I want to go back to gingerbread and wait for a ICS that have working calls.
I dont have a backup of my original rom.
Anyone has a download link for the LP1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 ?
LP1 is an ICS leak. You should look for LC2 or lower.
Check the development section for stock ROMs.
I am new at this
I am new at this peraps you could direct me to the right place.
My Baseband version is N7000XXLP!, even prior to updating to ICS.
See a screenshot i took before:

I would really like to go back to 2.3.6 because the sound is not working with the leaked ics (too much noise) even if i tollgle the noise suppression option.
Phone was rooted before but root has gone with installing the leaked version(My Mistake)
And I didnt backup before updating (Anyway i dont have access to CWM anymore since the phone is no longer rooted)
Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
It's got all the info you need.
Good luck
My baseband is not in there
Thank you but I saw that thread unfortunately my baseband : N7000XXLP1 is not in there
I am novice at this, does it need to be the exact same baseband?

Hello all! Hopefully, I put this thread in correct section. If not, please move it.
Anyway, here is my question.
I installed ROM Manager because I want to try some other ROMs on my SGS i9000 and when I want to flash the CWM Recovery, the only option I get is Google Nexus S. Is this normal? Should it show my model? Can there be any problems if I choose Google Nexus S option?

Thank you!
What ROM are you currently on ? if its a custom ROM you may have the Nexus Drivers, and that could be why it is only showing you that option.
there are many other ways of flashing a custom ROM so dont give up if ROM Manager starts acting up.
i personally prefer a flash with ODIN and all update Flashes through CWM
I recently upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3. Here you can see more info:
As far as i know, this is not a custom ROM, just leaked one. Or am I wrong? I upgraded it with ODIN too and it wasn't hard, I just think it would be even easier, if i didn't have to use the computer and could download ROMs directly on the phone.
Hey, I'm not new to the forum, but new to posting. I've been on the fence with getting gingerbread on my i896 for some time now. I'm bored with waiting for the official release, and decided that I'd dip into the ROM world.
I have read a lot of threads, with a lot of info, with a lot of different terms I'm not familiar with. I'm not new with modding the firmware of devices, just new with doing it to a cell phone.
I see there are quite a few different versions of GB floating about. I'm looking for something close to stock that is stable, and works half decently. I understand that the KF1 and KE3 are leaked versions, but does that mean they don't work as well as say CM7's version?
Here is a link to the latest i897uckh3 Gingerbread "leaked" release. It is pure stock and can b rooted with FuguRoot kernel swap method. Do a lot of reading b4-hand. But I think it would b a good place for u to start.

Did you do ever flash using Heimdall or Odin?
I'd rather go the procedure described for installing the OVERCOME rom. - It's pretty safe and if you follow all steps, you should end up with a fully working device.

I came from Stock GB.
Im used to flashing and wiping with CWM to my hearts content on previous Android devices and have never had a problem. But I am slightly confused to what I can or shouldn't do with CWM so I don't brick my Note.
Is there a safer kernel I should flash that will keep root access?
Can I do a full wipe in CWM prior to flashing other roms? (Im looking at trying out CM9 and a couple of AOKP roms and also a couple of Stock based roms, not Chinese leaked)
I know im probably going to get shot down for asking this and told to search - which i have done and which has just added to my confusion. Im just after a little clarification from the helpful souls here at XDA...

now i have flash the stock light v4 custom rom and inside the zip it have a boot.img file, so it flash a kenrel too. now i have
.
i flash a custom recovery and counter goes to 1. (i dont care about it, i dont have any waranty so i can complete ignore this)
my main reason it was to fix battery drain issue on android os. it seem like i didn't change anything.
now i have download a file from official Samsung page. title is I8190XXANC2_I8190EURANC1_HOME.tar.md5 .so i can go back to stock.
My question is will this make my phone complete stock with everything like stock firmware, stock recovery, stock kernel? again i dont care about the counter. i just want to change some roms and then i want to know that i can revert back anytime.
also if there is a fix for battery drain issue even on stock i will appreciate it.
thanks in advanced.
