yes it work very well, but you need to remove the DSP Manager
as far i using DSP Manager and happy with that, but it has some distortion when changing the song,so i decided to find other mod that can replace it

i never think that it works on stock or froyo,so do with your own risk.because it based on gingerbread and some file from ICS with some modification

After upgrading to 4.1.1 stock ROM, one thing I missed is CM9's dsp equalizer. So I created a CWM flashable zip for it.
You can download from HERE
* My blog post - http://androidtweak.in/apps/cm9-dsp-manager-for-any-ics-jb-rom/
Go to application info of SoundFX and disable it, if you want to set DSP manager as default equalizer.

I test this DSP on android 4.2.2 everything works..
It`s working even on n7000, 4.1.2 deodexed Many thanks!
Thank You Much!
Moved my GS3 back to stock 4.1.1 and flashed. Worked perfect!
s3 1747m
bro l got s3 1747m lte rom stock 4.1.1, does the file zip work for me?
(If you wish to run this on 4.3 replace the DSP manager with the new version from CM 10.2 and it should work properly, discontinued from now onwards)
These files added to any aosp/aokp/pac/carbon rom will make your sound come out with more treble and bass, without distorting as many roms do I've been using them with aosp roms that annoy me with their sound quality, as well as fixing sound it adds DSP manager and Apollo to your rom, seeing as this is my first mod upload i haven't made a flashable zip, but if anyone's willing to make one and pass it here ill upload it. in the .rar file youll find folders to overwrite in your system folder, you can do it with root browser (free on the market) or by dragging them into a rom.zip file before flashing. enjoy & don't flash these on any other device as it may end up making the device unusable (C6603 has been tested so far and the C6602 MAY work, backup before using this)
UPDATE: now working with apollo
So, anyway, here's the Download link enjoy and happy flashing
NOT TESTED; FLASHABLE ZIP Courtesy of Miustone go give him a thanks
WARNING: This will NOT work on stock sony roms only AOSP/CM/PAC ETC.
WARNING2: AGAIN this is NOT a FLASHABLE zip you must copy the contents manually or insert them into an existing rom.zip before flashing a rom.
WARNING3: I cannot stress enough how important it is to backup before using this. ALWAYS BACKUP before modding ANYTHING.
Which setups this mod has been tested on (Yes/No)
C6603 : Y :good: (Working)
C6602 : N (Unknown if working or not)
AOSP : Y :good: (Working)
AOKP : Y :good: (Working)
PAC : Y :good: (Working)
Bluetooth : N (Should work but unknown)
4.3 : Y :good: (Working)
Apollo : Y :good: (Working only tested on 4.3)

I'm attempting to and failing at it.
Should probably add for some reason the audio mods aren't working with apollo... they're working with play music though sorry guys
Making compatible with 4.3 leak...
Will you be making one for stock roms? 423 specificallY?

I might look into it in a few days.
Edit: It doesn't look like it. Besides, I'd recommend using PureXAudio on Stock.
So I have no sound after copying each file. Wtf.

Thanks that's really appreciated, i've been too busy working on 4.3 for the galaxy S 3
i'm currently using EXTRA_VOLUME_BOOST_AOSP.zip by ZeroInfinity on AOKP... will this increase the ringing volume as well??
thanks
Hello. Thanks for this. Only thing I'm not liking about PAC ROM is the quiet speaker. Seems after installing the zip there is no difference. How can I tell if bits working?
Edit: in root explorer I have a the files in hw lib and sound fix are date modified 1/8/2008. Everything else is 27/7/2013. I have to assume it worked. Although using external speaker seems no different will need to test headphones.
Hey
After flashing the zip file the sound is much better than before!
Thx for that.
But! If I change settings in the DSP Manager the sound doesn't change either in Apollo or Play Music.
I'm an AOKP (Android 4.2.2) nightly from 2013-08-21.
Maybe someone have a solution
It is because they have tunnelaudio playback activated. This is DSP based decoding with audio straight to dacs. There is no way you can have an eq in software.
Too busy to keep maintaining this, have it running on 4.3.1 but it's not much different than what people offer as standard for the XZ anymore so it's pointless. Would appreciate a thread close.
When I change the settings in DSP Manager it does nothing to the sound. I am on the Kang 4.2.2 ROM CM 10.1 and the built in DSP controls do nothing. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

I had the same problem i googled the download for the soundfx files for DSPManager and replaced the ones on my device and that helped a bit the best thing to use is the Equalizer if you raise the first two they are bass :3
Here is a link follow the instructions. http://iandrohacker.blogspot.com/2013/02/how-to-install-dspmanager.html
Its because our device hates audio mods.. aka dsp manager.. and other audio things..

The link I put up there worked for me try it and let me know if it does.
This allows you to use the same AudioFX equalizer app included in CM12.1 in our stock roms
The zip will also remove DSP Manager installed as well as MusicFX equalizer so AudioFX will be default
Tested on CM One stock ROM with BlackBox 9.0.
Should work in all Stock ROMs. Not tested with custom ROMs.
Instructions:
Download zip file from attachments
Flash through custom recovery (Philz, TWRP, CWM)
Reboot
Press thanks if I helped!
Big shouts to CyanogenMod team, all credits to them.
Enjoy!
+1
