Can't say I have. What apps are you usually running? (or in the background)? Are you on 4G? Strong cell strength? GPS? Bluetooth? Etc can you give us more details as to when you see them?

Normal stuff, email, facebook, xda app, nothing special. this happened when using different apps, once was firefox, the other was the built in email client. first time lte was turned off, the second time it was not.
may be you have to clean caches simply.
Have you tried a Factory Reset? I know a lot of people don't like/enjoy doing that....but you just "updated" an OS from 2.3.6 to 4.0.4.
I personally always factory reset whenever going from one OS version to the next.
2.x to 4.x....YES a Factory Reset can cure many many issues.
2.x to 2.y....No, just update and run with it...

I don't know about any list of fixes between the 2 releases. Most likely not going to be published either. That said, I've no issues with 213 yet, except for 2 random reboots that seem to have been cleared up by clearing both caches.
One thing i noticed moving between.211-.213 is my gps seems to be much more active, almost like it had a hard time getting a fix. Same thing happens outside, and i have all my locations on. It's not terrible just an observation

I factory reset today, and im having this problem like ago, came from MIUI yesterday and those problems came back to CM7.
EDIT: I see in OS monitor that the process of settings Storage is alive using more that 2% but less than 15%, is that normal?

Are you running the latest cm7? (as in its 2.3.5?) Pretty sure that bug was fixed past 2.3.3 (I could be wrong)
Edit: After reading a little on their wiki (its been a while since Ive used Cyanogenmod) I found out that If you are running a "stable" version you are on 2.3.3 and that's a bug on android's side.

im running the latest nightly, with stock kernel, but my phone was working good, since the update to 2.3.5, i think the problem is an app, but i dont know if its really an app, because is something in the OS, so i dont know if it is an app of the system, i dont really know, but i want to fix this problem.

Wipe and reflash and do not install any apps. Verify if the problem is a app or not. Also do not run widgets or anything else, basically run it as close to stock as you can.

To be honest i wouldn't know. I don't like AOSP roms on the Galaxy S phones. To be honest haven't been on CM7 since nightly was 2.3.3 (been a while). But from my experience Native roms work better for longer periods of times. But I9000 ports work well enough. I also like Audience chip support.

I believe it is, but your kernel might have to change. I do know both CM7 and MIUI have a few kernels to chose from, some might be limited to a specific bootloader. Again I could be wrong.

Hi all anyone else noticed that the 4.2 update seems to make the N7 worse not better compared to 4.1.2. To me it feels like a step back compared to the speed of Jelly Bean 4.1. It's like project Butter never happened to my device
I've seen a few scattered reports wondering if everyone is seeing this, for instance start up NFS:MW then switch to say Gmail or any other app, the entire thing starts to crawl for me. Problem wasn't present in 4.1.2
Considering reflashing but cant see that making a massive difference I did a full wipe before upgrading.
Thoughts all?
I am still on 4.1 with paranoid..will wait about a few weeks to read how is working..i am happy with curent setup so dont see to rush something "unknown" ..and i see that Bluetooth native tethering does not work which i use for connecting with my phone internet.

What made you think loading the factory image was the correct thing to do? Surely letting the device deal with it is the best route...

AHH now then, I've got 2 additional user accounts setup, 3 in total.. Could that be the issue, android is monitoring these other accounts even when not in use. I have two accounts with full access and another account sat at welcome.
Anyone else confirm that if you have multiple user accounts the N7 becomes sluggish switching apps?

I'll go out on a sturdy limb here and say.. Because it's the factory image provided by manufacture of the OS? That would seem like a right thing to do huh? Just like when you want to start fresh with Windows you wipe your drive and install via the factory image (DVD in Windows case).. It's 100% of the time a sure fire method the installation you have is the installation the manufacture intended.. Sometimes updates don't turn out all peachy and full of rainbows like they are intended to be.. So, some people take this into consideration and opt for a fresh install instead.

