Well, sorry but i going to disapoint you. Just because samsungs stock bootanimation is not bootanimation.zip, its 2 files named bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg... custom ROMs and especialy ICS (Wich I see you use) can`t read QMG bootanimations...So you can`t get it, sorry!
Thanks for the reply

Hello,
Sorry if this is wrong place for posting this, I was just watching some of the progress of supercurio with the Nexus S porting.... and I loved this effect.
Could it be possible to have it on our Galaxy S as a mod?
Here it's a Video, I can't seem to embed it on post right:

He does and it's available in Darky's Gingerbread Theme.

OP never said it was CWM flashable?
You have to push it using Root Explorer.

Binaries work on Bi-Winning 3?
hi to all again
I've just been looking at some more rom's for my sgs but i'm haveing some trouble trying to find the right way to get Simply Honey 3.8 Revolution on my phone.
I am currently running:
Firmware: 2.2.2

Kernel: 2.6.32.9
[email protected]#22
Build: Darky's v9.5.XWJS8
So if you could please point me in the right direction.
Cheers madant2011
1- Disable lagfix if you are using it, backup EFS, etc.
2- Flash stock JVP via ODIN
3- Flash CFroot kernel via Odin
4- Flash GingerHoney via CWM
Thanks for your help, I'm all done now exeped for which is the best kerrnel to run and were to get it from.
cheers again

I have a question about kernel. Now i'm running cf root kernel...btw i want to change bootanimation so i have to change kernel too. If i change kernel, do i lose root access? what about applications i have installed? Before flashing new kernel do i have to remove lagfix/ext4 or can i leave it?
Thanks for help

Changing of bootanimation does not require u to change ur kernel.Changing of kernel will not make u lose ur root access.Only changing of roms make u lose ur apps unless u install (no wipe) roms. Before changing kernel u need to disable lagfix before changin kernel to prevent problems appearing

Are you sure is not required? i've seen everywhere that only some kernels supports changing of bootanimation. How can i change bootanim w/o flashing new kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Not all kernels support changing the bootanimation.

Try absolute system tools for great interface with previews and massive choice of boot animations
Is that an app available on market?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Anyway the problem is not where/how to place .zip file... The problem is that lot of kernels don't recognize .zip bootanimations, but just .qmg boots.

I just bought a captivate. I rooted and unlocked it ( now t- mobile) . When I go to rom manager to make a recovery it doesn't recognize my device. Only gives option for i9000, epic, fascinate. What do I need to do to make a backup/ recovery?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Unfortunately there isn't an official clockworkmod recovery for the captivate. You'll need to either flash a kernel with cwm already embedded, or manually load up cwm on your SD card. What stock ROM are you on atm?
Sent from my AOKP icy-glitched Captivate via Tapatalk 2
Sorry you sorta wrong on some things. There isn't official CWM for GB or Froyo. But there is for Eclair. Sounds like he is on GB at the moment. You are correct about having to flash a kernel with CWM in it.
I stand corrected...but yes unless your still on eclair or restore back to eclair, there isn't an official cwm

Yea, I am on GB 2.3.5 baseband UCKK4. I also have a vibrant.I am really surprised at how different the two phones are. I would like to put a custom rom on the cappy. What rom would you suggest? Kernel?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Suggesting ROMs ins't allow because you will most likely get arguing. Flash Corn Kernel and try out some custom stock ROMs if you don't know what you're doing. If you have an idea. I suggest ANY of the ICS ROMs
I would like a stable ICS rom. PM me with any suggestions.

vcremoveboot is the revert zip for voltage control, in case you have unstable settings applied at boot.
Hello XDA community
I've asked the developer of Elegant Theme to bring support of this very nice theme for the I9305. But he needs the original systemui.apk and I was wondering if anyone could upload it for me
That's what the developer asked me:
"flash the firmware using odin.root it.install root explorer and copy systemui.apk from system\app to sdcard.upload it"
I hope anyone could help, so we can get a working version of this amazing theme!

Of course, but he asked for the original one from a stock ROM, and I'm running a custom samsung based ROM, I don't know if that makes a difference.
