Flash away fellow.
Use a kernel cleaning script (check first page of glitch kernel) mount data, flash rom and join in the mintberry joy.

how do i use the kernel cleaning script ?
and what is it anyway ?
A kernel cleaning script removes all tweaks and changes added by prev kernel so as not to cause conflicts.
If you use kernel cleaner in Glitch's thread (download and flash in cwm), data should already be mounted - check mounts and storage in cwm, then flash mintberry. Job done

thank you man for your really detailed answers

[Q] How to update SlimICS with Semaphore kernel

Hi!
How do I update SlimICS with Semaphore kernel installed (the current versions when new SlimICS version is out)?
Just clean /cache and Dalivic?
Clean something else?
Then install the SlimICS components in CWM?
Do i have a "clean" SlimICS after that without semaphore components left?
And then optionally reinstall semaphore kernel?
Another question: When i want to test Semaphore kernel.... how can i completly uninstall the kernel after testing?
THX!
Mart
Before updating I always revert all semaphore settings to stock, in recovery wipe cache and dalvik, clear init.d and ns tools then follow update changelog instructions.
If you want to revert back to stock kernel after a play with semaphore, the kernel is provided over at the slim website, check the version though.

Thank You for the fast reply!
Do you mean the "Base_Samsung_4.0.zip" as SlimICS kernel?

Is there a significant performance gain using semaphore kernel compared to stock slim kernel for you? Is it worth trying?

Flash a Semaphore kernel designed for ics. See http://www.semaphore.gr/homepage/semaphore-ics which also has links to xda-developers.

I downloaded Semaphore_ICS_1.3.0. That's all i need, right ?
Just choose this file on PDA and flash ?
EDIT: I already did that and worked.
Only 1 thing: after flashing, i had to push the power button to start ... didn't had to reboot after flash ?

Semaphore 1.3.0 is the one you need. You can flash it through Clockworkmod recovery, its the easiest way. Don't forget to wipe cache and dalvyk cache before flashing a new kernel. Besides semaphore you could also try devils kernel 1.0.3. It is more performance oriented. Flash the one you like. The only thing I don't like about semaphore 1.3.0 is that wifi tethering doesn't work.
Reboot after flashing is crucial, but if you have the new semaphore configuration app, you did it right! Just reboot one more time to be sure everything works alright.

Knowing I am being offtopic: Whats your battery like on cm7?
Cause with cm9 and semaphore you shouldn't have had a huge drain...

On CM7, the battery life is good (1,2 days). On CM9 it sucks... i had to recharge after 15-16 hours max, everytime.

Which kernel you are using?
you may try this,
1) reflash the rom with full wipe.
2) if you are overclock the OC clear int.d and NStool setting or using kernel cleaning script
note: only use one kernel setting apps ( e.g NStool , semaphore manager and +++)
If you are using semaphore kernel try not to use NStool setting and semaphore manager.
Hope this will help. :fingers-crossed:

i've flashed semaphore kernel and reinstalled the cm 10.1 rom.

i think the problem is the app of the sim card, because sometime it disappear from the drawer. This app is named "kit strumenti sim" (in italian) and is a default app...
I kinda have a similar problem with the OP. Except, my SGS (running CM10.1) only random reboots if I'm using another kernel, other than stock (mostly, I tried with Semaphore, diff builds). Any ideas anyone?
I would really like to use Semaphore, due to its deep idle and other options.
Sorry if I off-topic'ed here!

if you flash semaphore kernel(2.9.++ is for 4.2.++ ROM) and reflash the cm10.1 rom yor kernel will change to cm10.1 stock kernel.
so the step should be flash the rom and reboot to recovery and flash the kernel you like. for me flash a new kernel i will clear the NStools settings and init.d directory from advanced clear before i flash any new kernel.

Problems here...

Hey guys... so, I wanted to install cm9 on my phone. And this is what I did. I flashed Naa ics kernel, and tried to flash minicm9 . I did a full wipe. And it didn't work. The log said something about I16. I don't know.
So,ive read that I should flash minicm 3.0.4 and wipe nothing then flash 3.0.5. And,no luck.
Please guys,I really need help. Please.
Thanks in advance.

Rom Installation aborts?
If yes this may cause by removing build.prop(or localprop), flash another rom (gingerbread recommended) then do wipes & try installing cm9 again.

#no need to run Ginger rom after installation, remove it in recovery
