T-Mobile getting the 2X as the G2x

ABOUT TIME TMO!! I cant wait for this. I definitely would pay top dollar for this phone.

I think it does!! hopefully they remove lg's UI and keep it stock!! either way, its still better than motoblur!!

Probably just HSPA+ (4G) and maybe vanilla android and hopefully gingerbread!!

A lot of people are speculating that T-Mobile changed the name to G2X to match the other "G" series phones. The same people have inferred that this means te phone will be stock Android. Hopefully this is the case! I will definitely pick it up.

Currently using the Nexus One and MyTouch 4G, I would jump on this new phone in a heart beat. I hope the LG doesn't have that cheap plastic feel, I enjoy a quality built device, good hardware goes a very long way in the way I choose my phones. The Nexus One to date has the best feeling in your hands, I still use it as my daily phone. HTC builds quality phones, I have sent my N1 back to HTC several times for the screen issue, they fixed it, changed the mother board and many other parts. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another device from HTC.

now the question is when is the release date?

I heard later this month. I hope so, I am trading out my Nexus S to get the cash together and will be using an iPhone 4 till its released. :-( I plan on getting it on day one.

how does it take to get the unlock code from the website services?
can anyone give me an estimated time for that?
guyz i ll be in us between 12-18 march, hope it ll be released and get the code in very soon, dont want to buy an atrix

Awesome that TMo is picking up O2X as their next G-series device.
Hope it will be launched with stock Android - porting that ROM to European device will be a piece of cake!
O2X + stock Gingerbread = total win

Some Tmobile reps over at Tmonews have posted that the LG reps have come to their stores to demo the phone and that is stock android, has 4G and it is fast! Also the release date is supposedly April 20th alongside the G-slate. Heh can't wait to get this.

I spoke to a Tmo rep yesterday...and probably the first guy who was totally knowledgeable about HD2 and its capabilities and such. I've asked several reps about the G2x and none of them seem to be even remotely aware. But after talkin for a while with this guy, I asked him about the G2x...and he said since I know this much, there's no harm confirming the arrival of the G2x...he said the launch shud be with 3-4 weeks after the launch at UK. More than likely, the speculated April 20th seems plausible. Can't wait!!

Is 4g confirmed? Would really suck if this phone had everything but 4g speeds

New LG Flagship

So... I was on the Negri Electronics site about to buy this beast of a phone and I think, maybe I'll look at one more review. So I pull up the verge and I see this:

So they are planning on releasing a new quad-core 10+ megapixel phone in September?... Bgr reported essentially the same thing. Thats only two months away! I hate to be a spoiler of sorts but this is crazy. I can't believe that weeks after they finally release their new flagship they drop this bomb on us. I'm glad I didn't buy it but at the same time it makes me kind of sad because I really wanted to love an lg phone again. Guess I'll have to wait until September

It is RUMORED to be announced in September. When do you think you'll be able to buy it given that the Optimus 4X HD is not even released in more than half of the world?

HEY...that's too cool, honestly I thought I'd never see this kind of 'argumentation' again...but here we are. During the 80's we had this running gag 'Don't buy today, tomorrow it's twice the power for half the money!'
I really advice u to wait. Not until September because I heard a rumor that in December...or perhaps January... Stay tuned!

Quad core Krait S4 Sounds nice but i'll stick to the 4x for now. This won't make it into store till December at least IMHO.

Yes this is a great phone for all matters. 4g is nice but only a concern if your carrier provides it. Only one here in Australia does, and they would not be my first choice of carrier based on previous experience.
On another note: How is LG in regards to rooting and and flashing custom roms? Coming from an older Galaxy S and first generation tab, I would ask for a comparison in regards torooting and flashing Samsung devices. I know how valuable good dev support is.

Easier than Samsung but do not expect development by lg at all. So that's the advice and ask all the lg owners, I got 6 different lg phones non of them lg update released yet, custom roms on every one. Of them or I'll still be in 2 with 1.6, or 2.2 in the others it sucks but is easier than Samsung for sure no counters or any other weird stuff

LG already released an Update for the 4x, it was 2 weeks after i bought this phone.
And they are working on the next Update (V10c).
So i think LG want to make things better, and so far they do!

Its amaizing how you guys manage to give away phones. I have been trying to sell mine for 6 months and nobody even asked.
I guess I should sell it for 50 dollars plus a ticket to hawai to make it attractive.
Oh and mate, if you read this, the note 2 has its life cycle/support terminated by samsung.

You might not be aware, but OEM support ends within a year of a phone's release.
OEM support has an impact, as everyone here in the LG 4X forum knows, on the release of custom roms aswell.
maybe samsung does a different policy then LG, Sony, HTC but then, this is an issue for something else.

I must join in on the farewell train, too. It's been a good year with 4X, but I got a chance to try something new and I took it. Otherwise, who is to say when one would present itself again.
It was not an easy task to replace P880s hardware for equal price, not easy at all, but I eventually settled on a Sony Xperia SP. I turned a blind eye on some specs and welcomed others.
I hope I gave a tiny bit of contribution to 4X community while I was here. I expect to see you again in other parts of the XDA.

Hello all,
It was really happy year with this LG device. I will place it into drawer for flashing so I may visit here in future.
Next Tuesday I will start using ascend P7.
Biggest thanks to laufer, demetris and adam. At least I think they did the most of work. If I am wrong then also thanks to others who put much efforts to this device. I will miss such great support on the new device I am sure.

Android L update- not until Q4 of 2015

Just got off the phone with an LG rep. And sadly i have been told that the update will not be released until quarter 4 of this year. *table flip

Can't get her soon enough for me!!! Any hint on a time line?

Been trying to port cm12 kernel to this phone but its really hard... I make zimage. And still cant get to stick to the phone

I wouldn't take an LG rep seriously. I'm sure it won't be next month, but I also highly don't believe Q4. I also called LG to factually prove my point. I was told it was being worked on and within a month. Sprint reps and reps in general including salesman in the stores only go off what they see and here most of the time. Example being XDA. I'm very thankful for those developing for this phone. I am not being disrespectful in any way. But people, you are likely to see official for this phone before all bugs would get worked or with CM12 or others.

Korean G2, G Pro 2, G Pro and Even GX got the update. Don't knew what taking it so long, As G Flex is the premium device..

There will be no Lollipop Update for our Flex, because LG dont care about you or me i like my Flex, but i hate LG update politics, so Flex is my last LG phone

As the post above says last lg phone... for me this is also my last lg phone. It was cool cause it was innovative....now just problems with it. My wife has a g2 and its terrible also. I see above some speak of cm12...... i really dont think so. Hardly any developement goes into this phone, the few that make it,as stated above,cant get the kernel to stick. I really dont believe this phone is going much further. I seen an ad on tv with tmobile paying off devices and contracts, really leaning in their direction cause i do not want to pay another dollar on this phone. We will see by this weekend. Still want a vanilla android feel.

If you wish to install a custom rom, FORGET about the first one! The ATT variant's bootloader is locked and no one has figured out how to unlock it! Not sure which variant the second link is though.

But it has replaceable battery ,external SD card it has also the same screen as note 5 .it is worth it, no ?

I'd go with the second one if I were you... on instinct.
Just make sure it has 4G.
The Note 5 is also worth it if you can find one around the same price.
The note 7 refurbished will also be online also.
