Define "full function". If you mean, can you upgrade to Ubuntu 12, no. If you mean, can you run Unity, no. If you mean being able to to almost everything you would do on a regular PC running Ubuntu, yes. Granted there is no support for NTFS drives or DVD burners and things of that sort but look at the software list. Short of playing Halo, it covers over 90% of what people use a computer for.
Here's a list of what I use it for;
Web browsing (posting this using webtop)
Watch movies (pretty much any flash video site works)
Watch Hulu (no app needed and am infact watching Hulu right now)
Listen to music (local or streaming)
Create and edit documents, speadsheets, powerpoint
Near Photoshop level of image editing
Edit audio files
ROM work
Chat
Torrents
Gaming (both linux games and using emulators)
Website updates and maintenance
Writing and editing scripts
What I can't do with it or haven't tried yet;
SBF flashing (haven't tried)
Working in ADB and fastboot (haven't tried)
Watch Netflix (there's an app for that)
Run a current version of Chrome or Firefox (this only has Firefox 8 right now)
Kernel compiles (make is a bit old in ubuntop)
I hope this helps.

"webtop2sd is required for Atrix users because there is only 1.3MB free space otherwise"
First hit up the webtop2sd thread to figure out what's up because with it working, Ubuntop won't work.
Thanks for your post! It is good to see that there are WebTop developers
I have a question : what is the difference between your UbuntuTop and a customized webtop2sd WebTop ? (I have webtop2sd with gnome 2.0)
Still no luck!

Hi
Looks like the rom (NottachTrix4G - AIO Aroma Installer 1.3.1 [2.3.6][Blur][Multi-Lang]) was incompatible with webtop2sd
Have installed
[GB-ROM] [2.3.6] [Bell/INTL] [45.21.78] Tweaked Stock Blur With Webtop [Jun11]
webtop2sd now setup
have followed your instructions to the letter - but firefox will still not connect.
have rebooted and wiped cache too.
Now stuck!
Any help appreciated!
I've been using webtop2sd with NottachTrix since its introduction. On the last fresh install, I had to relink busybox in the /etc/webtop2sd directory.

I have the same question, and is it faster (like Gentop tries to be).
Also, do I need webtop2sd for the install, or can I install this to the internal partition first then move it with webtop2sd? Can I use my sd partition to extend certain directories to get more space (again like Gentop) instead of mirroring everything (like webtop2sd does).

Unsure as to how similar our problems are, but my Firefox stopped working after I flashed to a CM9 ROM then returned to Nottachtrix again.
Ultimately I used Atrix Fastboot Tool to erase the Webtop partition then flashed a stock webtop through CWM. Perhaps try that and then install UbunTop.
Lots of questions so let me try to get everything answered.

First this is a unified base so you don't think of it as Atrix Ubuntop vs Electrify Ubuntop vs Photon Ubuntop. You have to think of it as Moto Tegra2 Ubuntop (I'm thinking I should rename it that). File for file it is the exact same as what's run on the Electrify and Photon. Advantages of a unified base are many. As long as I can get it to fit inside that 755MB cap the Atrix has, ANY tweaks or improvements made by ANYBODY in Moto Tegra2 community can be applied. Granted approval on both sides and proper credit will apply. The other advantage is that any major updates (like Ubuntu 10,11,12) that I can cram into that 755MB automatically become usable to all the Moto Tegra2 Webtop users!
The other main difference is that all the flashing and scripts to get to an unlocked webtop with synaptic and custom dock/desktop are already done. When you install OpenOffice what do you do? You launch synaptic, search for openoffice then go through and select packages. In Ubuntop, you launch synaptic, click file/read markings and select the openoffice file in the software folder. Take all the software listed in the OP, that's installed by selecting one preconfigured markings file. There are also things like over 150 config edits to Firefox alone that are permanent, a lot of moto crap has been removed.
To compared to what you probably have setup, Ubuntop will get you there far faster and with less time in terminal. In short, far more average user friendly. User friendly has been my goal since Ubuntop launched back in September of last year because Moto really screwed up what could have been an amazing product. Read this and you will understand my motives behind this.

