Did you logcat your build? Try finding a suitable kernel from other ports and ask permission from the dev.
Cheers
We should wait the DHD kernel release ,would be easier to port ?

For the p990 we have the v3 dual boot....
Not sure it is applicable on your device
But even there both have to be on the same boot loader...either the old one or the new one one.....
Make a backup and try...but don't blame me or others

I am looking for a ROM that has a nice theme, and is cleared of the Built-in apps that came with the stock OS.
I've tried ReVolutionMod 3.1, but cannot get wifi to work
I also see that CM10 does not have wifi support (because HTC hasn't released source for the driver, or the driver itself?)
I am a little confused about this phone because I thought it had an ICS stock distribution, however mine came with Eclair I beleive.
Could I be pointed to the working ROMS?
Thank you

The working roms are the ones that are based on ICS with or without sense.
HTC hasn't released the source code for the driver.
The desire C is retailed with ICS, as far as I know there haven't been android 2.2 Desire C's.
WiFi should be working flawlessly on your device, although you can try posting a logcat maybe some of the devs could point you to the solution.
I'll take a look at it if you are willing to post it here and see if i could figure out the problem.
Just install a custom kernel like the Prometheus in my signature. Then wifi should work with the Revolution Rom !
I'm not sure what happened with ReVolution, but I was getting "Error" in the little wifi widget persistently, and wasn't able to connect. Sorry I didn't get a logcat for it.
I ended up flashing Slim-Sense-v1, which I'm not sure is the best choice, but it seems stable for now.
Is there a good directory of these ROMS that is kept up-to-date? It seems very scattered and sparse over these forums and other sites for this phone.
Just download one click tool ( however) and put kernel in kernel folder then click boot to bootloader and click flash kernel and WiFi should work.

BOOT.IMG
You have to flash the boot.img included inside the rom...The one which is in root of the folder that is of 800 mhz and if your phone gets in bootloops with that just go in folder named Kernels and then flash any of the 2 kernels then your phone should boot up and WiFi should work
Hit THANKS IF I HELPED YOU

I have tried all the three boot.img files of nameless 7.2.4 rom. The one clocked at 800MHz does not boot. The two others boot the device, but still wi-fi error.
I tried also the boot image of revolutionmodv.3.5. It even does not boot the device (bootloop at htc logo).

Thanks man. I tried it, and many others before. None of them solves wi-fi erro with my stock rom.
I do have a handset from Virgin Canada. Does it make sense that the boot.img should come from the stock of Virgin?

I have no idea if virgin canada is the issue but heres a link to a canadian rom . In that thread is another link for a rom .canadian rom I guess you need to see if there is a boot.img in there that will help .
What we have kinda seen on here is most wifi issues are solely boot.img issues.
Can you have to appreciate I'm at best clueless and and worst dangerous rofl.
Hopefully , just hopefully one of the guys with the knowledge will see my spammage in this section and come to our rescue lol
hope you can get this sorted . I'll pop by in a couple of hours and if you,ve had no luck I'll pm a few of the guys to pop into the thread

Thanks man. Much appreciated your help.
I just thought that the origin of boot.img may help - but I'm not the expert
The link to the canadian stock rom is broken - the file has been removed.

Hi! Am planning to change my 7.2 Nameless Rom. I was thinking to update it for a newer version but before i would do so i would like to try a rom without SENSE. Is it possible to find and download one? I tried to find without any success. Does it exist one at all?
Thanx!!!

SensationalRomv4 and Prometheus kernel are a great combination
and good enough for daily use
Hi all,
I've heard of the SiyahKernel for the I9300 which has dual boot functionality.
Does anybody know if this works on the I9305? Or is there a dual boot kernel available which is made for the I9305 in special?
Reason why I want to have dual boot:
I'm a huge Ubuntu fan. And what I've understood from what I've read is that it's CM(10?) based. So I'd like to use that as second rom. (I know, there isn't a version for the I9305 available right now, but I'll give it a try to port it from I9300 to the I9305.)
Thanks in advance.
As far as I was aware there is no dual boot yet for our device
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda app-developers app
If their is then its in Development .

Does it take much time to make a kernel which supports dual boot ?
Does anybody know how to port a kernel from I9300 to the I9305 ? Is it hard work to do that ?
And why does the 1GB extra and LTE support make such a difference for ROMS on the device ?
Thanks in advance.
Its not so much the difference as developers actually wanting to work on the phone . Nobody pays them its their choice what to develop . jje

1. Thats not REALLY hard, however you have to know what to do. Looking and comparing sources is good point to start. Take a look at gokhan or googy commits about dual boot for example.. Personally, I havent been interested in it, but I might look into it, why not
2. Apart from these, we have other radio, and that causes so much trouble with ROM differences..

It's cool that we have radio, but.... why do we need it ? seriously... we all have a mobile network subscription these days
Couldn't we just drop that in the beta/alpha versions, and add it in later then ? ;s

I mean, another radio, like baseband, ril etc. I wasn't talking about normal FM radio (we haven't even got one in i9305).
However, taking only these proper files (like ril + modem) from our ROMs and take them to i9300 ROMs might work, I tried some time ago doing same thing with temasek's cm10.1 and it worked.. Unfortunately I wasn't able to compile fully stable and well working kernel (based on temasek's sources) therefore I do not use it now ;p

is there an official lg update to 4.2.2?
As of yet there is no word on an official 4.2.2 update, but that may change. I have my doubts though.
As for custom recovery, it's unlikely that we'll be able to install custom recovery at all, as we currently don't have a proper means of compiling a custom kernel.
TL;DR: It highly unlikely.
i'm pretty sure flashing a custom recovery doesn't have anything to do with compiling a kernel.
maybe we'll get 4.3.
I'm sorry, sometimes the way I word things make more sense in my own head. We don't really have any proper sources from Mediatek to work with at this point. Although, I'm trying reverse engineer what's already there. Also, there's no 'bootable' bootloader to try and work with either. It's a pain in the proverbial.

Did you know lg has released complete sources for e455/460? I mean kernel and everything. http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/index
Cwm shouldn't be so hard to be done, for someone who knows how. They compiled cwm for lg l7 ii: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2413951 If you have the time, speak with the one that helped them and ask him to help us get recovery too. It doesn't matter if we have mtk for making cwm work.
