True haha
@OP how is the galaxy S3? And what happened to your Incredible S?
The s3 is amazing! I love the battery life over the inc s and somehow touchwiz feels alot lighter then even sense 4.
The usb port in my inc s died, as well as the sd card slot so there was not much i could do with it anymore:/ if i could id still be flashing roms onto it just for fun!
I've gotta say though even though there are less devs in this section, the sense of community and teamwork here is far better then in the samsung forums
Nice to hear that, but it is probably due to a fact that youre still new on the Samsung section... Enjoy your new beast, I've tried it few days ago and I was delighted!

Good bye!
What are your reasons for the change? Until now I didn't find anything what I needed and my Inc S it couldn't. Repair would be too expensive?
yeah it wouldn't have been worth it to repair, if it still worked my plan was to keep it for another year.
The s3 is very noticeably faster though and the screen size is really nice, overall everything just feels alot better thought out on the s3 then the incs
I'm still in love with my IncS
An upgrade should be nice...
I will of course upgrade even though IncS is such a wonderful phone.
great choice with S3!!

try his ROM at time of this post go for v8.0 and upgrade to v8.1 no-wipe from there. Its more speedy than the stock samsung rom without any lag fixes.
Ofcourse there's no best rom, just find one that fits your needs
I'm thinking the bathroom.

I dont agree with u m8
this phone that u have is one of the finest in the world,,,, by buying it u joined a 10 million other people
there is nothing in ur previous phone exceeds this one. having said that, the gps sensor in this device is crap comparing with others. many intellectual devs tried to solve its issues, with no complete success (hardware issues),,,,other than this u can enjoy customising it completely
have a look on the devs section and c how many roms and devs has been developing are working on it.
I agree that the default os is laggy,,,, but this phone is blessed with plenty of devs.
if and only if the gps is better it could outsell the Ithing
with time, ull c that u made a nice choice

Yeah I know how many devs are working with it and I didn't mean "default" OS in any way. Seriously, popular roms these day (Doc's and Darky's) can't even beat CM-enabled phone like N1 or Desire in term of performance/smoothness.
But you're right, only time will tell.

He has also done some excellent work on the Nexus 1. He was the first to bring out a Sense Rom for it.

Yes!
Personally the LG 2X is the only interesting phone which is coming out now.
Galaxy S II -- too big
Desire S -- lol
Only the Motorola Atrix might be interesting as well, but the 2X seems to have better materials used.
With Paul on the phone, i'm sure the phone will get a great dev phone and a lot of custom roms.. (ok, i only hope..)
Just waiting for the first Gingerbread 2.3 ROM running on the 2X and i'll get one.
Good bye Desire (even it is one of the best phones i've ever had)
@Atomicman
i tested the sgs2 at the cebit few days ago and i was shocked how laggy this thing was.
maybe samsung will fix it until the official release but after that experience i'm 100% going with the optimus2x

Also thought long about that, and chose the O2X.
As you say:
SGS2 - too big
Desire S - with dual-core would be cool, but isn't
Atrix - locked bootloader is a shame
Just hope that community support will bring O2X long life!

Love this phone, kinda like a 2 dollar....well you know!
got the Vivid at lunch today, very nice phone.
since 2007 this is my 3rd smartphone. HTC Tilt, HTC Aria, and now the HTC Vivid.
see a theme? NO IPHONE!!
I was dual booting the tilt with windows mobile 6.5 and Android 2.1 before getting the Aria. I rooted the Aria and was loading the Cyanogen mod nightlies.
I can't wait to get this phone rooted and hopefully Cyanogen will pick it up too.
I bought a Vivid yesterday, and am liking it. It adds up to be my 6th HTC phone:
Cingular 8125
Cingular 8525
HTC HD2
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Inspire 4G
HTC Vivid
Looking forward to rooting & installing custom ROMs

Can't speak for CD, but the BinDroid team has already begun working on the ROM for Vivid. Once we get root we will test it out and then release to the forum. You can head over to the DHD or Inspire forums to see what BD looks like.
Im curious as to whether the Skyrocket or the Vivid will have more developement. Seems the Vivid is going slower than the skyrocket. Not a fan of the hardware for the vivid. Seems heavy and clunky. I think the skyrocket has a much better feel and touch to it.

I think, yes. But we don't have Sense 4.1 right now. But we will get it surely when we get a port from the new Desire X. But with the kernel from lost.prophet and the governor lionheart the ROM seems very smooth to me. It feels great, but try it yourself - it's all about taste
you should try the official pre-root rom, if the stability is your main key. I use the rooted official rom, sense 3.6 on ics. The speed is not bad but not so fast.
Because I use this phone for getting my job done and little chat with my friends. Next year I will flash the custom rom, when htc is no longer issue any updates for this phone.

The best ROM is the one that works best for your requirements on your phone.
Each ROM has certain features, some USPs and some shortcomings, but ALL ARE GOOD! Or else they wouldn't be showcased by the respective ROM developers (thank god htcphones has been banned).
So check each one out, try them in your daily usage pattern and then select one. Asking others what's good for me is like choosing a girlfriend/ partner and asking others to test and tell if she's OK!

Been running it for 2 days now. A poster in the thread mentioned phenomenal battery life. Unfortunately I don't see it. I am at 50% right now since the morning and I am a light user. I am coming from 2.3.5 which had a 3 day average use for me. Not happy with performance buy happy that I have ICS. If my provider didn't stop development I'd be still on 2.3.5 until stable release. Oh well.

I'm also using Nik Project X. Even though the ICS experience is so much better than GB, the battery life is not comparable. I could get at least 4 days with Nik Trinity XL. With Project X, I get 3 days roughly. I'm using the same settings I used to have with Trinity XL but battery performance could not match Project X. I'm still happy about the ICS's smoothness.

Auto-brightness, how often things sync with the internet, how good of an area are you in for signal reception. Even having your phone on silent will give you better battery life: if your constantly getting messages from whatsapp etc instead of playing a sound for message notification.
My phone will get to about 8pm with 70% battery, but then i talk to people on whatsapp and my battery goes down to about 10%.

Woahhh there don't get angry xD It's due to the age (most dev's want the newest and best phone) and also due to the fact that this phone just wasnt that popular...
If its not popular why is the HTC hd2 still getting development and that was launched waaaaay back. And how is this phone hard to dev for???

The phone is just full of shotty hacked up htc code. They just threw together a bit of everything to make it work, which kinda ruined it for everyone wanting to create custom non-sense based roms
Instead of posting multiple threads in here about why there aren't more ROMs, why not go talk to the makers of ROMs such as JellyBro and JellyBam to see if they will support our device, now that we're cm10 official. Or go create your own.