Ubuntop was deved on that very ROM. I do have a fix so I'm going to amend the install method for the Atrix in the OP. The install method should now be;
Flash Univ_Ubuntop_v1.0.0.zip via CWM
Reboot
*Atrix Users-Run webtop2sd
Launch Webtop+
Reboot into recovery and flash menupatch.zip
Relaunch Webtop+ and enjoy!

Right now I'm trying to get everybody on the same webtop base (WT-1.2.0-180) for the reason stated above. It does have a number of improvements over stock but has yet to be fully optimized. As nice as Gentop2 is, it's far larger than Ubuntop and has files spread all over the phone and SDCard. Try this and tell me how it goes;
Ignore any CWM backups you may have
Ignore your computer
Perform a factory reset (or format preinstall when ROM flashing)
Try to launch Gentop2
Try the same with Ubuntop (all that's needed is webtop2sd and the menupatch.zip to get you up and running again)
So Ubuntop's other main advantages are survivability after factory reset and install/distribution method.
(I have offered to make Gentop2 flashable and even provided a template.zip but have not heard back. I may make it flashable and simply give him the file. Yes I give dev work away, a lot actually.)
If you want to play with splitting up Ubuntop feel free but I have not done so for the reasons stated above.
I hope you guys are submitting this to portal because if THIS can make it the is no reason why Ubuntop can't.

I'm tempted to try this, but I have one major motivation in trying it.
Will it run a modern version of Chromium? My current webtop setup has an unbearably slow Firefox and due to a few outdated packages required to get webtop to boot, the newest version of Chromium that I can install from synaptic or otherwise without breaking my webtop is version 4. It crashes constantly, but it's still considerably faster than Firefox, despite the crashes.
What's the latest version of Chromium that Ubuntop can run on the Atrix?

Define "unbearably slow". If you can give me some raw data it would be a big help.
I need to know Kernel/ROM (any additional settings, changes), addresses of test webpages, webpage load time, sunspider bench and so on. I will then duplicate your tests and post results.
The supported Chrome version is going to be the same.
Also if it helps. On the Photon running Joker/Imperium at 1.2GHz running Photon UbunTop v1.2, page loads and sunspider scores were about the same as the Dell mini 10 Z530 1.6GHz running firefox/safari/chrome. Testing was done back in Feb/Mar 2012. To be honest, the Dell mini 10 and similarly spec'd netbooks are a good indicator as to performance in many areas. Considering that Moto used a generic Ubuntu Jaunty ARM base from 2009, I'm surprised it performs as well as it does.

Android VNC Viewer
So last night i saw a post on googles own vnc viewer which is coded to work on the g1 and the android emulator.
Well, I forwarded my ports correctly and setup my server accordingly. I am using TightVNC as well as UltraVNC at seperate times.
I am able to establish a connection through all services on my g1, (3g edge and wifi). Only when I arrive on the connection
I am greeted with only a black screen. I switch to mouse control on my g1 by pressing trackball and can see me moving the pc mouse from my g1.
So my connection is working flawlessly but my only error is that i cant see anything on my g1.
Is there a special mirror driver i must install??? somebody please help me for i use remote desktop as a part of everyday life
Latest androidVNC viewer
As long as none of these are shown as released on http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/ I'll keep compiling and placing them here. I'll edit this post with the current latest so it's easy for everyone to download without spending the time getting eclipse up and working.
r17 allows saving of multiple servers for quick-connect profiles.
I do not know if you need to uninstall the previous version before installing this one. I always uninstall before installing the new one with a project that changes as much as this one has recently.
Thanks buddy!
Thanks so much! I hope this app gets the development it deserves. This, and an rDesktop app are needed badly!

