Google Play needs 4 apps to b run in
Background that consumes about 20MB of
RAM usage
Does any one got a method or tips to reduce this usage?
Leave ur phone for that...dump android thats impossible

Delete your software update apks. Those are Samsung bloat.
will that update .apks effects, the apps that are to be updated in future?
If you delete the apk's then you wont be able to perform an OTA update (as with deleting any system apps)
Don't be to bothered by app using ram, as long as your not running out it doesn't matter.
Free ram is wasted ram

My galaxy s uses 273 MB out 326 MB when no user applications are running. I have not killed any default running services.
Is this memory usage normal?
Yep, this is pretty much normal - give or take 20mb or so. Android isn't like windows with how it deals with "closed" applications
Instead of closing and free all the memory an app uses when you close it stupid it to an idle state, just in case you want to reopen it in a short time.
There are also a number of processes that are always running like mail, gmail, clock, calendar that are using your ram.

Thanks for the reply
i encountered a problem that my phone always have low ram even if i just started the phone and have not open any apps. the ram always used up above 200mb out of 304mb. and y is it the overall ram is 304mb instead of 512mb which is stated in the specs of sgs
Hi,
You need to have a look at applications and services.
Check what you running (for example livewallpaper is between 11-20MB, every widget using memory as well) it is the same with services, some of them are useless some of them are not.
From my experience 2.3.3 (without any super modding) using something like 100-120MB. I can tell you that with 3 email accounts (including exchange) and some widget my SGS have free 146MB.
Is hard to say what is causing lack of memory on your phone without knowing what is on it.
Regards,
R
I usually find that lack of ram is from apps running in the background.
I'd suggest getting TaskKiller or ZDBox to kill apps running in the background easily.
Aparently don't quote me I only ready this that the ram is on a flush when needed system I thought ram useage was high try playing game or browse net then kill them and check I found it dropped on jvk jva and now jvh not used jvb gave it a miss

Like its been said in many post the only way to stop this is to root you phone and use an app like titanium pro to freeze the apps you don't use there will always be some thing running in the background that's androids way of pre loading apps so they run faster when you call the app to run. Wile apps are in ram there not using cpu cycles or battery only when the phone pre loads these apps dose it use a small amount of cpu cycles.
I have installed dozens of apps on my Galaxy Ace and I think it's becoming too much for the poor device. I found out it frequently reboots because of RAM shortage. I tried killing all running apps, but all the memory-hogging services will just restart themselves, which also drains my battery.
So, is there a way to permanently disable Android services, other than to remove the corresponding apps? I don't need Google Maps running in the background (I don't care for tile caching), nor do I need Google Play to check for updates, yet they are active all the time and consume ~25MB of RAM, which makes the difference between freezing and a snappy phone.
Disable/force stop the apps that you do not use from the manage apps option in settings. If you are rooted, use titanium backup to get rid of apps that you don't use. Remember, do not disable any android system service unless you know what it is. You might get into trouble.

Try this...
Use RAM managers, decrease VM heap size and remove JIT also use root startup managers to avoid apps from starting automatically other then system apps.
try autorun manager..
disable useless apps which constantly runs on background and auto starts after killing.
best one so far..
Hello guys, why is RAM usage is very high on our Moto. The firmware is set to be close to AOSP but with no apps running in the background it consumes around 550+ mb. everyone facing it ?

My thoughts exactly. I think its because of some of the built-in apps ie gmail, email, chrome, google play books, games and motorola's own apps etc . These stock apps cant be deleted without rooting, which is what I'am waiting for in moto G.
My previous xperia c phone too had very high ram usage initially, until I deleted the apps . After removing, I always had 550 or 500 MB free ram no matter what I did. And it was running on 4.2
Yes.. I have installed some apps. If I root it then we may get more free ram...

Have you tried deleting some of motorola's stock apps ?? Or if you dont need push emails, why dont you try deleting emails, gmails, google+, google drive etc ?
catch my drift?
why are you using task manager? Try seeing the ram usage in running apps in ''Apps'' section
nice
nice information has been useful to have been.
