Custom kernels help to give most out of our phone ie better battery performance etc as compared to stock kernel.
use minicm7 for good scrolling and battery.
unlocking BL helps u to install custom kernels...

Thanks button pressed...............

[Q] GingerXperia V22 , Call screen lag

Hi,
I am using W8 and using the custome ROM GingerXperia V22 which is beautiful and i really like it. Only thing i am having issue is the call screen lag, When i receive the call or call a contact, all i see is a black screen for couple of seconds. Any idea how to overcome this?
its because you use stock kernel+gingerxperia. same happens with stock+gingerdx
flash alfs06 kernel which i believe is compatible with both ROMS: gingerxperia and gingerdx
i have that problem to with v22 and stock kernel. is there an solution without a custom kernel cause i am afraid of unlocking the bootloader cause chance of simlock and brick
whats your phone date? if it is less than 11W29 and you know to read a few steps in english, you will be fine

Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Thanks, i'll flash primehd tomorrow as you wrote: "there is going to be v5.4 for all kernels, I will finish up my last checkings and upload the files tomorrow."
So i dont have to flash 5.3 today and 5.4 tomorrow
Just to be sure....i just have to boot into cwm, do a full wipe and install primehds53 (or tomorrow primehds54) and then reboot and let it boot into primehd?
I'm asking this because there is a hotfix file too and somewhere i read that i have to install google apps and i dont know if the hotfix file is ment or not?!
thanks in advance........i'm really looking forward to using primehd
Cheers...

[Q] advantages and disadvantages some ROM

i just want to ask
im noobs here and need some instruction
can you explain me advantages and disadvantages of this rom ?
- gingerDX
- MiniCM7
sorry maybe some of you can help
thanks
Avantages Gdx , fast smooth , and minicm , smooth stable for daily use
Sent from my E15i using XDA
GingerDx fast and smooth, but for me sucks cuz it works on top of Stock and Alfs-GDX kernel which means that my phones WiFi dont work very well.
MiniCm fast and smooth maybe GingerDx is a bit faster and smoother, but it works on top of nAa and Alfs-Cm7 kernel which means no problems with WiFi for me and i think its perfect for day to day use if its supercharged.
Hit thanx if i helped.
wifi doesnt matter for me thanks for your opinion
dont bother them gingerXperia is a very good rom and also gives a SE make over to ur phone.it is stable and good for daily use...
Hope this helps

each rom has its own advantages and disadvantages, the best depends on our own user experience
if u dont know on ur own which rom to use better stuck with stock rom or go ahead and test both rom on ur own. if one rom wins in one thing other fails in something..imo gdx is good...

(Q) couple of question

I have couple of question
1. how can i overclock my xperia x8 on stock 2.1
2. how can create android 2.3.7 rom without bootlouder
3. and whats the best rom for gaming for stock kernel
SRR for my bad English
So as to have android 2.3 you need to have recovery installed in your phone.(x recovery or CWM recovery).
Check youtube for detailed videos.
You can overclock on stock kernel via doixanh oc module.
Search forum for it.

answers:
1. use search button. search for overclock modules by doixanh. he has given the whole set of instructions.
2. create.....EET has made a guide for that too. use search button again. if you actually meant to say how to get 2.3.7 then open lucastan's thread

or
khartaras' thread

I've tried both FroyoPro and MiniCM6 as they're shipped. FroyoPro wouldn't run some games and it would choke on others.
And, maybe he can't unlock the bootloader due to hardware constraints (manufacturing date). If he can, he should... and it would be the end of the discussion.
I will update my thread on gaming in stock kernel since I've found that when installing around 20+ games, the performance advantage dissapears. So might as well upgrade to GingerBread. If you're going to maintain a low count, kuyaDROID is a good choice. The early miniCM7 might as well be a good choice depending in your choice of games, tho weirdly it doesn't behave well with some games. When the games start to pile up, you might actually want to stay with the latest (v29) GingerDX.
about bootlouder is it dangeres to unlock my xperia x8 it has 10w48 on back

Help Choosing Custom Rom

Hi, for the first time I'm planning to install a custom rom so infact I'm doing this only because of native app2sd support:fingers-crossed: but to be honest I want a full compatible custom rom which should support and run most applications from market and performance should be good just like the stock 2.1 if not better... and if possible then camera and all other major functions should be working in it without any bugs.
That's all I ask .. currently I'm thinking about :
cyanogenmod
GingerDX
GingerZaraki
but I don't know which one is better Don't really want to unlock bootloader / kernels unless really necessary..
Thanks in advance.

Unlocking bootloader & installing a custom kernel is highly recommended ( if u don't know how to unlock & required build date DON'T TRY IT)
Best rom for stock is Gingerdx (my opinion) very stable, smooth.
Camera, etc works fine & without bugs.
Native app2sd is also supported