So I am not the only one who thinks this!
Android-VNC Viewer Compile?
How do I go about compiling the source code for the Android-VNC Viewer located at (http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/).
I looked around and seen a post that said I would have to compile it on linux / mac... I do have Ubuntu setup on this machine as a separate OS but I'd rather not boot into Linux just to do that...
Anyone run native Linux that can compile the APK and add a link? If not then I will as long as I know how
just download the apk they have for download and use that.
The APK that is on there is far outdated compared to where the project currently is. For instance, there is a post that links r17's release on it which allows you to save settings, change color mode and a few other nice features... The current build is up to r28 now so I'm sure better support and newer features were added since then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3199765#post3199765
I think that build is only a few days old.
r31 is now the latest and the developers have released it directly:
http://android-vnc-viewer.googlecode.com/files/androidVNC_build090125.apk
They compiled it this time around so I didn't have to
Thank you! Cant wait to try it. =)
Hmmm, I tried the linked apk and it won't install. The older version still works.
I checked out the trunk but it is the same as the previous release.
I checked out the antlersoft branch but it doesn't compile: package com.antlersoft.android.dbimpl does not exist
Has anyone else tried the latest version apk or compiling?
I've tried it, and it won't connect for me. However, I haven't tried any previous versions, so I may have it set up incorrectly.
The R17 build won't work for me, so chalk it up to that. Or my stupidity.
Well I downloaded it to my laptop and then installed via adb and it worked.
Usually I download with steel and install from the sdcard. But that didn't work this time for some reason. (new JF1.41 or new vnc or user error?)
This wouldn't install for me from the sd card. Any ideas?
Yeah it wont install for me either, I tried both AppsInstaller from SDcard and adb - neither were successful... I noticed the build is now at 33, any chance we can get someone to compile it? Maybe the issue was fixed but not repacked?
There's an "official" build/apk out on http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc-viewer/. The filename calls is 090125 which, I assume, means January 25th I downloaded it and tried to install it from my phone (not via adb) and it failed to install for me (BTW, so does the -17 version in the first post). Could be that the key is installing via adb, I don't know. I'll try it later when I have a chance but I thought everyone owuld be interested in the update.
I reported this as an issue on the project, however after fully uninstalling the previous app and downloading the file directly from my G1 it installed successfully. I did not use the SDcard / AppsInstaller or ADB - I just used the traditional method of going to the site on my phone and installing it from there, after I uninstalled the previous version.
Hopefully this works for you guys as well.

Good point. For cm6.1 beta2, just alter the build.prop as follows:
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi
and reboot.
This was not my fix, and I take no credit for it - it was in the big thread. I believe that the forthcoming beta 3 is going to have this change built-in.

Any ideas what else I can try? I am running CM v6.1b2.

I am having the same problem trying to install on full vanilla. In fact, my device will not even download the rar...it fails. I had to copy it from another device....so dumb question, i assume i just need to rename the file to apk, not unrar it?
Flash 10.1 fix
I used a RAR extractor on my windows machine then side loaded the APK into SD on system. I then used ES file explorer to find the file On the internal SD and when I opened it it gave me the option to install. Install went off without a hitch.
I have stock system with no ROM changes and I loaded launcher pro which I use instead onf TapNTap. I have now viewed many Utube video's as well as movie trailers with no problems.
Hope that helps

My apologies for not explaining more fully. I actually have the build.prop edit in place. I tried copying the flash apk to /system as well as /system/app. My problem is that I can't get it to install. Either I get an error, the program attempting the install crashes, or nothing happens.
By the way, you mention a beta 3 of CM. Any idea where I can find it? I did a quick 'net search but came up with nothing specific for the gtablet. Guess I need to plow through the megathread again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Could it be I need to fix flash prior to installing CM? I had to do that with the wifi hack before it would work. Guess I need to get another backup going just in case.
Edit (again): Never mind about Beta 3. I see in the megathread that it is in the works.
For the APK error, not sure about vanilla (never tried it). TnT Lite is 90% vanilla so I figured it should work on full stock.
I usually install with "adb install", which is how I tested it. I assumed a sideload would also work. I haven't put it in /system yet although I probably will do that when I build out TnT Lite 2.00 - that's coming next week btw, as soon as VS sends out their new firmware update and I can get my hands on it.

I may try flashing back to stock(ish) and installing from there.