And there is nothing wrong with that. I agree with you.. 4.2 is a step backwards in Android development by a lot.. 4.2 spent 30 entire minutes on my device before I re-partitioned it back to a 4.1.2 file system (getting rid of the user account folder tree) and put 4.1.2 back on it and it'll stay that way until development catches up.

yup i like playing NS:MW and last night after the update the game slowed and stuttered like i was playing resident evil 4 on windows 95.
i think everyone soon will stop making ways to get to 4.2 and start concentrating on a guide for reverting back to 4.1 lmao
4.2 things i dont think i like:
the "edit" look lockscreen with 1 clock number bigger
the effects on games
no otg usb yet
the double notications windows
the update stole my working video cam effects and added a non-working photo-sphere mode....great

Agreed it does feel a bit slower. Opening apps and transitions don't feel as smooth as 4.1

Yeah it is a bit slower, no doubt. It's not just you. Hopefully 4.2.1 brings back the speed.

4.2 certainly "feels" slower to me. The transition on the running apps seems different but I can't tell if it has been updated or is just happening fractionally slower so I'm noticing the transition more. I notice that you get the screenshot and then fractionally later the icon slides in from the left. Has this always happened?
Certainly when tapping the power button to turn off the screen it seems to fade slower and the click noise happens fractionally later than I would expect, which suggests it is just a performance issue.
I have added one new user profile account which I suspect is part of the issue. Pretty happy with the update but roll on 4.2.1

It is definitely slower while the screen is turning off. I suspect adding another user has got something to do with the performance degradation. I really hope 4.2.1 solves these issues.
I've noticed my phone only charging at around 70mah when simply on the home screen (charges very fast when screen is off/sleep, 800+mah). I am using battery monitor widget to see the current draw. Using battery doctor, it tells me Maps is using 99% of the battery being consumed, even after testing it out playing Temple Run 2 for 20 minutes on max screen brightness. Is anyone else having this issue? Any known solutions? I even tried disabling GPS and latitude.

Go into settings/location and turn off GPS and location and search.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I have tried that. But I would like to use my GPS as it has a lot of uses with applications. That still doesn't explain having such a high current draw enough to only charge at only 70mah even while in use. Any phone should be able to charge significantly faster than the battery drains (aside from USB charging). Something is putting a ton of unwanted load on while the phone is not sleeping. The phone sleeps VERY well in the sense of conserving power (-10mAh)
Can someone download battery doctor and see if Maps is also very high on their list? It could also be a false reading on the apps end. I'm looking at my phone right now on max brightness and it shows it's discharging at -304mAh, which is acceptable. I'm more concerned about the charging rate being horrible while the phone is awake. Something might be really making the processor do unnecessary work.
I have the same percentage for maps as well....
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I use GSAM. I used to have issues with maps doing that, and forgot how I fixed it. I wish they would make Google maps not suck. So many freaking wakelocks.
Edit: make sure you turn off that location sharing friend crap, check in notification and auto check in.

It's kind of sad that they took "Screen" out of the list of power consuming things as that is truly the most common power consuming factor. I'm really not impressed with this release of Sense. I WANT MORE PANELS!! lol I went from 7 panels from the Evo 3D to 5 panels including blinkfeed which I don't use. Sooo lamee
Anyway, the phone is new so I'm sure there will be updates fixing a ton of issues since they kind of rushed the release after the initial delay. I'm betting a bunch of issues escaped unfixed because of that. Would anyone suggest a ROM to potentially fix my issue and improve everything as a whole?

That app is stock sense. Settings > power > usage. I would say definitely ROM it. More customization possibilities and it will only get better. The ROMs that are out now are completely stable and mildly tweaked compared to what they will be in a month or so. Also I had slow charging for my first few cycles and it seems to have gotten much better. At least on par with my wife's evo lte.

I'm leaning towards the Viper ROM. Any other suggestions or possibly better ROMs?
I believe everything gets wiped when the ROM is flashed, correct? I already have TWRP installed.
The generic answer is to try a few different ones and see what works best for you. For me, I'm using viper as my daily. But who knows what I'll be using tomorrow.... I'm a flashaholic. There's a superwipe posted in these forums that will wipe everything for you but in essence it formats system, data, cache, and dalvik. Any time you jump to a different ROM you will want to wipe everything. Keep in mind a factory reset is not the same thing as a full wipe as it does not wipe system files.

