Help With device - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Stock DDKQ8
Im having problems with Link2SD.
I have a EXT-4 Format partioned on my sd card, But when i recreate Mount scripts to EXT4 It will reboot and say mount warning?
So basically its telling me that it cant be read at boot.. Whats the problem?
Ive basicly Switched to Custom Roms to stock roms and still countering the same problem.
The script file "05mountsd" Does not exist neither.
I have flashed every rom with CF-Root B84
With a ext partion on my sd card (EXT4)
Tried to Creat Mount scripts and still counter the Mount Warning.
What is the problem seriously?
Ive deleted the partions on my sd card over and over to make it work but still failing.

Bump Please?

[DEV] Voodoo expert. RFS to EXT4 conversion. HELP!

Hi all... Here there're many dev so maybe i'm so lucky to find someone that can help me....
I'm going to convert my phone's partition to ext4 but i have problem with /data. This because the phone has 4 gb of internal memory that Samsung push under /dev/block/mmcblk0. This memory is partitioned in three part /dev/block/mmcblkop1 (internal SD) /dev/block/mmcblkop3 (/data) and /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (empty).
How can i format /data into ext4? I tryed different way but the phone doesn't boot. What is the correct way to make it?

I did google it myself and the link brought me here to read your snide response. I grow weary of the attitudes from people like you on this site.

Yes,you can. After that you can use S2E or Link2SD to config SD-ext.I gess you flash New Experience rom 9.9.1,it already has S2E and very smooth.
it's strange:
I use last CWRM 6.0.2.7 for mini by dany
but when I partition SD
I get ext 3 partition
how to get an ext 4 partition?
thanks

thanks... I tried to use it before and it creates a right ext 4 partition, but the rom (lenio rom v4) does not recognize the partition
I tried to label the partition "sd-ext" or with no label
but in both modes it does not work
incredible... I did the ext4 by minitool but the a2sd on lenio v4 does not recognize the sd-ext
update:
created ext4 by minitool partition wizard, but it seems that phone can't recognize it, coz the rom does not see the partition
is there something to do to make the phone create/see ext4 partitions?
tried the last attempt, with another CWM (5.0.2.8 touch ext)
I partitioned the SD, choosing ext4, but when I control, it's ext3
why that???
Some possible problems,

maybe the CWM failed to format it with ext4 file system,
or the ROM you use failed to identify ext4 file system, some guys told me there are ROMs that don't support the ex4 yet, you may want to read your ROM specification,
or somehow the ROM need additional script to read ext4 file system properly,
recently I've tried more than 10 times partitioning my SD cards, but most of it failed in attempts,
it won't be mounted as second partition, therefore I can't use Link 2 SD properly,
My ROM is PAC 22.1.0
I've tried partition tools: Minitool, CWM 5, AParted (SDCARD Partiton Tool) app, checked the partition table with Partition Table app, trying to mount second partiton manually with Android Terminal Emulator (using "mount" command), success using CWM.
I've tried ext2, ext3, ext4 partitions, but success only with FAT32 file system,
I think in the process I've delete some media in /system partition, maybe it creates problem since Link 2 SD need to modify some files in /system partition to mount the second partition,
I tried with Lenio vQuattro, partitioning with minitool, the sd-ext was correctly partitioned as ext4, but the phone did not saw the sd-ext. The rom is done to use only ext4.
So I went back to the most recent cm 10.1 (with ext3 and int2ext+) because this is my only phone and I need it to phone
Better use mini tool partition wizard..
You can choose the type of part, like ext2 ext3 or ext4..

[Q] Link2SD and any PC utils not reading SD-EXT Partition.

Hi all,
As the title says, I'm having a heck of time get anything to read the EXT partition on my SD card. Doesn't matter which ROM or which tool I use to format it nothing will pick up th EXT partition at all. I've tried the mini partiton tool on pc, CWM Recovery, and PX Recovery to format it and no joy. None of the a2sd scripts/utils (link2SD, s2e, Android Commander, MOBOROBO) will recognize the second partition or allow me to use it. Do I need to mount it through recovery manager or something? Any Ideas?

Normally you do not need to mount anything.
Just partition using CWM.
Strange.

[Help] Internal SD card failure

Well, I can say that I spent hours on hours trying to search for a solution with no luck,
The internal sd card of my Galaxy S GT-I9000 is corrupt.
I get E: format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 when im trying to format without sdcard inserted.
What I have managed to get after doing everything I can from my own knowlage and from the internet:
100% Working phone with ICS 4.0.3 only with 2 partitioned sd card(reiserfs and fat)
did everything in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31017954
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdMhYYdMB08
also flashed multi-csc firmware with pit(JVU/JVZ) after format everything(except /boot) through CWM with no luck.
main goal:
100% Working phone WITHOUT SD CARD
I thought maybe someone could tell me if this could be solved within software itself or only FLASH IC replacement?
got linux and windows systems so guides with commands involved wont be a problem.
THANK YOU!

stock rom and link2sd: can't mount ext4 partition

i have my ace running with a stock rom again since my wife is using it.
I have rooted the phone and flashed px recovery. After that, I wanted link2sd to mount the ext4 partition but whatever I try: nothing works.
when I try to mount ext 3 or ext 4 in link2sd I get this message: can't mount: no such device
when I try to mount ext2 I get this message: invalid argument
I have repartitioned and formatted both partitions already a dozen times. why can't link2sd mount this ext 4 partition?
i created the partitions using minitool partition wizard. After I placed the sd card back into my phone, I rebooted into px recovery, mount the sd-ext and formatted sd-ext, and after that, link2sd still gave the same errors.
How can I get Link2SD working?

I forgot that stock rom can't work with ext 4. Changing file system to ext2 worked for me and solved the problem (for now).

Are you sure Link2SD works well on stock rom? Because last time I checked it doesn't work well on roms without init.d support. I myself couldn't get it to work on stock rom. It crashed most of the time. Do post the result.
