Hi all,
I am still running stock 2.3.6 but I am thinking about unlocking my phone to run CM. Anyway, I have been browsing through the dev CM7 thread and found that there are a lot of random reboots, lockups and other problems in the 7.1 stable release. I am thinking that installing the an older nightly perhaps would give me a better experience. Which nightly would you recommend?
Thanks.
I think its not good to stay on
a single nightly because there are few tweaks with every new nighty which makes it better from last one.
Anyway I recommend you to try cm7.1 rc1 before trying nightlies
For some time.

On my N1 Cm 7.1 is stable to but playing videos in flash full screen causes so many lock ups, i hope cyanogen would release a minor update for it

I'm one latest nightly, build 227. Very good and stable for me.
Just make sure you do a clean wipe including system partition
when coming from a different ROM.
Thanks guys! Do you know of a bug tracking page that lists all the bugs that CM7.1 currently has?
Thanks.
Not a bug tracker, but I find this page very useful and visit it daily to see if I want to upgrade to the latest nightly or not: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=passion
Looks like the latest nightly is marked as 7.1.0.1... #227 as baseballfanz said. Maybe that will fix the problems you mentioned... however, I will note that I've been running 7.1 stable since the day it was released (nightlies before that) and have had zero problems at all. No lockups, no reboots, no problems at all no matter what I do with it...
7.1.0.1 is a maintenance release for a few devices. The N1 was not included in this list. And most of the reboots and instability issues with the stable release are resolved when people perform full wipes of the phone. It has been rock solid for me.
Thanks guys... I have installed CM71 Nightly 231 last night. It was going smooth at the beginning but I got stuck on flashing Amon_Ra recovery. For some reason my phone wasn't taking the CM themed version but the original version installed fine.
First problem after flashing the ROM and gapps was Market wasn't downloading apps for some reason. I think it was because the phone was reinstalling all the apps at the same time and it just couldn't handle the load. I had to install the apps one after another and that got through it.
The phone rebooted itself when I played a video for the first time, but it's been working rock solid so far. Now I'll have to figure out how to use S2E!
Thanks!
I just noticed this now and I'm not sure why this happened, but the gallery app is missing from touchpad as in it's completely gone and not even installed. Before I was using the latest alpha for the touchpad, but on 5/13 I decided flash to that nightly build and I flashed the most updated gapps at the time. It was a few days ago where I noticed it was gone and I'd like to know what to do to get that back.
Also, I should mention that at one point when I was using one of those alpha builds, there was a point where I actually had two gallery's listed under all apps and I actually deleted one of them. The gallery app still remained installed on the touchpad after doing that.
Thanks.
Greetings everyone this is my first post i tried searching but i couldn't find the right anwsers so I'm sorry if i missed something.
I'm running cm10 nightly but not the latest and im running semaphore latest kernel and now i want to update my nightly using the updater that comes with it i did a nandroid backup in CWM just in case and did the update first i noticed that my semaphore kernel got replaced with the cm stock one and then i noticed that my wifi bara were gray and google apps didnt work and all my contacts were erased since it didn't connect to my gmail i think then every time i rebooted it said insufficient space some operation didnt finish but it didnt say what i have more than enough space 2 gb at least.
My question is how to do the update properly without losing my kernel or do i have to re flash the kernel everytime I'm sorry I'm quite new at this i just got my i9000
Thank you for all your help in advance

I got a notification to install the update to my cyanogen mod rom from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3. I just checked online for compatibility but Droid 4 was not listed. I checked hashcode's thread and the version is still 10.1.2. I already updated last night. My droid 4 is working, but the changelog is blank. Is it ok if i stick with this ROM or should I go back to the 10.1.2 from hashcode? i mean 10.1.2 wasnt stable for me, the thing shutdown and uninstalled most of my apps and rendering them unfunctional.

I figured it out. It is a Release Candidate version which is close to stable, but not classified as a stable release. I did have one bug, Candy Crush stopped working and a reinstall would freeze Play Store. A reboot fixed it.
So apparently anyone running 4.1 or higher can install and use the new GEL(Google Experience Launcher).
I got it running on my Captivate using CyanogenMod 10.1.3.
You need to have Google Search updated to the latest version. I updated it before I downloaded/installed the GEL apk.

I got it working the day it came out... Its nice for sure, but laggy compared to Trebuchet/Launcher2. I was on CyanAOSP SuperNexus
Very basic Launcher with very limited options.
