No, I do not want stock. Asking for a way to get around SUT LR by having an universal, windows independat format to flash the phone. IMHO dev roms are windows dependent and by using fb0 type dev roms you would get around SUT LR and flash directly in the phone. As with latest roms with new kernel.

Thanks! Now, this is very possitive! Is it possible to extract the zips you offer and make these nb0's or is it due to when you build them? Or maybe to make a most necessary nb0 as a primary compatabiliy flash? The interest I have in this comes from my interest and how I look on open source, no one should be dependent of having Microsoft Windows installed on their comupter, this way we/ you also support people in the third world where Ubuntu or other community software is chosen. Again, thanks for you effort in dealing with this Q and hope to see a nb0 soon!
Sent from my U9000 using XDA

Sorry if I understood otherwise but you are very keen to gave nb0 which will make you dependent on Microsoft to flash them or you'll have to flash them from stock recovery whereas the current format zip can be flashed from CWM and not restricted to Windows, more clarification on this subject will be welcome

For pack and unpack nb0 firmware files i'm use n0-utils.jar
Google in help!

Problem solved.

Thank you my friend but the thing is that there is no stock rom to be found, lol not even there... searched already, I became a member there just to browse the files and there is no stock rom for my tablet. (GTP1010CWGR US Version running Froyo 2.2.1) Also... I cannot even do ADB until I solve this issue... (While in recovery, if I connect the tablet to the pc I get this screen (see my pic) on device manager...
CDC Abstract Control Model (ACM)
CDC ACM Data
Tried a million times with a bunch of different drivers including shrewsbury-V5_02_0_2-WHQLed-with-ADB-customer-free (RNDIS) and nothing... any ideas on how to install this drivers, I have been searching and downloading bunch of drivers and nothing seems to work... (I asume those drivers will let me do ADB right?)
>>> And another thing... I am unable to flash any update.zip since the "SDCARD" that the tablet is looking for is the internal one, not the external I believe... Is that correct?
if you can go through CWM why you didn't flash the Rom in Dev section ?
about the drivers . you click on them and go to properties and then go through update drivers then browse your my computer for drivers then choose let me pick up the drivers , drivers will pop up choose one of them ,

What did you do to your phone? Those are used for motorola RSD Lite, but if you flash that you will lose H+ capabilities as currently there is no way of going back to Bell Stock firmware.
To help repair your phone, I can take an image of my bell XT860 /system folder for you, it's running stock 2.3.6 with SU and busybox. Let me know if that can help you. I can also give you instructions on how to get the system.img back onto your phone once you've received it.

Actually since you only flashed system image its easy for you to get back on bell. That's why I had you only flash system.img
You can go danifunkers way, which would put you back to true bell stock. Or you can flash the deodexed bell system found in the dev forum
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
I also had wondered what they all were. Some of them are obvious like radio.img is the radio firmware logo.bin is the boot logo(the moto dual core logo) I googled some of them and found this
http://and-developers.com/partitions:cdt
It doesn't have one for our particular phone but it gives you an idea. Google any terms you don't know to get better understanding
You can flash a different boot logo if you like, there's a thread in the themes and apps forum about it, if you follow the links you'll get to a bionic dub page that has flashable logos.
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
The xml is for rsdlite. It has a list of commands for it so it knows what order and partition to flash. If you open it in a text editor you'll see what I mean. I actually used it to write a simple script for motofastboot to completely reflash my phone since rsdlite doesn't have a linux version

I'll take a system image of 2.3.6 for you and you can re-flash your original Bell image. I'm sure it will be easier for maintenance over the long run, as Bell updates things, it is nice not having to mess around with the phone to make it work. I'll follow up with a PM once I have the file uploaded.

Danifunker, boazal that might be a good idea, then you can install safestrap and mess around in safe mode and still take OTA updates however (and perhaps you can clarify this danifunker as im not sure) when the 2.3.4>2.3.6 update came out was that only /system that was updated or does it include radio/kernel/etc updates. Would having an old kernel and a new /system prevent updates going forward
Just want to make sure we get him fixed up good and proper

Endroid, good questions. AFAIK in all builds all components are updated, it probably has to do something with the signing keys. All android update releases are patches, not full file replacements including the boot partition. These patches run to the effect of doing a search and replace of bits of data at specified locations. If the original file doesn't match what the patch is expecting, you will end up with some really bad outcomes, which is why an android update will fail.
This is why I haven't done any safestrapping yet (I'm not sure which partitions are being touched by it) and haven't reinstalled CWM since getting my phone back from the shop (For the same reason as safestrapping).