So every time you flash another ROM, what do you do to recover all your data, apps, game progress, etc.
I just made a backup of everything with my stock ROM using TWRP.
Personally I use titanium backup.... But it can cause issues as can any app that transfers data between ROMs. you can actually import data from your nandroid by using titanium.... Or just restore the data partition from your nandroid from within twrp. No matter what you may run into issues and if that's the case just start over for the best results.
I apologize ahead of time if this makes no sense.... Exhaustion at work is setting in.

Android system at 2% Damn. Mine is always top 5. Currently 14% right now...
Running the last version of temaseks cm7 kang along with a cutom kernel Neok UltimateS Kernel v3.9Ti. lately ive been trying to maximize the ROM space and reduce the size of the system partition to have more room for apps and avoid using A2SD (which creates more performance problems than I need now). as a result i think this has started causing me to get random applications to force close and random reboots when idle or trying to do to many things at once.
I picked up an N1 for my daughter to use and have experienced random reboots since the get go starting with the stock setup (1 month ago). Since then I've flashed a few different Roms, read through various posts related to the random reboot issue which seems to plague this phone and nothing tried seems to make a difference as yet. Everything from flashing a different kernel to radio has been suggested and I may venture there next. One thing I can say, despite the teen being disappointed and dad (me) having to constantly mess with it, it's a hard phone to brick (ha).
Yeah I've had my phone since launch so I think my issue might be related to wear of. Instantly flashing and repartitioning the nand
If you can grab a logcat of the reboot then you have a much better change diagnosing the problem, without this there will just be guesses

I just rooted my tablet using instructions from several sources here, and have a bit of a problem. I rooted it because of a slightly annoying problem with the touch screen. It worked great 90% of the time, but occasionally I would have to tap an icon a few times for the screen to respond. I have not installed any Rom on it as I decided to keep it stock for the time being. That could change real quick though!! After I rooted it, the problem has increased. I did install several tweaking apps on it (Enterprise ram and digitizer booster, Optimus Root Memory Optimizer, and Entrophy Fixer) and a few games that I had on it before. Removing the digitizer app did no good. The odd thing about it is, I do not notice the touch screen issue if I am playing a game, only when I touch the application icons or links. There does not appear to be any app available to calibrate the screen. Has anybody else had this issue with the 701? Thanks for any help you can provide!!

i have tried just about all the available Roms for the tf701, currently using the new CM12 which runs very well, make sure you do a full wipe/format before hand though, try this app, also worked for me, the one on the OP page

I may end up trying CM12. I am also getting an error at boot up , "the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" . It does not seem to be causing any problems, but it is annoying nevertheless. Also, this rom is nice, but I see no performance difference between it and stock. I tried that calibration app you linked to, but it does not seem to have done anything. Thanks!

i have tried just about all the available Roms for the tf701, currently using the new CM12 which runs very well, make sure you do a full wipe/format before hand though, try this app, also worked for me, the one on the OP page

I may actually wait on this after reading the blog. Is there anything that is not working on this at this time? I do not have the dock, so the one limitation listed would not affect me. Would the performance of this rom be better than the Cromix I have on it now?

I doubt it, but doesn't hurt to try. CM12 is in beta though. CROMi-X 7.1 was just released. The "xxx process has stopped" is a bug that will be ironed out soon. You did clean install the rom, did you?
But if you have the same problem on different roms it's unlikely that your touch problem is software related.
To rule out a software problem you should format data and reflash the rom. Format, not just wipe. Which will delete all data on your tablet.
Also try with the microSD out. Bad cards can cause all kinds of weird problems.

Thank you for your response. I was able to fix the process error, but I still ended up putting CM12 on it anyhow! It took me all of 10 minutes and I have had no problems so far. It is very smooth and fast. I did a wipe/format, and a dalvik wipe before I put CM12 on it using CM 6.0.5.1 (I think that is the correct version). Not sure I did that correctly though, since my download folder on the tablet was still intact afterwards. My LCD problem is more than likely hardware, but it is more of an annoyance than anything. It only affects opening up apps. The screen works great in games and just typing.
