I have some clock widgets but all of them show wrong time? I found out a possible problem that an aggressive task killer may close the widget app so it shows a stop time. is it could be solved by using that build prob? I mean whether I could lock the clock widget app?

Anybody come up with a solution to this? I've tried this and everything else suggested across forums and boards online and nothing has helped.
Any alternatives to this? Is it possible that I did something wrong?

[Q] anyone know this process?

there is a process that is using way more battery than anything and draining my phone. i am using cm 6.1
the process i found in spare parts partial wake usage... uid 10135
i cant for the life of me figure what this is...
i even Googled and still..... nothing.
I believe every phone assigns uids uniquely. You'd have to find an app that tells you what apps are running and their uid
What's the difference between "uid" & "pid"? Auto mem killer tells you the pid....don't know if that helps.

Been a while since I ran CM6, so I can't remember if this is a feature of android,
or a feature of Sense UI, but in "About Phone > Battery > Battery Use", it tells
what's been using the battery. I can't remember if that will show applications,
or just hardware that's consuming the battery. I'm sure that some of the task
killer applications will also tell you some detailed info about what processes are
running
hope that helps narrow it down.

How bout you use your brain.I am NOT using a task killer.I am talking about clearing the ram in the samsung program monitor widget(stock one).If there is a way to exclude it from being cleared then please do tell.It never happened with previous versions of gingerbread or froyo. And wtf i expect a intelligent composed reply not a post that is rude and bloody ignorant.

[Q] Why Does Sense 3.0 Weather Fc

I keep getting com.htc.weather fc how can that be fixed, i cleared the data and all that stuff. The app loads up but when i add city or try to do anything on it it fc?
Maybe because you don't have and can't have sense 3.0 on the hero
If wasn't suppose to work it wouldn't boot up.

Another take on that would be, if it was supposed to work, it would.

That makes no sense. Weather isn't a necessary apk for Sense to run, so it would have no effect on the phone booting or not.

You need to go into airplane mode to turn off the data, then you need to click on the weather (or app) and go into the menu and disable the sound effects. It won't let you do it while data/wifi is enabled...it will just crash.
I got this from Thoughtlesskyle's Sensible_salsa thread. I have had to use this fix on the last couple builds of the 2.3.3 with 2.1 sense.

Delay in opening of Phone and Contacts

I'm running stock ics 4.0.3 rooted with GL Notecore Kernel v 3.15.
i'm getting a lag in opening the dialer and contacts. Is there any way this can be corrected ? Please help.
Have u tried to clear contacts data or cache from settings.. applications...contacts. ?
U may also try another dialer other than stock dialer and contacts as Go Contacts, this may solve all of ur problems..

same here...I've just learned to live with it.
There must be some way to speed up the process. can't we odex the two applications alone for better performance ?
Edit : Can someone who can work with the file-system odex phone and contacts .apk based on this and repost the files.
Actually on my friends sgs2 its opens very quickly

Exactly, but with the note running better specs, it must open faster. I don't know what's wrong in here. Hope this thread finds a solution.
Can someone turn the spot light in here. please.
Help wanted. Some dev please help.

I'm no dev but it's common for the contacts or phone application to open with a 1 or 2 seconds delay if they are started for the first time. Every succeding start is considerably faster. Do you use a task killer? Next time you want to open the contacts or phone application take a look at a task manager whether the corresponding apps are already running in the background or at least cached. If they are they should open almost immediately. If they are not what you described is absolutely normal.

Hi guys,
I was experiencing the same problem so I tried some other apps and I found one that in my opinion is the best - exDialer (it's free)
It opens very fast, has all functionallity of the stock dialer, and has also skinning capabilities, which I set to ICS (blue fonts on black background).
Give it a try - I hope it helps you!
I tried it. But then having two applications to perform the same task becomes useless ri8. Just one doubt, why a powerful device with 1.4Ghz process. A full gig if Ram take so long to process a simple app and that too a system app.?

I don't know the reason of the lag - but it is there and is really annoying. I had exactly the same thought as you - but I think this is related to TouchWiz UI.
Regarding having two apps for the same task is no problem to me - I just defined the exDialer as default and the stock dialer never comes up again.
And for me is common to have more than one app for the same task - I have 3 browsers, 3 e-book readers, 2 RSS organizers, 2 file browsers, and so on.
What I do is to try many different apps and eventually I find the ones that best suit my needs and then uninstall the others.

Does the stock s3 contact app open faster? If yes we can use that.

I had the same problem, while on Criskelo rom. I've gone to 4.0.4 , rooted and speedmod 3-6 kernel , and now I dont have this issue anymore. However, I belive that if you close your dialer, or contacts by using the back key, instead of Home key, you will always have this "lag". You should close your contacts and phone app , by pressing the home key.
