Hey Guys
First of all, i want to say, you do great work with your roms, i love them
My question is, that after flashing to stock ruu, to official ics update, and then to total senseless v2 with hboot 1.28 and cwm version with touch, the wifi does not work.
It says activating wifi, but nothing happens
i hope you can help me, and i aplogize if this question has already been posted somewhere, i have searched for it, but has not been able to find anything useful
with regards
Thomas
I also have the exact same problem? Did you find any solution?
Did you try to flash this ROM over GB?
My phone has this crappy wifi issue with stock ICS too
both of you, try flashing the kernel that i have posted in my MIUI rom, in first topic, vertigo kernel, you just need to be s-off before you do it
Thanks, I downloaded the kernel and flashed it with CMW but the WIFI still doesn't work.
It just says on and doesn't even scan for networks (even manually)
Here is detailed software information of my handset:
ROM: ICSense 3.0
Kernel: vertigo 3.0.16
HBOOT: 1.28 S-OFF
The course which i took to reach here:
Stock GB -> OTA Stock ICS -> Factory Reset ICS -> S-OFF -> Flashed ICSense -> Flashed Vertigo
WIFI was only functional at the very first step. It didn't function even with the Official ICS!
PLEASE HELP ME I'M VERY DESPERATE NOW!
try another rom, you can try my MIUI rom, i know wifi works in that
Ok
Thanks again
Do you have any idea why official ROM doesn't work?
it should work if you did it that way you said. if wifi not working when using another rom, then try to take it from start point with RUU, find a guide to do that on the internet and then check if it works stock if it does , then great, if it not working then BAD
As I said it just works on Stock GB not Stock ICS!
I HATE HTC FOR THIS CRAP!!!!

Is this an invalid question? If it is, sorry, I didn't know.
I thought it was a valid and actually a really good question. I haven't heard of anyone trying it though. You can revert back to the stock GB rom but I don't think that's what you're asking.

yes, i wanted to revert back to one of the custom roms. Since i had to update HBoot to flash ICS, i didnt know if a GB rom was dependent on the HBoot version. Or will reverting back to stock GB rom thr only way to use custom GB roms again?

I would suggest using thecubed's method which he posted over in the development section. Direct link is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529669
safest way to do it I imagine would be to return to stock and then re flash a custom boot kernal and rom
OK, ill try to flash stock GB, then try to flash a custom Rom.
Hope it works out OK,
Thanks for your replies.
Just an update in case anyone was curious.
Flashed custom GB rom without reverting back to stock GB first and everything seems to be working fine. Phone booted with no problem and been playing with it for about 1 hour and no hiccups.
Been running HBOOT 1.85 from ICS with no issues with a GB Sense ROM for a few days now. Radio from ICS seems to be fine with the GB ROM also (don't seem to have any Ril issues).
That is good to know thanks for sharing.

Hi guys,
Just noting that although phone calls, GPS, data, and Wi-Fi don't seem to be an issue on a GB ROM using the ICS radio (3.02.4740.14_34.22.701040.19L), I do notice that the signal bars average 2 or 3 out of 5 in my area. When using an ICS ROM with the same radio, the average signal bars is around 4 or 5. As far as signal strength goes, I cannot tell the difference during usage. However, I do see that it shows less bars in GB versus that in ICS.

I've tried every 4.0.3 ROM for the Sensation XL but none of them has working 3G connectivity? How can i fix this, i've tried resetting the APN's adding new one using the Vodafone Settings but i can't get mobile internet.
When i flash a 2.3.5 rom i have working internet? Can someone tell me how i can get it fixed
Try a different kernell. One that supports ICS.
Else buy my SGS2...
Else go get ur N900 back!

1) there is no ICS kernel sources availible yet, so the current kernels are a mix of ICS & GB. Thats why things dont work.
Did you try manually inputing the APN?
2) please post ALL questions in Q&A. The development forum is for developers to release there work nothing else.

This data problem seems to be region specific and while we can't flash radios or ruu from different regions this will remain a problem. An eu radio and ril.dll would bring data to you but just not possible without s-off. See some of us here have donated blindly for s-off which may never happen. I live in hope it does. Hopefully we can start using new base Danny posted to build roms so fastboot boot.img might bring some joy.

