Note Wifi Problem - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I've noticed that since upgrading to ICS on my Note, the Wifi is always on and downlink is always lighted up as though the phone is downloading something all the time.
Because of that, the phone gets hot and battery drains.
Is anyone out here facing a similar problem?

[Q] Phone shut off for no reason and wouldnt turn back on?

Hey my Bionic shut itself off for no reason. It wouldn't even start back up like it should from being shut off normally. The only way i could get it to turn on again was to remove the battery. After I put it back in the thing turned on without a problem. Any ideas as to what might cause this? Yes it is rooted and has been pretty much since I have had it, but this is the first time i have had any issues with it at all.
No idea what causes it.... it has happened to me twice. Once the first day I got it and again yesterday. I know I have read about this happening to others on here.

I've had this issue 10+ times in the last month. Only resolution seems to be yanking the battery.
I have had this happen as well. Do any of you have in pocket detection enabled? I did, disabled it, hasn't happened since.

My first 1 started that then died I did the fastboot restore and still shuts down when it starts heating up. My second started the BSOD today I had installed a themed gmail yesterday and FPse emulator when it started so I rolled it back to a previous backup no problem so far my other phone died a day after installing FPse not sure if that has anything to do with it I believe it's an internal heat problem.

Mines restart itself kind of randomly. My pocket protection is off and it does it. Not sure what causes it but it has done it to me at least 10 times so far.

So is this somewhat normal? Should I worry about it at all?
I have also experienced this problem. I have installed the leaked update. Does anyone think the update will fix this problem?
I wont know until a few days since thats about how often it happpens.

WiFi losses connection when screen off

Bought my vivid a few weeks ago and was annoyed by the battery life so I downloaded and used juice defender on aggressive setting. Well I actually had worse battery life with that and so I uninstalled it. Ever since then I've Bern having an issue where my WiFi disconnects when the screen is off for more then about ten minutes. I know that's kind of what juice defender does. Does anyone know what's going on? It gets really annoying. It's running everything stock. Please help!

Go into the wifisetting hit menu, change the wifi sleep policy to never....that will stop wifi from going to sleep, on the battery issue, I also just bought a vivid and having a nightmare with the battery.
Right now I manually set my brightness to low, disabled autobrightness and my battery has yet to drop...2% every 5 mins like it used to...

Awesome thanks. I didn't even know there was a WiFi sleep. I've been able to stretch my battery just by manually toggling mobile data and WiFi when I'm not using it and it usually lasts the whole day now if I don't play any games

any help or solutions? highly appreciate it..
Thank you!
Any advice my friends?
Maybe it's the service providers issue? Are any other phones at your disposal facing the same issue?

same issue here. signal is fine most of the time, then suddenly no signal for a few minutes. but restart is fixing it, so It's
neither the antenna, nor our provider.. hmm ._.
I'm guessing I would have to take the phone apart completely simplay taking the back cover off shows no wire. I saw a post earlier about the signal cable was disconnected. I did not see one and as stupid as this may sound would all phones have one?

Could it be radio related then since many if us are having this?
Has anyone been getting this issue on an ICS ROM?

[Q] any WiFi issues?

Hi all
Just curious if anyone has had any issues with WiFi on the HTC one. Currently on my nexus 4 I have constant delayed notifications and WiFi dropping randomly when phone goes to sleep. Its got so bad that I am tempted to switch to the One. I love the n4 but honestly can't take it anymore and google at this point has been no where to be found. (Even on the 1300 post Google issue thread I created)
I loved my one x so the transition doesn't bother me. Thanks for any input.

Samsung Galaxy Active s4 keeps turning off randomly

The galaxy active s4 keeps turning off randomly in my friends pocket. I'm not sure if there is an issue with the phone or maybe it's user error. If anyone has any ideas or similar issues I would really appreciate some input.

Does this happen only in his pocket? If it is it might be that he is somehow bumping into the power button. I know my phone does that sometimes, thought not often enough to be an issue.
Yeah it is in his pocket from what he said. But it seems to be happening far to much. Also, do you ever have any signal problems with it?

Mine does the exact same thing. I found that it's due to the power button getting pressed and held down, it reboots the phone after around 10 seconds or so.
Oh and I have signal issues but that's due to my cell phone provider. When I was in Hawai'i using T-Mobile it was pretty much amazing.
Thanks for all the answers guys. I appreciate it.

been having the same issues since day 1, when I first got mine it wouldn't hold a charge, it wouldn't stay on even when it was plugged in, and it would hang during charging, usually sitting around 78-77 percent, unless plugged into an AC adapter.
Earlier, when I pulled the battery, to check the IMEI or something, I popped it back in and turn the phone on, only to find I have 3% battery left? It was at ~60 when I pulled it, it was only out for about 30 seconds and the phone was only off for about 2 minutes, if that.