I believe safestrap will completely remove all components when you uninstall recovery although im not 100% on that. I know the original idea behind it was that you could still receive OTA updates because /system stays intact, although many of us use it to dualboot instead
So I guess its up to boazal if he wants to ensure he's on the update path or if he would rather mod his device
Sure would make it easy if we just had the bell fastboot files

Considering they are in Israel, the language of choice for them is probably Hebrew. That is a right-to-left language.
Doesn't the XT860 allow for addition of left-to-right languages? My dad might be getting an Android phone as well and would probably want the same thing, if the option is available.

(in Israel English is not a limitation at all), the major issue is the RTL+BIDI in SMS messages and contacts.
try to figure it out, mom send you sms invitation to the 21/2.
you shuld be on the twelve, or in the twenty first???
I speak english and french which are both supported in the stock rom in canada. I know I've seen discussion on the very topic of numbers in RTL languages recently. Ask user willis111 about it.

update.zip in Cache folder when trying to flash ICS ROM from Stock

Hi there
I recently got a Galaxy S (running Stock Gingerbread.XXJV9) for free off of a family member, so I decided to root it (which I did using CF-Root) and I'm trying to flash RemICS-UX onto the phone from stock 2.3
The thing is whenever I try to flash via ROM Manager, it will tell me there is an update file in the cache folder, when there shouldn't be and I do not know how this file even got into that folder (since this isn't a brand new phone)
Would this impact me flashing a new ROM at all? I have wiped cache at the moment, but before I flash the new ROM I would like to know if I have to repartition for ICS or can I leave it as is and flash without a problem.
Thanks for any help/advice in advance
Hey
The first requirement for flashing a ICS rom is that your phone should have 2.3.6 ValuePack, Rooted...you cannot just flash it on 2.3 stock..

Ah ok, there is a link to that ROM in the dev forum for this phone then I assume (just it isn't stickied like in Desire S forum)
EDIT: Found the link, these are really different to Desire S stock flashing, hopefully there is a glossary for what CSC means
Anything else I need to do with that ROM after I've flashed it besides reactivate root if I don't use a pre-rooted one?
Hey
Actually u dont need to do anything.. the roms quite good...plus rooting is ur option and is preferred if u need ics..

Also I can flash straight to ICS from the CF-Root provided for the value pack without any extra requirements right? As I plan on doing so, because the Value Pack update has basically messed up my settings and everything, so I don't want to stay on it for a while
Hey
You can Flash any ICS rom once your phone is ont 2.3.6 rooted...not need to wait...

I think you have severely misunderstood the directions.
One does not simply flash a ICS ROM from any other version.
Why won't LG Flash tool work for you?

If it's asking for login, you have to do step 2 from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17177547&postcount=2
2.Extract "file.zip" and put "LGFlashTool.exe" to location where you installed "Setup_LGFlashTool_1.1.zip" (default: C:\LG\LGFlashTool\)
This replaces the orginal installed LGFlashTool with the special version from file.zip
Umm ...can you just upload the final file you used with cwm recovery?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't work like that. You CANNOT flash an ICS build from froyo or gingerbread. You MUST run the LG Flash tool following the steps provided in the other sections to the T. If you aren't very comfortable with doing this stuff yourself I would advise you to remain on Gingerbread. You will most likely end up with a bricked / worthless phone if something does go wrong and you don't know how to get it back. I the thrill development section you will find a very lengthy and discussed guide on upgrading. As I said though, this is at your own risk and there is no possible way for us to upload anything for you to flash. You connect your phone and flash ICS using the LG FLASH tool.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
wait....i was able to install 10 different zip updates....such as prometheus, thriller, etc. is there a way to get the ICS rar file like that?
No. That's what I'm saying. You can flash gingerbread ROMs on gingerbread all day long, but you cannot flash an ICS ROM while you are on gingerbread. Especially this phone. The ICS build is ported from the Korean model of this phone and has different partition sizes than a gingerbread/froyo ROM would need for the thrill. LG Flash tool is the only way to get ICS on this phone. You must first flash XBSALL's ICS build with LG Flash tool on your PC. From there you can root and install recovery and flash other custom ICS ROMs, but not until you first flash on your PC using the guides in the Optimus 3D Development forum.
The only reason I'm taking the time to re-explain this to you is to prevent you from flashing an ICS ROM and possibly bricking your phone. Its pretty buggy still and not something a novice user should attempt. I spent at least 3 1/2 hours in a panic trying to fix my phone after flashing ICS over with LG Flash tool exactly as I was supposed to. It doesn't "just work", you may have to work for it.
