Keyboard problem in Paranoid Android(cm9) - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know how to fix this? Lowering the DPI or increasing it doesn't seem to fix it.

I'm using stock keyboard and I'm using 160 in both System and user Apps but one wierd thing is that there are some values that I did not insert when I got to change density per app. Like in android system it's using 120, in browser 140 etc. Does this affect anything?

Found out what the problem was. It is in the status bar I just needed to resize it down to 120 DPI which I don't like because it's really small :/

LCD density ?

I am totally confused as to what density should be set for best experience on our galaxy mini . Can you guys please tell what all are you using ?

That of stock
No use changing density, lot of apps will stop working and you'll get lot of fc's... btw. that was already discussed some time ago...
But isn't it helpful for games also decreasing it a bit should be no problem I guess if fcs then a wipe data can fix that.

If density changes can not download from market
It doesn't work like that, it depends on apps, and changing density is causing incompatibilities
Oh OK thanks

Although you can make the screen seem larger by making everything smaller. I think it's best to leave it as it is

density can effect only apps, games will not have any change
CM7.2 looks great on 110 DPI, but apps like xda app, dropbox, and a couple of others do not work for me. But yeah, more stuff fits on the screen, and my small fingers like it . Anyway, i want the apps mentioned above to work, so stock 120DPI it is

The DPI of the display is how many physical pixels there are in one inch square of the phones screen, software cannot change this.
There may be software that could possibly force the phone to use a lower resolution, but i'm not sure why you would want that.

Hi, Thx for the reply, there are few apps in the plays store that can change the DPI, But many will brick the phone, I had seen few people chaining the DPI of Xperia Z to make sure there will be extra info displayed on the screen that u dont need to scroll, Also that i want this is be same as my previous phone's DPI

I got bricked after using an app.
If you're rooted you can edit the build.prop yourself, or use Xposed to control each app separately.

Manual Brightness Control Stuck

This is an odd problem for me. I really love the Lux Auto-Brightness app and use it all the time but I've been having this issue that's now preventing Lux from doing it's job. Third-party app control of Screen Brightness doesn't work. If I go into the Android settings and change the brightness from there it works fine but every single Third-party app I try can't control my brightness. I can't even control the Screen Brightness from within MXPlayer anymore and that was working fine as well. I've thought maybe something is wrong with Lux but uninstalling and rebooting didn't fix anything. Does anybody have any ideas what's causing this?

I'm running rooted Stock 4.1.2 with only mod being the change of dpi to 160. I've made no other mods.

Stupid question but did you try changing the dpi back to the original setting? If so and it didn't change anything I would just do a dirty flash of stock rom. Changing dpi can screw up a lot of things.

Changing the dpi didn't help. Doing a dirty flash is an idea but I'd prefer trying something less extreme before doing that. It'd be a pain to re-setup root and things just to get brightness control fixed. At that point I'd probably just move on to a Custom ROM.

Issue is with android_vendor_pa mb886 makefile pointing to XHDPI overlay, fixed it and submitted a pull request to the dev team. Temp fix is to manually add the XHDPI overlay into the rom. -- just replace the contents of this file with /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf and replace the boot animation with this

System Interface Problem!
When on phone ui mode I started getting a failure message that said System Interface has stopped working... The problem disappeared by setting my phone on tablet ui mode. This means that the statusbar is on the bottom of the screen and some system related layouts is tinytiny..
Now I'm tired of tablet ui and want to go back, but then I start getting the fail message again. It pops up every 5 seconds so it's pretty annoying. Any idea on how to fix this? Without doing a hard reset?

¿DPI change?

I want to change the DPI 220 would be right.? currently in 320 this may serve to improve the quality a bit?
Okay, just download a dpi changer front the market. In my opinion 220 would be to small, but whatever your preference. Having said that, this is the development section. The only thing that you should post in here is development, not questions about development, requests, or other things like that. Just for your future knowledge because some people get really irritated by posting non development in this area.
Oh by the way in the unofficial development thread in the general section there was a discussion about this and an app that worked great.

Ya that's how I do it to. I just didn't want to suggest that risk him because i get the feeling he's still learning abs didn't want him playing around in there....is easy to get a soft brick
