Hello guys...
Which brings me here is that I want your opinion ...
I'm planning to work in ICS 4.0.4 rom, do a normal costum rom, tweaks, add theming, features, etc.
Rom will be based on the FOP, I will not fix bugs, of course if I know the solution to resolve, I resolve: P
i will be updating the rom as new nightlys come out from FOP team.
What i wanna ask you is if you want the rom now or when it cames out the rom ICS stable.
If i launch the rom now, i will be updating the rom as new nightlys come out from FOP team.
Stable.

ofcourse stable :fingers-crossed:

Maybe in the process you can fix some bugs and help FOP team.
the best way in my opinion, is that you start working on it now in order to minimalise a late for the future. after that, publishing or not will be as your wants, following stability of the rom

Would be awesome if someone could get the camera to work and make a stable version of CM9, that's all I want. perhaps some overclocking features would be great too...
What about helping FOP instead starting from nothing.

Why would you want OC on our cm9?It's fast....
why would we consern us about speed before it's stable?
Imo it would be better to tune/super tune the roms that we ald have rather than have too many. ... just saying.. .

Have to give this one a go, this is what I have been waiting for a GB MIUI based on stock! Giddy Up!!!
edit: Ok this rom has lots of promise, but for now it cant be used as a daily driver. A few minor bugs need looking into, would be great if we could get some devs to look into this. I much prefer GB based roms for my arc, and this one fully working would be spectacular!
seriously..
if someone made a complete ROM based on this,
gonna be rock on roll!
gonna be legendary

i want to test it but can somebody explain how to make it work?
Copy the rom to SD card and install with CWM, same as with you would any other rom
i tried but it stuck/restart (don't remember) to boot screen. using gb kernel.
i love miui because of simplicity, & app launcher management (& hate redudancy, thousant of shortcut for 1 app), reason for me keep using go launcher.
but i also can't stand memory hungry ics based & battery hungry cm based rom.
Dev needed, would love to see this rom fixed
I have put together a working rom based on this for Arc and Arc S with a few tweaks. Keep in mind I am NOT a developer, more just a cook lol

will upload now

I am trying to flash an stable ICS rom for my brothers phone but I really can't find anyone without major bugs. CM9 = to much bugs, Nyx RC 5.0 is just pure ****, Slim ICS (what the **** is wrong with the font?) So can someone recommend me a nice and clean ICS rom that is stable enough for daily use?
I just installed CM9 today and it works pretty good despite the camera and the radio (and now there are alternatives to avoid those bugs too).

CM9 is sluggish as hell so I wouldn't recommend that either. However I don't really understand your font issue with Slim ICS. It does only have 5 system languages but you can install additional fonts to display languages via the "Updater" app included.
In your case as you've eliminated Slim ICS, I guess ICS333 (Team 3xtr3m3) is probably the best one out there. AOSP based with toggles from AOKP and offers a good balance between performance and battery life, with no bugs I can really tell.
Team-Nyx (RC5) yet the most stable rom for me on ics and its pure AOSP

Actually I find cm9 to be the fastest. I've gotten the highest benchmarks compared to slim ics, aokp, etc. Plus I have a bit more trust on cyanogenmod than aokp. Team nyx is pure ics stock but its really slow. Cm9 all the way for me always.

Hi !
Unfortunately, though ICS is extremely good the Custom ICS has it's quirks !
This is because they are developed without source codes from Samsung and no matter how good they are, at a certain point they show their lack of support which they never received from the manufacturer in the first place and therefore after a few days ( or if lucky, weeks) things don't work properly and needs reboots frequently.
Having ICS is like having a short love affair.
Use Gingerbread or change phones.
Sad fact, but true.
Look at the custom ICS camera and look at the original ICS camera. Do you think that we are going to get all the goodies in the SGS ?
Similarly, there are many great features of ICS which the developers cannot give us.
Time to move on.
Take care.

Hi.
Can you please stop posting these opinions as facts, when the "problems" can easily be fixed. This is a development forum, at least it used to be, and you cannot expect everything to work right out of the box like official stock firmware (even though it does most of the time). It's not like you've been scammed by a car salesman selling you a car without an engine.
No offense intended, but please stop it.

Everybody has his own taste, some people like AOSP, some people like AOKP, some people like CM9 while some people like slim ROM regardless with few bugs ... also there are people here in this forum (like you) who install ROMs incorrectly n find it **** (yes i am pointing to Team Nyx's ROM). When you have tried some of the ROMs, why don't you try all of the ROMs?
p.s. Team Nyx's AOSP is the only ICS ROM I found stable and less battery consuming after slim, this is only my point of view.