My GTab was configured like yours. I unintalled Flash 10.1 and loaded the vanilla "out-of-the-box" Rom version. This version also had the clockwork menu so when you Flash don't panic if you see this pop up, just follow the instructions for loading the update.zip file from the /sdcard (I think it was option 2). I then side loaded Flash 10.1.apk from the PC to /sdcard and using ES File Explorer to access /sdcard, I doubled clicked on the Flash 10.1.abk to install.
Then I reinstalled TnT_Lite 2.0, flashed and then TnT_Lite 2.02 & Flashed this update.
ESPN3 works great. Also get Flash_TV from the Android Market and you now have IPTV. I am anxious to get the docking module so I can stream HDMI 1080P to my 46" LCD. No more cable, no more monthly cable bills (I do get internet 28MB/sec service).
Still looking for an optimized Nvidia Tegra 2 video media player that will take advantage of the processors embedded video encoder functions. I expect this will play HDMI 1080P movies quite nicely. Rock Player is rumored to be working on a dual core Cortex 9 version. Right now it plays using the software control option and is slow and clunky.
I believe that Flash 10.1 is optimized for the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and it is quite nice. The streaming videos play smoothly. Not sure how they will play in HD when using the docking module and the HGMI connection to the large screen.
Best of luck. It's easy once you figured out how to do the original Flash load(s).

Thank you for this 11/29 edit pointer to the flash apk file (rename txt to API), all I have done is rooted thus far with z4root, stock TnT, and now YouTube videos work!
**NOTE FOR VEGAN TAB USERS** Steps 1-5 are no longer necessary for you, as the build.prop file in your /system directory has a working market fingerprint out of the box. Just apply the standard Market Fix (steps 6-8) and you are good to go.
I've seen several people complaining that the "full market" we had on G Tablet after the established market fixes wasn't quite full. Well, I've solved that problem, through a mixture of reading what others have done with other devices and experimentation. I will not promise that this gives you *everything*, but I do believe it gives you apps that otherwise required the release-keys status. Some of the apps you get may of course not work. But several applications I looked for before (TV.com for example, with streaming CBS video content) were not available with the previous market fix, and are now available with this fix. In fact, TV.com even works, except for a very minor video glitch in the upper left corner of the screen, and it's a cool app to get some quick streaming video content going on your G Tablet.
**NOTE** I take no responsibility for you screwing up your G Tablet. Please backup your system in Clockwork Recovery before doing any of this!
**EDIT** Removed unneccessary steps after feedback in this thread. Process is now very simple. Edited step 1 to clarify you need paid version of Root Explorer.
Here's how to do it:
0) Backup in Clockwork Mod. Please. I don't want you mad at me if this messes up your ROM.
1) Get the paid version of Root Explorer installed on your G Tablet. Apparently the free version lacks a text editor. If you only have the free version, the text editing step will need to be done in a separate program, or you will need to copy build.prop to your desktop, edit it there, and copy it back. Or use adb to push an edited build.prop to your tablet. Just buy Root Explorer though, it makes this very easy.
2) Browse in Root Explorer to /system. Then click on Mount R/W.
3) Long click on build.prop and click on Open In Text Editor.
4) Scroll down to the line ro.build.fingerprint=....
You are going to replace that with the following text:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2/FRF91/43546:user/release-keys
5) Now you are going to click on Save and Exit. And then remount the /system directory as R/O.
6) Now you are going to re-do the original Market Fix. I used the simple version illustrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l-nySibzeA&feature=related First, make sure Market is running, and browse around in it for a few seconds. If you don't do this, there may be no cache to clear and for some reason the market fix may not work. Then, go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Running and scroll down to Market. Then hit Clear Cache, followed by Force Stop **DO NOT CLEAR DATA FOR MARKET, JUST CACHE**. Then go back, scroll down to Google Services Framework, hit Clear Data, then Force Stop.
7) Now try starting Market again and you get the famous Market Error. Now shut down the G Tablet, then turned it back on. Wait for Wifi to connect to your network before doing anything! I forgot to do that on the first try, so I rebooted again, waited for wifi to connect this time.
8) Now restart Market again. It seems to have sourced the fingerprint from build.prop somewhere in steps 6-7. Searches for previously missing apps now show up. Voila! A truly full market!
And steps 6 and 7 can almost certainly be replaced by the equivalent steps using Titanium Backup that I know a lot of people have been using, particularly with TNT Lite. I am running ZPad 2.2 here, so YMMV with TNT Lite. Please keep me informed if this works/doesn't work for you if you try it!
Credit goes to: Paul at Modaco for hacking on the Advent Vega and making the Market work fully on that device and for coming up with a working build.prop for the Advent Vega, Roebeet for inspiring me to look at the Vega ROM stuff with his current work on the VEGAn ROM, Rothnic for his excellent work on the ZPad ROM that I'm currently using. Basically, I'm just hacking and slashing here, this wasn't any sort of rocket science.
Paul from Modaco is awesome -- and you are as well, for making this post!
Any apps in particular that you found after this, that were missing before? I might want to try this on my device. Thanks again!
FWIW my Nexus One running a CM 6.0 nightly from 2 days ago has
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2.1/FRG83/60505:user/release-keys
Note the more up-level version (2.2.1) and build (FRG83). I haven't tried this on my GTab yet but I will as soon as I can get it up and running.

