Is it ok to flash the gingerbread ruu over the hboot from the s-off procedure? Thanks.
You need to flash a ROM with an equal or lowe RUU version number than the RUU itself, then it should permit you to RUU.
Just a hypothesis, not tested. Should be quite safe.

I also have a true S-OFF IncS (via XTC clip), but with HBOOT 2.0x, I still had to relock the bootloader if I wanted to run an official RUU despite having S-OFF. S-OFF did allow me to flash any RUU without the need for a goldcard, but if I didn't relock the bootloader, the RUU would throw a 155 error, so I am speaking from personal experience.

Seems like I require S-OFF.
Currently I got custom recovery and ROM but it only boots into fastboot until S-OFF is achieved.
HBoot is 1.44 S-ON, locked with tampered flag(Not the new 1.54/1.45 HBoot).
CID has been set to 11111111 and has not been unlocked on HTCDev before.
How would I proceed? or is this a complete paper weight? Phone doesn't have warranty anymore.
Thanks.
Try running an RUU while the phone is connected and in bootloader mode.

Don't use a ruu higher than your main version so you can still s off

I will s-off my phone in few days
Can i downgrade hboot with ruu?

The ruu will reset to stock your phone, not only the hboot.
If you need to change it, flash only the hboot
is ruu work from 2.24 to 1.29?
Sorry about bad english

I'm not sure. If you find you can't, it's now possible to S-Off on HBOOT 1.54/1.55 with a tool called Rumrunner.
I have an At&t One that's s-off, unlocked bootloader, and superCID. Which RUU do I use and what other things do I need to do before I flash an RUU? I'm fairly new to RUU's, the zips make since to me but I'm not sure about the real thing. (One reason why I liked Samsung. Odin was so easy)

Post in ATT forum. They can help you more. But since you are Soff, you can practically flash any ruu file.
As title,
Is it possible to flash a stock 4.2.2 rom on this hboot?
Wanting to downgrade my hboot but do not want to have a soft brick afterwards, so I want to have a ROM and recovery on there already compatible with the downgraded hboot.
Thanks

Got one, I'm just scared of bricking my device again as I tried flashing firmware from 3.xx to 5.xx and ended up bricking it.
Will this happen on the way down too?
Is it as simple as flashing firmware.zip, then a custom recovery and then a custom rom or guru reset?
