Ics leak question... - Motorola Droid Bionic

I want to try out ics leak but i dont want to be locked out from going back. Now thats it leaked with everything working is there a rom that's uses this leaked ics system to make everything work with a rom like teamgummy for example?

You just need to keep checking with the forums. I am sure with the new kernel they will get thigs fully working on there end. Tried the Liquid rom and WIFI wasn't working so they are still working on thing to make them right.

I guess i got to be patient

Hell why wait. The leak right now is way better then 905 could ever be. Very steady 4g and alot of extras included. Jump on it while the links are live.

Agreed, plus you're not locked out from rolling back to .905 anyway.

I just switched to the ICS leak .2233 and WOW! Soooo much better than .905. I honestly have no desire to go to a custom ROM anymore. The ICS leak is perfect. A OC'able kernel would be nice, but the .2233 comes at 1.2ghz already, good improvement over the old 1.0ghz.

How can you see it is OC'd at 1.2 already? CPU spy lists 1.0 as the highest speed (for me at least).

I use ROM Toolbox and got to CPU Tweaks, or whatever its called and its set at 1200mhz.

That is strange! I just used the same file as everyone else. Not sure if it makes a difference but did you update to .905 using RSD or by OTA from Verizon? I did it using OTA from Verizon.
My governor was also set to "Hotplug" by default, not sure if that matters or not.

Fxd back to 902, took the 905 as OTA then flashed the ICS leak

You used quadrant. I am uploading my screenshot with quadrant for comparison..
Ours are the same... minus im at 1.2ghz i wasnt OC'd prior either, i was running stock ROM .905 rooted.

i've been using the ultimate bionic theme for go launcher since the lg revolution came out, its freaking awesome. then the first thing i did when i got my bionic on sep. 8th was install this theme, and i found out recently that the same developer of the theme also makes it for ADW. and he responds really quick if you have any questions or requests.
Yeah I'm loving it!

Guys, the theme, and indeed, ALL of Android Utopia's work has been pulled from the market. I talked to the dev, Brian, yesterday, and he's filed an appeal, and is also applying to the Amazon App store so he can get his work back up. Unfortunately, this theme won't be available until Google lets him back in, or until the work gets cleared over at Amazon. Just wanted to shed some light on the issue.

[Resolved] Update from DINC2?

I am eligible for a discounted update, putting the Bionic at a price point of $150.
I am also poised for a "free every two" offer 7/12
Wait or not?
Sell the DINC2 and upgrade?
Or hold on and wait for the next "greatest" thing?
Ideas?
Thanks in advance
not that the Bionic is a bad phone but
You have an upgrade,
I'd use it on the Razr, Razr MAXX or galaxy nexus. If its the money, the Razr is a better and newer phone for $200 and i believe its bogo right now (or will be if i remember reading right)
I figure I can sell the DINC2 for 100 to 150. I havnt had the chance to put hands on a RAZR yet.

I've owned a Dinc2 then a Bionic then a Galaxy Nexus. If this update fixes the data craptivity then the only reason to buy a Nexus is it's unlocked bootloader and ICS. If you don't care about such things then I would take the Bionic over the Dinc2. Want more detail PM me.
I think for the lower price the bionics is a great deal over the razr or nexus. Its nearly the same phone as the razr and the only reason for a nexus over a bionic is the unlocked bootloader. I say go for the bionic and save some money.
If you're able to get a Rezound, I would get that instead of a Bionic, or anything Motorola. Much better Rom Development community on HTC than Motorola. I'm not a fan of the 3 button setup that the Nexus has (I've had an Android for 3 years and got used to the 4 buttons too much to change)

How much of a deal breaker is not having the boot loader locked? Noob question...... Why is that important to have unlocked?

Not having a bootloader makes things more difficult. I don't believe its the only reason for the amount of development though. The bionic suffers a lot from Verizon showing it up with the Razr and the nexus not too long after it was released. If the bionic wouldn't have been.delayed so long, I'm sure we would have seen more development than we have.

Lets see what Motorola brings us with ics. I've read rumors that it may come with the option to unlock the bootloader. While I don't necessarily believe that, with Google taking over and them announcing unlocked bootloaders for Europe, its not entirely unbelievable. If it comes to be true, development will really take off.
Motorola really should unlock the bootloader and allow this phone to live up to its name.

I would trade your Bionic for the Rezound. I had an Inc2 and loved it. Wish I went to Rezound instead of Bionic. If you are into installing roms, the Bionic is not for you. Development is dead here. Motorola killed this phone. Also there is a booby trap waiting for you around every corner with an encrypted bootloader phone if you want to mod it.
If you aren't going to mod/ rom it performs pretty well. I now get data drops every day just about (which I didn't before), but they are only for a couple minutes I guess. Restart connections app from the market helps.

Yeah the last release had this custom light level. I'm on 1.0 and the only draw back for me is the mass storage not working. I would never use this ordinarily as I use es file to transfer anything but use USB to watch movies at work.

With 1.0 I don't have any 3G/4G connectivity problems, but the front facing camera doesn't work with Skype. Kind of important for me, I use my Skype a lot. I'll give it a shot when the camera works.

I think I misspoke. I don't think there is a patch for Motorola Qualcomm devices. I was just checking out the Illusion Post for the N4 and it listed Advanced Gamma & Color app under the addons, but it looks like it requires faux's N4 kernel.
Faux123 used to build for the atrix 4g but don't think he supports newer moto devices

Ok, installed
One bug off the bat (nothing huge) is that my BT headset keeps making a snapping noise when ever there is no audio being streamed (This is a Motorola S11 Flex HD using the Apt-X codec). That codec may be the issue, but thought I would share.
Very intuitive app, BTW. Very nice so far.
EDIT: Further testing: this sound is whenever audio starts/stops. Not a big deal for music, but if you keep on system sounds it can be annoying. For now I have disabled screen touch sounds and it has stopped being so frequent since it tries to send all of those touches to the headset and the phone speaker.
Anyone know why email isn't on this ROM? The corporate one?

You can flash at any time. If you flash a rom flash this after. And remember only for stock based roms.

Anybody tested out the kernel yet? Any good/bad reviews? Im itching to try it out so bad, but I tried the other kernel in the G2 development thread by Wooster (i think) and it jacked my phone up a lil bit. Wouldnt officially connect to Sprint network and wouldnt let me update my profite while I was on it. So I'm waiting to hear some feedback before I try this one out to save me the headache. A good custom kernel is the last piece of the puzzle I need to be totally happy on a STOCK ROM for damn near the first time ever lol. Loving my Xposed tweaks now...just need that custom kernel to make it officially official lol.
Does anyone know if this helps with disabling the Screen Adaptive brightness? To get rid of the low brightness flicker while browsing web pages.
I'm using it and I really haven't had any issues. I download No Frills CPU and it's clocked at 2.496 GHz max and 300 MHZ min with ondemand governor. I do see an improvement on my battery but that's with slight usage. That's all the info I have for now hope this helps:good:

Lol not necessarily. Just might mean not enough people have tried it yet. Nobody (with an LS980) complained about wootevers build either and it jacked up my phone when I flashed it.

Do we have a stock kernel to revert to if needed?

I tried it last night then did a benchmark and my scores went from the 36ks to barely 18 splashed my old backup

Frequencies are handled properly now. CPU isn't handled to clock up all cores to max when benchmarking applications are run anymore. OEMs do this a lot and it's considered cheating. That's why the Nexus 5 doesn't score as high in bechmarks, because AOSP doesn't cheat.