The only specific things I can tell you off the top of my head are TV.com which I know wasn't there because I searched for it a few hours ago. Also, I tried searching Market for Handcent before and found 14 or 15 results, and after this process I was able to retrieve 24 results.
There were a bunch of random apps I saw in the Top Apps list that I don't remember seeing earlier today. So that was enough to convince me that most of the missing 10-20% of apps are there now.
And thanks for the compliment, especially coming from the guy who made the G Tablet useful!

I'm sure that will work too, though the FRF91 build string seems to match the existing data in the ZPad ROM at least. I'm guessing the two signatures will produce essentially identical Market results.

Yeah. I may be somewhat overoptimistic going with FRG83. The build and version numbers identify the version of the system code so apps may read them and make some assumptions as to certain API characteristics. We're probably closer to FRF91 than FRG83 on TnT Lite.
This one worked ok for me
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/SGH-T849/SGH-T849/SGH-T849:2.2/FROYO/UVJJB:user/release-keys

Yes this is Galaxy Tab. Probably better a Tegra tab once a full market one comes out.
I did the following:
1) Edited build.prop as described in step 4, rebooted and searched for tv.com - no results
2) I preformed the edits in step 4a, rebooted and searched for tv.com - no results
3) I stopped Market & Google Services Framework & wiped Google Services Framework, rebooted after getting Market Error, waited for wifi and opened Market to search for tv.com - no results.
I can't say if it works. I haven't had trouble finding apps, but I can't find tv.com before or after the steps above. Perhaps, I missed something.
Wait!!!! It does work. I tried again after posting and it's there! Thanks!
Is it possible to post the TV.com app? I don't want to do the mod but would love that app!
Great post man worked like a charm, I can get my slingbox app from the market now.
Edit: dammit I can't get the downloaded sling client to launch even after trying it many times which usually worked.
I'm going to give it a shot but being a newbie I'm not clear on this step:
5) Now you are going to click on Save and Exit. And then remount the /system directory as R/O
Will "remount as r/o" be an option to select at this point? If not, can you provide more detail.
The rest of the mod is easy enough to follow.
Thanks.

No worries its just a button on root explorer, download it and you will see it fairly quick.

Thanks works great
Can't get this to work. When I toto building.prop there s no option to open it in text editor. Only toopen as text. But then there is no way to edge the sentence.

Replaced this line only, did the Market fix via Settings and it worked like a charm. And Swype continues to work as well.

