I love the Hero's transparent lock screen as it allows me to see time and calendar quickly. I don't want to use Hero ROM because of the lag so I am wondering is there transparent lock screen like Hero's? If not, is it possible to get it from Hero build? If not, would it be difficult to develop it?
Thanks.
i have been searching and looking around online for different ways to do it, and cant get it to turn off.
settings
applications
app manager
htc sense
clear defaults button
force stop button
home button
online it says i should see an option to switch between home and sense, but it never pops up. it will go to a white screen with HTC in green, but go right back to sense.
i go back into the app manager, and the clear defaults button cant be pressed again.. can i set this back to normal if i cant get the home working?

i think that method does not work on 2.1.
after root on the .5 official, you can install launcher pro and that will offer a different launcher bar.

You don't need to root to use LauncherPro. Just go ahead and get it free from the market, so much smoother than Sense! And now with dock notification icons for missed calls, texts, and Gmail
But if you want more than a home replacement (like getting AOSP alarm clock, messaging, calendar, mail, etc) that is much more difficult. If you really want that, root your phone then consider getting the Darchdroid custom ROM, as it is based on AOSP (aka vanilla Android).
For now, definitely try LauncherPro. No reason not to! Also, download Home Switcher from the market. It lets you easily change back and forth between Sense and LauncherPro, or other home replacements if you have them.

i thought launcherpro required root. i dont use it, i like the htc launcher bar. however i do prefer the vanilla lock...there a way to enable it on the .6 rooted?

It does not require root
Also, if you want the vanilla lock with the Sense launcher, the easiest solution I can think of is running Fresh ROM, which is based on the .6 RUU and supports vanilla lock. You can technically run it on other ROMs but it's more complicated I believe.
"Home", vanilla Android, isn't available on stock 2.1 to my knowledge. You'll have to download any home replacement before disabling sense. And launcherpro is the best one.

No way to get that awesome vanilla lock without rooting.

hey tailsthecat, I responded to your post in the nfinitefx45 ROM thread about vanilla lock. Just wanted you to know I basically just said I'm going to experiment and try to figure out how to get the vanilla lock to work on that ROM. I already know how to get halfway there.
Not intending to hijack this thread.
Okay, so I've been curious for quite some while.
Using Vanilla Android over Sense has lead to quite a few losses in the way. One of which is the one i am about to refer to.
When I bought my Hero i was amazed with its feature to change the incoming call volume just by movement. Of course, this is a Sense feature and therefore not included in 2.2 Froyo Vanilla. Has anyone found an application doing that?
It would be awesome if we could.
ps. Also, has anyone found a good replacement for the Sense/LauncherPro Full Screen calendar? I am using ADW Launcher EX. Mind you I am using a lower density screen so apps like pure calendar widget don't scale good enough, let alone they look ugly.
Hello Mr Developer people.
I recently flashed the sense 3 stuff to my phone as I heard you could put widgets on your home screen. I was tired of using the fake lock screens that where laggy and didnt work correctly.
I was kind of hoping that the HTC sense would have there agenda widget as a selectable option but you cant.
Would it be possible for someone to make something like this?
Cheers
Pat
Hi folks, you have no Q&A section so I'll post in here,
missus has Incredible S wont let me root it, but she wants to use the pattern lock screen but when she does the sense lock screen sits on top anyway of stopping it or removing it without root???? as i said she wont let me root or flash custom rom so pretty much up a river with no paddles as far as i can think, any help much appreciated.
she tried magic locker, no lock ect she just a pain and wants to use the pattern lock with the dots lol
I'll take that as a no then lol
Widget locker? Give that a try
I'm confused, it's just the sense lockscreen on top. Even all the other roms/versions will have aosp lockscreen on top before you get to the pattern OR sense lockscreen on top. Using widgetlocker would produce the same result. You have to go through unlocking it before getting to the pattern. so I'm a bit confused as to what you want exactly, and just out of curiousity.. how would you go about doing this if you rooted her phone?
Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but Go launcher has an add on called GO Locker with some different customizations.
