[Q] Attention!!!Attention!!! need immediate help on how to odex... - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody!!!!
before anything i must say that i did search before posting but nothing i found.
OK. my question is how do i odex cyanogenmod (latest nightly) ??????!!!!!!
I'm trying to make/mod/edit/modify, whatever you call it guys, a custom rom of my own based on latest CM7-N-C. but it seems like too much space is occupied in data in a non-odexed rom :-( not enough space i have to install apps :'-(.
So...will somebody give me a clear tutorial please???!!!! you shall be appreciated and if i get to post it on xda I'll give you credits. cheers guys ;-)

Use titanium backup to integrate dalvik cache into rom!

You can odex apps using android kitchen.Learn how to use it from the android kitchen thread and, odexing rom is not going to help you because it actually increases the size by a small ratio.

A small correction bro...
Odexing apps cannot be done through Kitchen and Odexing apps provides more memory
These APKs or JARs contain certain .odex files whose supposed function is to save space. These ‘odex’ files are actually collections of parts of an application that are optimized before booting. Doing so speeds up the boot process, as it preloads part of an application (Ref: google )
and comin to the topic....
@OP: U need to downlaod the odex script to odex apps

Just use xUltimate. There is a tutorial for deodexing in the Ace forum and u can use somewhat similar method for odexing. Just choose odex option instead of deodex!

what does it do exactly?
Thanks,it seems to have improved scrolling, used it on zeus 5.03,no problems
What's the idea behind it? Is there hardware acceleration involved or just better code optimization?

All apps will have no problem with scrollingcache.
I've had scrolling improvements with facebook, playerpro, poweramp, gallery apps , etc.
The only scrolling improvement i need is browser scrolling... is it better with this .jar ?

Only "Opera Mobile" can do that i promise. Has hardware acceleration.
In zeus v5.0.3 weirdly some apps started force closing right after reboot (apps which i use all the time). Reverted back to my original framework and all is good again.
Scrolling improvement was also very minimal in my opinion..

Some apps became smoother but some became worse XD
My PowerAmp became more laggy by very little (it's not butter scrolling anymore, but still really smooth)
IO File Manager and Root Explorer seems to be scrolling at 120fps LOL
Anyway it's a great tweak! My Black now performs like a Dual-Core phone (smoothness-wise) haha

there is already a beats audio mod in Theme and apps here LINK here LINK and here LINK that last one has been removed for not giving acknowledgement for the real "dev" that discovered the mod.
the thing is you should post in the OP from where are you getting the mods, give acknowledge for the person/s that already did that mod... if not you are kanging, and that is against the rules.

[Q] Question about deodex

Hi guys! I have a quick question about deodexing. If I deodex a stock app (the ones that came with TouchWiz and require its framework), the will run on CM7 (in other words, it removes the tw-framework requirement)?
If not, how can I 'port' these apps, remove that firmware requirement?
Thanks!
No,it wont work,if i am understanding you correctly...
It will not work.

Trying to explain a little better: I want to remove the tw-framework dependency. If deodexing don't to this, what does? What I can do?
Decompile all apps, twframework and start editing smali and xml. It seems like quite a job, and I wish you the best of lucks.
Where to edit and which files exactly? No idea, have to look at the code and follow the references to twframework.

If I copy the twframework files to an Cyanogen system, it would work, then?

No. It aint that easy bro! Samsung has made it very very tough to port!
No one has been able to port whole twframework on XDA till now!

Well, I didn't meant to port the entire framework anyway. The only thing that keeps me from using CM all the time is the lack of some stock apps, and the ports I've found weren't good enough to my taste. (yes, I'm a d*ck when it comes to quality, it HAS to be perfect, otherwise it won't do)
I guess I'll just stay with the stock ROM. Thanks guys!

Plzz dont say search it on google

You have 2 options -
1.Re-flash ROM and wipe cache and dalvik cache.
2.Restore system from a backup you had done before odexing.

No matter he post in wrong place.
I suggest you use google, google is YOUR ANCESTOR before this site exist, before android OS as Now as you use.
And why you want deodex.
Search bar on toprightcorner might usefull, I use it many time before I ask.
Though i will answer your Question.
You may use Xultimate.
Or
You can use Kitchen (not UOT kitchen) for advance.

[Script] Low Memory Killer Values For GT-N7000 [26.5.2013]

most of jelly bean tw rom are lagging like hell,so i tried many values for memory killer on our beloved Note, those values gave the best results,u can flash it on any rom ,
i did nothing but testing ,so there may be better values but these is the best i found ,
just flash it via recovery ,

it's a script to change the memory kills values ,usually the system kill the older process when the memory almost full,
it's just to tell the system when to close process ,make more ram available ,at any time to run any application,it also change the values for empty process which usually eat the memory without any needs for them,
so it's just change the values when to kill process (ie end application)
I must say, the lag is not that annoying to me, but the launcher being start over when I close some apps ,it takes a lot time to load ,after flashing this this problem is gone, at least until now

to avoid this problem u can add a line to force keep launcher in memory ,but also for me the problem gone after flashed this,so i think things is good

I found these exact entries in some posts and especially in SuperCharger v6 scripts.
So I guess it would only be fair to credit the OP for these lines. They aren't yours and so do not belong to Development forum.

evan,
I am not happy with supercharger scripts. It lags more.
But your script was running fine initially but now again lags.
any way out of this lag /??
Minfree values in the script are 0, 2, 4, 7, 14, 15
Slot 3 which in this script is 4 will be android's task killer (low mem killer).
so after 3-4 hour of usage, phone will lag
Setting minfrees way to low makes your phone laggy after some time.
This is fine in Development. However, @OP, please add credits to respective developers as from what I've read, the script is written/based on work from a developer.