However, I don´t know a thing about Incredible S roms. I am looking for a stable and fast rom, he is an android noob
so it has to have little to no bugs. Also ICS or JB would be good.
I don´t know if MIUI is available for this phone, but if so, is it fast and bug free? How about AOKP or CM9/10?
Which roms would you guys recommend, I´d like to try some non-sense

MIUI works great on this For AOKP I would try IceCold. CM9/CM10 are still full of bugs here but if you want you can have a look at them also. I would recommend CodeNameAndroid, as it has got the coolest tweaks
I'd recommend you to give Paranoid Android a try.
Except for some kernel related stuff, there are no major issues, and yes - it is responsive. And with some undervolting I get really good battery life out of it as well, even though I overclock.

*edit*
"little to no bugs"
Well, CyanogenMod 7, MIUI or Sense-ROM's seems to be your options in that case.
Pretty much every AOSP/AOKP ROM with ICS/JB will have the same bugs since the current kernels that are used for them are hacked to work... so if he doesn't want any bugs he should stay away from ICS/JB ROM's that are AOSP/AOKP - for now at least, but if it doesn't matter that much if some stuff isn't working properly and so on: go for Paranoid Android or Codename android.

Miui ICS is based off HTC's ICS ruu so there are not many problems either. Some problems from the chinese miui release were fixed by spongychicken. His rom is in the dev section, have a look

Hey guys, I'm thinking of compiling a CM ROM from source next month (have to wait for data cap to reset) and was wondering what you guys would prefer, a significantly more stable CM9, or a more buggy (and more headaches for me) CM10 ROM? I personally would prefer to do a CM9 ROM since it would be easier to support and fix bugs on, since we already have relatively stable, working builds of AOSP ICS. CM10 would be great as well, but it would be much harder for me to support, since I would be the second dev for the Inc S to build a JB ROM from source for us. I just don't think I have the know-how to be the only one working on it, and the only one fixing bugs and whatnot, without any already working source code to view and compare.
So I could compile CM9.2 stable, and we would have the latest CM9 code using kaijura's IceColdSandwich as a reference. I would have an easier time supporting the ICS ROM since I would have working source code to compare and review. Also, it would be significantly more stable simply due to the fact that multiple devs for our device have already worked on it. I'm sure I'd be able to fix bugs and support it fairly easily, other devs are the best resource around
Or I could compile a CM10 ROM. I would have to take device proprietary files from nik's JB ROM's, which would mean my compiled ROM would share a lot of the same bugs our current JB ROM's already have. I could support and fix bugs in CM10, it would just take longer and be harder to do. Nothing's impossible though, so if that's what the community wants, then that's what I'll build!
So what do you guys think? CM10 or CM9?

I'm torn between the two! On the one hand, I want a stable ROM which would be CM9, but I also love that JellyBean goodness. I've also seen some people here that simply want a stable CM9 that's up to date, and other's that want the latest CM10 despite bugs. That's the point of this thread
I would tell u is that first for cm9 when we get a stable awesome cm9 for sure it will be easy to get a cm10... btw are u going to build a kernel?

I could give it a try, but if nik and others couldn't get a 3.0 kernel up and running for AOSP, then I'll have a damn hard time. I'd prefer to have someone else make the new kernel, I don't know much about compiling them. Till then, I would just use X-ICS4.0 for the kernel.
Make a CM9, CM10 would have in the end too much bugs and they would just chance again. I'm waiting for a stable cm9 anyway

Yeah. CM9 would be OK for me too. I can help with testing if needed.
But what would be those great JB features we would be missing out? Sry I haven't been following the differences between 4.0 and 4.1.

My 2 cents.
CM9. Kernel sources for ICS has been release by HTC and ANY AOSP rom that is stable would be very welcome in our community.

Jelly Bean is nice and all,
But the odds of getting a stable AOSP rom are much higher with cm9.
CM9 I would say. I hope you can fix data problems for Vodafone NL users. We always have problems with data connection on AOSP ROMs.

We all have to thank our devs for making an effort, but unfortunately the CM10 is now more for testing purposes only. Recently, there's been a lot of progress...with new bootloader and some custom kernel: It would be fantastic, because the CM10 is so much smoother and faster than stock ICS roms. This is an CM10 based rom, so all the bugs are included, unresolved.
Is there anyway to overclock in this ROM, brothers?
