Hi everyone,
Semi-experienced guy here, played around with my old Aria lots but haven't really done much to the new Vivid besides unlocking the bootloader and installing CWM.
I ran the S-OFF program, worked like a charm. Then I flashed wcxrecovery, no problems there. Then I loaded the PH139 update file to prepare for an ICS custom ROM, and that loaded everything OK. I hit reboot, and now the phone will not go past the initial HTC boot screen. No loops, just stays on that screen. Neither ADB nor fastboot will recognize the phone.
So, how do I extricate myself from this situation?

Never mind, got myself out of panic mode and I'm booting up ICS now.

Ok so I rooted my hero, but i accidentally tried to load a custom rom with out flashing a recovery image. So when i tried to do that, i forgot to uncheck the debugging setting. so basically its stuck on the htc screen. i can boot into recovery mode if i hold down the volume down button, but if i hit reboot, it goes back to the htc screen.
when i went into recovery mode, i read one of the lines and it says that there is no recovery image. i tried to run the stock RUU, but my computer will not recognize the device so the RUU wont run. does anyone have any ideas?
any help is appreciated. thanks
have you install HTC sync? if not go to sprint.com/download and then smartphone then pick your phone you should see HTC sync

yeah, i got that. i was able to flash the RUU, but it didnt solve my problem. still gets stuck at the htc screen.
good thing is that i can still get to the recovery screen.
i even tried flashing the sprint 2.1 ruu, but the problem remains. now the htc screen is white with green letters.
EDIT:
a couple of things i noticed. when the recovery mode first starts running, it says something like checking sd card...then its says no image.
also, up at the top left of the screen, third line. it says "touch panel-fail" struck me as odd.
Try this. Not sure if it will work since you flashed the 2.1 RUU, but it's worth a try.
Recently picked up a HTC Raider from Rogers, played around with it and decided to root it. Rooted my Acer A500 previously without problems so had some understanding. Had to use supertool to get root as I got errors using the other method in the super guide. Was going to install vjraider rom and did the kernal but now the phone wont boot up. Gets stuck on the white HTC screen. I can get into H-Boot but when I select recovery I get stuck on a screen with a phone and the red triangle exclamation mark. Tried searching around but haven't found anything relating to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated
sounds to me that you do NOT have recovery on it. did you unlock your bootloader?
Yup bootloader is unlocked. I managed to get it a recovery mood by using fastboot and putting the recovery.img in the ph391img.zip and i got into CWM 5.5.0.4 installed the rom after all the wipes and now I got a boot loop... Im thinking I must have somehow removed the kernel when I used fastboot
Flashed the kernel for the rom again in fastboot and now everything seems to work. Rom is up running with everything seeming good so far.
Hey yall!
So I'm brand new to android and flashing. I unlocked with htcdev, rooted, and then installed stock rooted deodexed so that i could be
able to sim unlock from what I read in another thread. Currently running 4.3. After I installed the rom and rebooted I get the htc brilliantly screen
followed by the sprint logo, then back to an htc logo. Then the home screen shows but when you swipe to unlock it goes straight to a white screen
with htc logo in green. Then keeps rebooting itself. I tried flashing new roms and kept doing the same to all except Ecliptic. I didn't know about the s off or on thing so I checked and the phone had s on. I used rum runner and it worked so now its s off. All adb, fastboot, drivers, and other files are up to date. I started to flash using adb sideload because I couldn't get to move the file over to internal storage on pc. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hey,
Well.. I too got the same thing recently lol..
Download RUU and run it. Take backup of all your apps, etc from your sd card as RUU wipes everything!
You aren't bricked if you can still get I to your boatloader and recovery. Easiest thing would probably be to start over with a RUU. You have to relock your bootloader then run the RUU. Then you can unlock and try to flash a Sprint Rom. Watch out flashing gsm or non sprint roms though. THAT can brick your device

thanks for the replies. I'm going to relock the bootloader and run RUU utility to get back to stock. I'll then retry to load a new rom later on in the day if this works.
I have the HTC Vivid on stock firmware until recently it started to shut down by itself, so I decided to try some roms. I unlocked the bootloader, and then installed the clockworkmod recovery. It remained on S-ON. I tried the cyanogenmod 10, MIUI, and bunch of other roms, they all freeze after starting up, like as soon as I can see the initial set-up screen. It goes past the boot. Sometimes I even have time to go into the launcher and click on things before it freezes. Then after a few seconds it reboots. I tried to run RUU, but it fails as well. Any ideas what should I do?

Yes, I did flash boot.img from extracted zip of the rom. I also tried TWRP recovery, same result.
I tried loading in Elementalx custom rom in, but it took my HTC ONE to a blank screen. I then relocked the phone, and couldn't do anything with it. I re-unlocked my HTC ONE M7, but phone still goes to blank screen. Computer recognizes phone, and phone sounds like it starts, because it makes all the sounds when you turn the phone on. I unlocked the phone, and rooted it. I loaded the recovery in, and put in Update Superuser 2.0, and still get blank screen. Can anyone help as to why it has gone to blank screen, and can I reload original stock and from where.
Flash kernel again or different kernel
from HTC One
Had a similar issue, if you're rooted and have custom recovery installed then just flash a custom ROM (I recommend ARHD), should fix it, after the phone up and running again go back to recovery and try to flash the kernel.