Note: Please keep this thread restricted to Atrix-specific and general issues. Threads for other devices are referenced at the top of the main webtop2sd thread.
Discuss webtop2sd here (the other thread will be kept clean for announcements, FAQs, etc.).
Before you report an issue:
Make sure it's not on the Known Issues list first!.
Basic debugging, since these are going to be questions I ask anyways:
If you hit problems with the Android webtop2sd application, you'll need to tell me the error, and give me the last few lines of adb logcat. Run this adb command, which will filter out most of the unimportant lines:
adb logcat ActivityManager:i AndroidRuntime:i webtop2sd:i *:s
Are you actually booting from your SD card? You can find this out by checking the Diagnostics tab in webtop2sd, under "Currently mounted webtops". If mmcblk1p12 isn't listed, you're not booted from your SD card. If this is the case, report what ROM you're running from.
Is the webtop configurator application showing, but not running successfully? If so, plug your device into your dock and run a terminal (either locally or adbWireless + adb shell) and run the following:
su
/usr/bin/sudo -H -u adas bash
export DISPLAY=:0
python /usr/local/bin/webtop-configurator.pyc
I'll need whatever output shows up.
great! thanks for making it so much easier.
haven't actually tested it b/c i sort of figured out how to do that a few days back, but still need to manually install it.
maybe i'll test your app next time i decide to reinstall my ubuntu.
btw, which script are you using to mount /osh? for me only /data/logging.sh works (it's safer anyway).
I suspect that what I'm doing isn't rocket science by any means. But, what I do seem to be pretty good at is packaging semi-complex things up for people into a manageable form with a fairly solid level of reliability. You couldn't imagine the things I'm happy that I managed to accomplish with this app, because they're so... quirky.
Anyways, I've been using /system/bin/mountosh since the beginning. I need to tweak the copy I'm using right now, since my goals have expanded beyond what I initially wrote it for. On the other hand, it'll mean that I can separate out my "personal" Ubuntu versus my "debugging" one, and that should be quite helpful.
These advances with linux customization in webtop have turned me on to Ubuntu in general. I just dumped windows xp on my desktop server and now run ubuntu super OS and studio. This takes a phone to a new level. Thanks OP!
i would love to try this out but i'm on a mac.. can you partition through disk utility?
I would complain that you beat me to it, my initial post here, except it looks like what you created is way more advanced and polished than anything I could do.
I will check it out right now. Oops, i see it is only a shell at the moment. Well I am very eager to try it.
A few questions then:
1. I assume this is similar to your last mod, in that you have just moved the Motorola environment onto the SD card, no chroot or other tricks?
2. Is the dependency problem better? Are we able to replace the motorola packages?
3. Are we still stuck with jaunty or is there a possibility to upgrade to a supported version of ubuntu?
I know this might seem like a useless question (installing regardless), but your previous work was based off the 1.5.7 firmware, would this app be supported/functional on the current 1.8.3 firmware?
Oh, and...
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

Yes I believe the most important questions here are:
1 - which version will it work for? .83? .57? or just up to .52?
2 - If the Ubuntu version could be upgraded to, say, 11? Probably not, but hey...
Regardless, your work is the only reason why I'm buying myself a lapdock and replacing my netbook, so thank you very much for this hobby of yours =)
Looks great, thanks for the hard work
Sweet!! I just bought a 32 GB card the other day. Happy Fathers day to me.
Looks like no sleep week.

Possibly; I'm not sure. At least one person I talked to said that it should be possible via command line utilities, but I'm not the best person to ask about this particular issue, not having convenient access to Mac OS X...

Heh. I've actually been planning this for over a month, after some pointers from eval- - I had a rough version running, but I wanted to make something that users would be able to take advantage of easily. Oddly, it's the UI that's been the difficult part - actually having it do stuff is (relatively speaking) the easy part.
1. Yes, this is moving the Motorola environment to the SD card. Nothing special otherwise.
2. Not really - nothing's changed on that front. I'll be tweaking some of the package states on the filesystem to make upgrades less liable to completely blow up, but if we want to keep some of the niceties that Motorola added, I'll need to port those changes forward (which I have no particular problem with doing).
3. We're stuck with Jaunty for now. Unfortunately, it looks like information I had previously in regards to a version upgrade for Ubuntu don't apply to our phone, so I'll likely start working on an upgrade to 10.04 LTS after this stabilizes.

This is the fun part. Since this is an Android application and not a script, this part should work with any version. I'm currently running 4.1.57 on my phone (I never did get around to upgrading), but once I verify it works there properly, I'll be upgrading to 4.1.83 and testing there as well. There are no issues that I'm aware of that would prevent this first application from running, and the second application (the Python/Gtk one I have planned) should be able to handle any differences between the various ROMs out there.
And the Ubuntu version upgrade question, I answered just above this.
everything is greyed out when i try to use the app..
Epic Sogarth
The ui looks nice though can't wait to test it on 1.8.3 been on 1.5.7 with v2 awhile now updated to 1.8.3 installed the app played with the setting everything looks sweet cant wait for the go ahead XD wouldnt mind testing anything.

Greyed out? I know that the "Go!" and "Uninstall" buttons tell you that it's not implemented yet, but nothing should be grayed out?

