It's even much faster than the old 32 GB card (I bought one of the first that came available form Sandisk), despite the larger volume and allocation tables.
Highly recommended upgrade for people lacking room... It's totally stable, fast and reliable.
Now your idea to format in 2 chunks is good too. Anyway, Windows Mobile could manage them, so why not ? Maybe to be tried when 128 GB cards will become available !
Can i ask you something? I want to buy a new micro sd for my HD2 EU 512 but i read there is compatibility promlem for UHS. Can i use this card "Sandisk 32GB Android Ultra Micro Class 10 SDSDQUA-032G-U46A" with HD2?

Thanks for reply.
I have the same looking one, but 64 GB class 10 and it works a breeze on the HD2, either under Windows Mobile 6.5.x and Android.
What it says on the tin.
I believe the specs say max 32, but I'd love if someone would try it and see if it can read it. I'm really curious, and I'd love to offload all music to my phone and have it all-in-one, as my ipod's DB corrupts every few weeks and it's a huge headache, and it can't intelligently export playlists and etc.
64GB SDXC card works
I purchased the SanDisk Mobile Ultra 64 GB microSD Extended Capacity (microSDXC) Class 6 - 30 MBps Read . The phone didn't recognize it when I put it in and asked me to format the card. Once I did that it works with no problem. I got 59.46GB usable space after that. The phone sees it as sdcard-ext. The SD tools app shows the speed at 6.1 MB/s write speed and 20.9 MB/s read speed.
Ditto, haven't done a speed test with it, but rocking 57 gigs of music on here with a couple gigs free.
Just picked one off of amazon, here goes nothing...
you guys are awesome, glad it can read. Buying one tomorrow.
Just got mine Saturday, works like a charm.
Tested and works for me as well. It did not recognize it as formatted when inserted initially, but once the phone formatted it, it is working fine.
So the question now is, why don't they spec it at 64 instead of 32 GB?

Anything over 32GB is SDXC.
Apparently from what I can garner, SDXC compatibility requires recognition of exFAT formatted cards. Android doesn't have exFAT support yet, and that probably is what's preventing them from branding the phone to support SDXC cards.
These are true 64gb chips, right? Not 32gb x2? I know there were some sd cards back in the day that read higher capacity but were basically two sd cards that interfaced as one.
tabry lwastele
64 GB does work but must be formatted natively first. "officially" they only support 32GB.
Sandisk class 6 64GB here, works perfect

From Wikipedia:
Compatibility with SDHC
SDXC host devices accept all previous families of SD memory cards.[26] Conversely, SDHC host devices will accept SDXC cards that follow Version 3.0, since the interface is identical,[3] but the following issues may affect usability:
SDXC cards are pre-formatted with Microsoft's proprietary and patented exFAT file system, which the host device might not support. Since Microsoft does not publish the specifications of exFAT and its use requires a non-free license, many alternative or older operating systems do not support exFAT for technical or legal reasons. The use of exFAT on some SDXC cards may render SDXC unsuitable as a universal exchange medium, as an SDXC card that uses exFAT would not be usable in all host devices. Since the FAT32 file system supports volumes up to the SDXC's maximum theoretical capacity of 2 TB as well, a user could reformat an SDXC card to use FAT32 for greater portability between computers (see below). FAT32-formatted SDXC cards can be used in a host device built for SDHC if the host device can handle 64 GB and larger volumes.
SDHC host devices will not test the new capability bits defined for SDXC 4.0 cards. It will therefore not be able to use the new features of SDXC, such as transfer speeds above UHS104 (104 MB/s).

What make and model 64GB card are you using?
I just bought a 64GB SanDisk Class 10 that comes formatted exFAT (curse Microsoft with their damned proprietary filesystem and convincing gullible vendors to license it. I'm looking at you Sharp). I stuck it in the Atrix HD and formatted it when prompted at first boot with it in. It was mounted for a bit, but I couldn't write to it and whenever I launched Settings and selected Storage Settings would crash. I just re-partitioned and reformatted it FAT32 in my laptop using a combination of diskpart and Acronis DiskDirector 11 Home. At the moment I am waiting for my files from my old Lexar to be copied to it before I stick it in the Atrix HD again. Will suck if the HD has problems with this card. Can't complain about the brand as SanDisk is one of the inventors of SD cards, including MicroSD.
I'll report back what my experience is.
I thought the Atrix HD was only compatible with SDHC cards (thus 32 GB maximum capacity).
The cards that are 64 GB (and higher) are SDXC, and not compatible.
I got this one when it was on sell a week ago for $43.50 shipped.

Yeah, it isn't just the reviews; Motorola's specs state "Up to 32 GB microSD," but as was pointed out before what they really mean is MicroSDHC cards. However, as these are all extensions of the SD format one would hope that SDXC cards would work. I've seen a few other reports of people using 64GB cards with the HD w/o problems. I'm just curious as to what has been the experience of the people here as they are generally a good deal more tech savvy than on the other forums.
So far the only hiccup I've had is that it wouldn't format the card. Also twice I've tried to unmount and then remount the card, after which the phone thought the card had mounted, but it wouldn't use it. A reboot fixed this each time.

I formatted my card in my phone, put it in my pc and copied 33GB of mp3s, then copied the stuff from off of my old card 23GB, then some tv shows. I watched the tv shows from my phone, deleted mp3s and recorded a movie. I have yet to unmount and remount.
have you tried searching for this? I remember there being a topic about people using 64GB SD cards already in this forum
