Unfortunately, only Motorola can do this by either releasing a 2.2 update or unlocking the bootloader.
You aren't alone, a lot of people are in the same boat.
At least we have root/overclock etc!

Im OT but ..
actually it shoudl be at least we have
pseudo root ( witch basically ONLY allows us to theme and mod sytsem files) and Overclock , there is no ETC unfortunately ..
but yea cant wait to have Flash running . maybe someoen will succeed at porting a pseudo rom of froyo .. who knows ?
How about flash_for_21.apk?
I heard that someone hacked it for HTC EVO but it may not work with MS.
Anyone tried with it?

Didn't work for me, error during install. I think it only works on 2.1 running sense (but don't quote me on that).

We have full root. We dont have an unlocked bootloader.
Apples and Oranges.
The etc referred to the things you can do with root, overclock, apps to sd, kill processes.......

This only works for devices with Flash Lite 3.1 already installed. It replaces Flash Lite with Flash 10.1.

Htere is n o pseudo, root is root, means root privilages. Means we can do whatever we want with system folder. What we can't do is boot another kernel, so only custom roms on same kernel allowed, means no froyo for example. But someone could maky Cryogen ROM but using this kernel, that would mean quite some work.

Actually, No.
We can boot a kernel, Sort of, Inside the current kernel (Kexec)
We can't write anything past the bootloader. Nothing. We have to do everything during runtime.

flash lite, doesnt work on the milestone, its linked in by code with the HTC browser and well i manged to get the APk for flash lite or (hero flash) but it doenst actually work.
unless anyones knowlegable on how to edit the browser i cant see it being available.
but saying that it cannot be that easy, ive had dolphin HD, which states that it is very very flash friendly, and neither apk will allow the flash to work.

That's not true. It's just a placebo effect. Flash 10.1 doesn't replace anything.

How can we know well if it is Flash Lite or Flash 10.1?
Is there any way to install Flash 10.1 for MS?

Seriously? This is turning into the 'ask the same questiln without reading answers' thread.
Milestone can'T have Flash 10 because of the locked bootloader.
The download people have that works on 2.1 with Sense UI, which isn't native on milestone. Use lite.

Yep. I've easily installed Flash 10.1, but as already mentioned it doesn't help. The problem is that the browser itself doesn't support Flash plugin.
Thanks to all guys who help me in the other thread...
Nexus is a really fantastic phone...so smooth...
now...I need some advice:
1) I think now is installed the official 2.2.1, I need to root, do you think it's better to root on my 2.2 or install a custom ROM? if yes, what rom?
2)there is a way to wake up the phone when it is sleeping with the trackball?
thanks a lot in advace
Definitely root and try some of the gingerbread Roms. I'm on miui 1.6.10 and really enjoy the hybrid android and iPhone feel. Cm7 nightly is really nice too.

Yep the way I use is cyanogenmod 7 Nightlies which come with that feature I don't know if MIUI rom would have it or not never tried it
so to install a rom I have to root before....
Rom have all languages?
Maybe I can try the cyanogen based on 2.3? does it have some important issue? or it's better to stay with a rom based on 2.2?
Any rom have pre-installed App2SD? or I have to install it on my own?
if you don't want to flash a custom rom try superoneclick on this forum

Yes. No Lock by BOD. Been using it for a year now. No issues with it. https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock&feature=search_result
I don't have problem to install ROM, I just like that the rom is in italian language...(at least for now) :|
@bobbyphoenix
It's not what I looking for...mmm do you know iphone? that you can light on the display when it is in stand by with the home button?
so i need the same, because wake up the display with the power button is really annoying...
----
So I follow some tutorial to root and than I can install a rom like cyanogen?
I go to the 2.3? or 2.2?
it's normal that the phone is warm in the rear-bottom part when I use it?
I have just the wifi on and i go to the market open apps and so on...
thanks
you absolutely should be going for cyanogen 7 which is 2.3.4 based ROM. that has trackball wake and all the good stuff like color trackball alerts, etc.
then you can try MIUI if you like.
but those are the no brainers to go to.
ok so I have to root the phone when it is still on 2.2.1 and than install cyanogen...I find the tutorial here?
anyway
it is normal that the phone is warm during the intense use of app and game, and that is really hot now that is on charge?
thanks
To root the phone I have to loose the guarantee?

Yes. You remind me of when I first got mine. It felt like I could fry an egg. I got used to it though. I think it has to do with how the phone is designed. The aluminum body brings the heat to the outside surface. Nothing to worry about.

Just search Nexus One windows driver in google, then download and install like any other file.
I got the drivers for my N1 at theunlockr.com, It's very detailed with a video and written walkthrough (props to the unlockr.com). here's the link:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
After I unlocked the bootloader using the tutorial above, I rooted my N1 using another walkthtough at the unlockr.com, here's the link:
http://theunlockr.com/2010/01/02/how-to-root-the-nexus-one/
Let us know how it goes.

2. Install xrecovery.

okay man im using foryobread now!! looks awesome soo far!! thanks ,,
Usually higher "v" means more features (and maybe more performance), but maybe lower stability.
FroyoBread, in my opinion, is stable at v023b
now that i have rotted , installed xrecovery,, using froyobread,, where can i get a overclock module??
Look in my signature dude.....
I have used Froyobread since v12 and i loved it, until GingerDX arrived. I would give it a try if i was you as its from Doixanh who created Froyobread and its so fast and smooth, also check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151293
its multiboot and its good, also attached in the post is dualrecovery.zip which will give you both xrecovery and CWM. Have some fun and remember that the bootloader is locked so go mod your phone in the safe knowledge that pc companion will fix any problem i have come across.

yep,i love the stock eclair better than any custom roms.i dont play games,so my priority is the stability, usability, performance.
stock eclair+JIT+APP2SD=Perfect
@all yes multitouch is available for grabs on eclair. you have to be rooted because its a module that requires root access.
click here for cypress, real dual touch (only works for certain phones, but it works great because i have it)
or for fake dual touch for synaptics devices click here
(dont know how it works. i dont run synaptics but i know that you have to put your fingers in a special place)

Try Link2SD that u can download for free from market. It needs root and a second partition on the Sdcard.
It's working in Opera Mini 6.But not in stock browser.
first i was afraid to unlock my phone boot-loader to install custom kernel but finally i did it and its work
but there's a little prob i hope any one can help me to solve it
1- after installing alfs or nAa kernel the status bar looks laggy and when i touch any icon in app drawer its suddenly open another icon but not all the time and the lock screen on \ of CRT effect looks very laggy am using atifroyo rom btw and its awesome and fast compared with any gingerbread custom roms
2- i decided to get back to stock kernel but i cant find ANY WORKING LINK here
all links is dead
thx guys and srry for my bad english

Pls reconsider using custom kernel
I also got the same probs before, but I suggest U continue using custom kernel b4 revert back to stock kernel cuz actually it's much, much faster and stable with so many advantages. For ur prob, I suggest:
1) remember: ALWAYS do FULL WIPE b4 install any ROM (& of coz, compatible ROM that goes with the kernel) without do FULL WIPE the data might be conflicted with previous ones
2) back up ur apps with Titanium Backup: the easiest and so far safe method
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED!!!
thx guys for help ^^