Now that I really look at it mine is also. So I'm guessing that's due to 1.83, or GladiAtrix. That's what I'm using.
I'll post a screenshot if you need.
I could go to stock 1.57 upgrade to 1.83 but not until tomorrow night
Thanks for the answers, Sogarth. And congratulations on your gift man, because your sum of intelligence and dedication sure is one. I'll be installing this on my Atrix as soon as it has been stabilized (and, well, actually made useful xD)
I am on Gingerblur 4.5 only things greyed out are Partitioning section, both 'Device to partition' and 'Webtop partition size' items if "Partition ext. storage" is not selected. Also under "Locations" 'Delete filesystem file' is grey if 'Source webtop' is set to 'internal storage'.
All of these being grey makes sense if you read what they are doing......

Unchecking the Partition ext. storage option "ungreyed" the Locations options and Advanced options. Didn't think about doing that since that was one of the goals of this app.
Since I manually partitioned already I should have thought of that.
Had some free time recently so finally got round to opening my OYUA and having a looksy.
ROMCleaner 3.5 works splendid with CWM and OUYA.
Why use it with the OUYA?
Its a fast and easy way to pre-install all your apps and games through a single zip flash in CWM.
No more sideloading Dropbox to download and install everytime you flash a new StockPlus or OTA, have them all ready and waiting for you upon the first boot of the ROM.
If your familiar with ROMCleaner on one of the many devices we ported it to, you'll feel right at home!
As certain design decisions were overlooked with the OUYA and it didt get the following it was expected, I didnt wont make a big deal aout the release but couldnt help playing about with to see what I could get working on it. It worked fine so here we are
Notes
More detaililed guides and instructions can be found in any of the device specific threads for ROMCleaner if you want to have a look at its features but for now Ill leave this little guide for us OUYA users.
I doubt there will be a Aroma version due to its reliance on touch input but will slowly be looking at going through the other individual tools we created before Patrics83 put the Aroma AIO toolkit together.
It starts at v3.5 as this was the last version before moving to Aroma and we kept that consistent across devices.
Any changes will only be visually to the updater-script and the default romcleaner.txt included in the zip as at its core, RC works. I will keep a dated chagelog for you though for any updates to the zip.
Basic Guide
Pre-Requisetes:ClockworkMod Recovery
On your on the root of /sdcard create a (case sensitive) folder structure as so:
Code:
/sdcard/ROMCleaner/FirstBoot/data/app/
/sdcard/ROMCleaner/FirstBoot/system/app/
Place any apks in these folders which you want installed after flashing in the relevent folders
After flashing the ROM, flash ROMCleaner 3.5.zip
Reboot as normal
First boot of the ROM will take extra time due to the apks being sorted by Android when its up and running you will find all the apps in the usual place all ready and waiting!
If you install another launcher I recommend loading OUYA Launcher first and following the setup (wifi, username etc) to get it all sorted before using your preferred launcher.
You can use RC to install other files such as bootanimation.zip (system/media/) as well and are not limited to just apks. I add TwitcyEye's KeyMap mod for example so the mapping is done with no copying files about.
It will set the correct permissions for all the files and folders so dont worry about that.
Cleaning
ROMCleaner has the ability to remove files from the system after the ROM has been flashed, but before first boot, using a text file in a simple user-friendly format.
The default list has not been optimized for OUYA and I have not got round to checking through it yet. I haven't noticed any thing important if it does but you have been warned Ill take a proper look when I get the time.
You have the ability to define a custom list for RC to use by creating a ROMCleaner_user.txt file in /sdcard/ROMCleaner/ and Ive attached a blank one with some detailed instructions on its layour and format. I recommend you use this file until I have time to cross reference the default list with the OUYA files to avoid anything being deleted.
All in all its an easy way to get your apps installed when flashing a ROM be it StockPlus or an official OTA. It requires no special access as its all done in recovery and uses its own busybox.
Anyway, Have a play and let me know how it works for you.
Like a lot of people on XDA I have very little free time these days due to my job and so-called life but will be keeping my eye on this thread and the OUYA in general
#probably for formatted guide
#just in case

Unfortunately thats a completely different thing. All this is done in recovery where as TB etc are app specific done while the OS is up and running.
RC installs (and can remove) the apps before the OS has loaded for the first time.
