Please help
I install mango (XBmod_Yuki ROM) on HTC HD2 and unlocked with ChevronWP7 (now saying relock)
I then install Touch Explorer tru XAP
when i start touch explorer i see only my device label i do not see any other folder or file
i need to copy CustClear.provxml from Ringtones folder.
Is it possible that phone still is locked
Use cab file for unlock not Chevron. If not work you need full unlocked ROM

Touch Explorer does not work on bttf yuki rom due to the rom having current mango drivers. you can revert back to old drivers to use this. read the companion xbmod/yuki sp1 thread.

Hello -
When using newromupdateutility_wizard_noid to install any ROM I get a Windows GPF and haven't been able to get around it. When I install one of the other ROM's that are compiled into an exe file they work fine.
Is there any way for me to install the ROM from the storage card without involving Windows? Anybody know if I can convert the ROM files into an installable exe format?
Thanks
Edit/Delete Message
Anybody? Didn't there used to be a way to flash rom from a storage card???
Thanks
"When I install one of the other ROM's that are compiled into an exe file they work fine." That's actually using the ROM Update Utility behind your back. Try this -- Start, Run, type %temp% and hit enter. Note that an explorer window comes up. Now run one of the ROMs compiled into an exe file -- don't do anything with it just run it and watch that explorer window. You'll see a new subdirectory get created. Copy that new directory to your desktop or wherever and quit the ROM update utility. Inside you'll find all the files you normally do in a ZIP or RAR ROM update including a new ROM Update Utility that you can TRY to use.

This appears to have worked! You're a genius. Thanks very much for the help!
Greg.
Can someone please answer the most basic of N00B questions ...
1) How do I install .EXE files onto the Tilt
2) How do I install .CAB files onto the Tilt
Specifically, with # 1, I am trying to install KaiserTweak, but it does not run under Windows XP and there is no info on how to get it onto the phone and how to install it (it has an XML too).
Thanks!
copy them over to your kaiser. run them by clicking on them using file explorer
Ummm ... N00bier
Thanks, but HOW?
I have activesync running, and it is doing a bang up job. I cannot figure out how to get the EXE and XML over onto the phone.
Also, how would a CAB work, same way?
OMG!
cab - copy to phone and run through file explorer
exe - run through pc/ or run directly from the device
to copy files over to your PPC...
click the explore button on your activesync app running on your desktop from there you can drag and drop the files anywhere
I drag and drop .cabs to my storage card, I have a cab folder with two folders inside one is device and one is card. It is an easy backup and reminds me of where i installed that particular cab. Now, if you have an .exe or .msi you can run that from your desktop and as long as you are synced the install wizard will install the app to your phone giving you the option to install it on the device or the card.
Now, some applications are meant to be ran from your phone, such as mplayer or Kaiser Tweaks. You copy the file over to your device and click the .exe when you want to run the program.
Hope this helps!
hi all
I'm sorry for asking this questions but i did a search and could not find any answer...
i have a Tytn 2 and I'm new to all this wm6 os, I've been trying to install SCLPC___0-04__WM05___WM06_ but i haven't been able to
could anyone please tell me how to install CAB files ?
thanks in advance
and sorry about the question
H
Cab files are relatively easy to install. Using an Activesync connection, hit Explore on the Activesync window and that will open up a window of your device. Click on MyWindowsMobile Device (or something like that). This is a view of the 'root' directory on your device.
Copy (drag and drop is easiest) from the desktop location to the window showing the 'root' of your device. Now, the CAB should be on your TyTN II.
(You can disconnect the Activesync connection now, if you want).
On the TyTN II, open up File Explorer and go to the root directory of your device (normally, this is the one it opens up on.).
Locate the CAB file you copied over, then double-tap it to execute it. Then follow any directions given. That's it!
/drt
Ok, use file explorer. Select the cab and run it.

Both your question and the answers were clear enough.
Once you have copied the cab onto your device, use the built in File explorer on the TyTN2 to find the cab file. Then just double click on it, the same as you would to open a Word file for example. Then just follow any on-screen instructions/requests. Simple as....

also rename the bootanimation to what yours is named either ATT_bootanimation.zip or bootanimation.zip
Here is how I did it.
1. Download the .zip to your desktop and rename this file to the file that your device uses. (I use ATT, so I navigated to system, customize, resource, and that's where I saw my boot animation and it was, ATT_bootanimation.zip
2. Mount the disk so you can open the external sd drive on your computer
3. Moved the .zip file from the desktop to the external sd drive
4. I use Rom Toolbox, but use a root explorer and copy the bootanimation zip file from your external sd card, to your devices bootanimation file, It will ask if you want to overwrite or keep both files, but you MUST overwrite. Reboot phone and it should work. If that doesn't then try and install it from your recovery and you might have to delete the cache, but try that.
I do recommend backing up the phone and the current rom though...Just incase
Is there a specific place to go where i can download different boot animations for the vivid as well as preview them before downloading?
There are boot animation threads...
Trial and error as far as what works...
Our screen is 960x540
Anything smaller COULD work

You can always try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540&highlight=sense
You have to download them first but it lets you see what it will look like.
Don't overwrite your ATT_bootanimation.zip file just rename it ATT_bootanimation.bak (or just bootanimation.bak if your original bootanimation file is named just bootanimation). This way if you can't get it to work then you can delete the file that dosen't work and go back to your original file by putting the .zip back.
Try install boot animation factory
HTC VIVID 4.0.4 SENSE 4.1
I'd love to try Annimation Factory but it requires Win SP3. I only have/use the laptop my company gives me and they control what SP are installed with an iron fist and we are only on SP1. I really need to build a new box. I"m still working on doing it the old fashion way as discribed in the OP's document.
EDIT - FYI - I installed Annimation Factory and it works just fine on SP1. One thing that I have noticed every time I open it it prompts me there is a new version even when turning off the check for updates in settings. When I try to download the new version it gives a downloader error. I don't think this is related to SP1. The AF version I have works good though. I'll go and get the new version manually.
I am looking for a rom zip file for a T-mobile HTC desire 626s. All I keep finding are the ruu's. I need a zip file so I can install OS via TWRP. Anyone know where I an find and download one, really need as soon as possible.
Flashing without RUU
First, download the RUU and run the .exe up until it prompts you to begin the install to the phone. Don't do that.
Go to Windows Explorer and in the address bar put "%temp%" and find "rom.zip"
Rename it "0PM9IMG.zip" and put it in the root directory of your external SD and from here you can do whatever you want. I used the bootloader to install it rather than TWRP.
Thanks
