Can anybody give me instructions to revert the galaxy back to 2.2 after upgrading it to 2.3?

Download a froyo firmware from Samfirmware.com and repeat the same process u did while upgrading to gingerbread..

FIRST
DOWNLOAD A FIRMWARE WITH FULL FLASH FILES FOR EG : i will take this
S5570BUKB1 because it has all the files require to downgrade SGM to 2.2.1
flash it with odin while using the same tass.ops file for the downgrade
the flash it again with
S5570DDKC1
for getting samsung galaxy pop indian version
and walla back to your original phone

So i have done this to 10 of our staff phones (gone back to 2.2.1 because of an acceleration bug in 2.3) but my computer crashed mid thru phone 11, and is now the phone is completly un-responsive, no download mode. no recovery, nothing,
Any advise?

First, try connecting it to a charger. If no go, try removing the battery and press the power button for 10 seconds without the battery. Attach the battery back and then try to power it on again.
If you can't get it to power on even in Download mode, I guess it's probably bricked.
Not sure if the jig method will work though..

Hey guys. I have emanon v4 on my mini and i want to downgrade to 2.2 official but to be able to upgrade to 2.3 official from kies. Is that possible ?
My baseband is S5570XXKPI, kernel [email protected] #1 and the built number is GINGERBREAD.WMKPJ
Hope someone can help me . Thanks in advice

Install 2.2.1 for your region. S5570XWKA7 / S5570XWKAB / S5570XWKB2 can be your choice.. Instructions on how to flash through Odin is also there.. Read and search the blogs.. I know all the resources you need are there.. Best of Luck!

As you want to downgrade from Android 2.3 to 2.2, you need to flash any stock FROYO ROM having 4 files using ODIN first... then flash your regional stock 2.2 over it (if its not already the 4 file ROM you flashed)...

I also wanted to flash the ics lpy. But I changed the mood deu to many painful Brick story here.
Better to wait and stay with stock GB.
Even official ics update releases I am not going to update till things will shortout.
Anyways you can do whatever you want to do because it is your device.
But please read, read, read before doing anything.

ok i am on the new LPF rom flashed from lpy without any wipes at all with pc odin so far so good i dont really use large files so deleting them is not an issue,i have not not wiped dalvic or anything,i have however flashed modem lp6 with mobile odin as it seems more suited to me in the uk i now have 3g showing more than i did,all s apps work great i used the temp cwm in order to gain root so that ad blocker could be used and of course mobile odin used app backup and restore to put back my apps and the import restore for contacts

i have indeed read it am not new to flashing testing etc i know the risks all i can say is my findings it works well for me maybe i am lucky maybe not time will tell

I just rooted my phone and downloaded Beats audio for my phone
After installing this app i found it reduced my Normal sound system? and my equalier App is not working?
how to remove this driver some one help me?? or how should i reflash my galaxy mini 2.3.6?? I upgraded it in Samsung Service store help me! :crying:

yeah, to get rid of it you have to re-flash android. don't expect to be sppon-feeded, just google it...

or else if u have installed clockwork mod then u can flash anyother custom rom too

Kies Issue with Updating

Hi guys.
Been a while since i posted but here is the situation:
My friend has a s5830 and its still on froyo! 2.2.1. Completely stock (not even rooted). She asked me to help as when plugged into kies it says:-
"devices firmware not supported to update via kies"
its shows firmware version kb7 kb1 kb6 (h3G)
Now i know i can flash using odin (know my way around an ace like the back of my hand) but she doesnt want me to do that. All im trying to find out is why Kies says this?
Any ideas?

If you mean sim unlocked then yes. She just tried another carrier sim card and it worked.

how did you resolve this?

There isn't a way to solve that issue as far as I no, the open sim mobiles get updated last or rarely updated so I had to update manually through Odin

Use odin ... Lie to her and she will thanks u for it !! And tell her and its true ... Odin is safer then kies !

Haha, I know this, you know this but seeing as she sits next to me at work and that is where i will do it she might just notice! If i had my way it would already be flashed with CM9/10!

Beven using it since it same out so bit bored of it to be honest. But your right its more stable / functional.

There's a new apocalypse rom due to come out with in the next couple of days its already been tested and sounds good so far I'm going to flash it as soon as its out

Screw stock roms. Flash CM 7.2 stable (download from CyanogenMod official site) and you will have GB 2.3.7 with tons of options and features. Everything works in that rom and after flash is fully working, no need to do anything. Better than this? Hope you find a solution. Bye

Thanks for your reply, I know CM is great, I use it on my ace and note. The point of this thread was to find the reason why a friend ace cannot be updated by using Kies......

So it is the right rom? I have read alot about this how to do it.
but what I read was the preview version does not work with camera an wifi, its written that it was fixed but I dont see that version just the earlier and that i last linked in my first question. if that was the right version.
but about Swedish, does it not contain the language? i can not find how do add other languages more than googleplay keyboard in swedish.

+1 that rom is amazing best 4.2.2 rom i've seen

Bazinga sounds amazing reading the few pages! I think that version might be something to try out first! :laugh:
And it still has support for Swedish?

Oh, forgotten to ask, can someone test to use the phone as a modem with the custom rom and see if the "Bazinga"?

If you are asking about connecting thru internet by using gprs/2g/edge on your mobile carrier...yes it does work...

It's really easy. Just connect your phone with USB Cable, go to settings then go to "More..." after that press Tethering and Portable hotspot then tick USB Tethering.

I got Odin 4.38 and ClockworkMod Rom Manager. Is this the right ClockworkMod? I was thinking of following this tutorial.

NO ! Don't use ROM Manager !!

Now for my last question, the Bazinga, I understand it does not contain the apps so I have to download "GAPPS" and install separatly, but how about Google Play?
I found in the post someone posted gapps http://donandroid.com/gapps but does it contain Google Play?

Thank you. Now I am confused. When I got my Samsung Galaxy Mini today, I just saw it's named Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570I. What I understand this is not the same and can not use the same rom?

Dont use rom manager cause you might brick your mini..search for gapps lite on xda..its working so smooth and fast when using playstore..