Hey guys,
I've tried to install the new ICS radio but can't get it to work, tried the radio.img with fastboot flash radio radio.img but it gives me an error.
At this point there's only one ICS rom based on the EU OTA update that gives me working 3g but this ROM has Sense build in, i would prefer one without Sense.
Can someone tell me how i can get this to work?

to flash radio, hboot etc. you need make s-off your phone. Flash unprotected hboot from unlimited.io and than flash new radio.
It can be as simple problem, look at insanyly cool sense install instruction and flash a rom that way if you dont wipe dalwik and cache data will fail. I have had same problem

Agree with Ideal, I have my Velocity on Dark Raider ROM and it is solid. Only problems were Tethering stopped working, got it working as per the many posts about that, and Weather widget kept force closing. This only required cleaning out the Cache from the Weather provider and we're all good now.
Otherwise, you might want to go to this thread that has gone live a couple hours ago.

Roms : Stock HK ICS Sense 3.6 - deodexed rooted zipaligned

I had the same issue when i would reboot my phone it would revert back to the previous kernel and i would loose wifi ( no one has been able to tell me why ) maybe go into phone options and see if the same thing is happening with you? The way i fixed it was to run the ruu and then a custom rom but after that the next time you fastboot a kernel you will have the same problem? ( 2 different phones using different roms and kernel set ups had the same issue ) it would be awesome if someone knew the reason because its a pain in the ass having to run the ruu with every update!

Hi bls2009,
In regards to your questions:
1. I don't think there is such tool. If you had run the 4.0.3 update via OTA, your phone's HBOOT should had been upgraded to 1.28 and therefore, the "DoomLord V. xy" method won't work anymore.
2. At the moment, don't think you can

So yeah, my sxl is rooted and has recovery, but it won't start up. I think it means that there is no ROM installed? Correct me if I'm wrong. The main problem I have is that I can't mount my sdcard in recovery and therefore it won't let me install any roms. I learned from other forums that this might have something to do with ICS, if so, I thought that I should downgrade my Hboot but I can't find a method that works for me as all requires usb debugging? Which I cant access as I cant turn on the device...
Is there a way of solving my problem? If it has something to do with RUU, my CID is HTC_y13 and everytime I've tried installing a stock RUU i've only got problems during install (yes i have relocked bootloader). I have searched for this all over the internet but can't find a solution. Please help!
Thanks in advance!
BTW, i'm a newbee at these sort of things so keep that in mind
I had the same issue when I tried updating my hboot from 1.26 to 1.28
I basically had to follow the hboot process again and go back to the original hboot if you scroll through the android development thread you will find the musketeer rom with sense 4.0 go to the main page and i think its post 3 or 4 and you will see a process on how to change the hboot
read this step by step to go back to the original CWM and you will find after you upload the hboot back to original you will be able to go back into the recovery and you will see all your flashed roms again
hope this helps

Completely sure. Now it says 1.25.0004 and S-OFF after that downgrading to hboot thing, but I havn't been successfull in installing a stock rom yet, so I guess that those numbers are fake at the moment? I've tried installing a recovery for 1.25 but that doesn't work, however the ones for 1.28 work. So I think that i'm still on 1.28 (untill I've managed to install stock rom).
Have you upgraded your Hboot or did you get the OTA update (as I did)?
SOLVED!
I managed to find a working rom and have successfully reseted my phone to Hboot 1.25 instead of 1.28.
THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
Gonna try to put a custom rom on it now

I found a working stock HTC rom (I don't remember which one) that was compatible with my device. After the installation, my Hboot was 1.25 instead of 1.28 which allowed me to install another custom rom onto the phone via recovery (It didn't allow me with Hboot 1.28). So after that I simply installed another custom rom through recovery and since then the phone has been working great
To sum up, you need to find a working stock rom compatible to your device, which is very difficult... But just keep searching you will find it eventually
Hope this was of any help, ask if you have any more questions!
