I have spent lots of time getting the .2233 leak set up exactly the way i like it. Is there anyway to save this, go back to the upgrade path, then restore the phone set up after the Verizon upgrade? Thanks in advance!

Yes you need to root your phone using the razer's edge and install titanium backup and you can back up all apps and data and restore it after the official update.. You can even save system data like text messages and wifi passwords.

Restoring system data with Titanium can be a problem. I've been able to restore the home screen, blue tooth pairings, and Contacts with no issues moving from one leak to the next. I had an issue trying to go further than that when moving from the 229 leak to the 230 leak, where my home and search keys stopped working. So just keep that in mind.
Back up your data in Titanium to be safe, then use SamuriHL's script that pushes the necessary image files to your phone to allow the .905 and ICS loads without overwriting any of your data. I used it a couple of days ago on a coworkers phone and it pushed him from 2231 to 230 with no data loss at all.
Thanks for the help. Not sure what I'd do without the help of people here!

Hey, I found this in another thread, credit goes to this guys for writing this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28221673&postcount=23
I was able to use this method to go from .2233 to .902, to .905, to .230 again without losing anything.

Hey, so I rooted my Bionic yesterday and everything went well. I started deleting the bloatware with Titanium Backup, then I realized I should ahve been just freezing them instead.
Should I unroot it and reset the phone? Will that bring all the bloatware back for me to freeze once I root it again?
Thanks!
You can purchase the TBH app and debloat and rebloat as needed.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Doesn't the TBH app just change your apks to have a bak extension? I don't think it will reinstall them if you deleted them, it will only undo the change. However, flashing the fxz will put them all back if you really need them.

Read the stickies in the dev forum. You will not get your files back without running the FXZ (new SBF) and resetting to factory new. Team Black Hat app will not doing anything to apps you deleted.
Does anyone have a backup of 6.893?
Typically I am very diligent, but somehow I forgot to make a backup of stock.
I have not switched to any other update. I have read through everything thoroughly and I apologize for failing to follow instructions. With 5 android devices and multiple flashes I have never missed this before. And I realized it as soon as I flashed TH3ORYS rom
From what I gather the easiest and most effective way to get back on track is to flash a stock 6.893 rom make a backup and move on from there.
I appreciate anyone's help!
I am also open to using this thread or creating one in delopment to post the stock roms of every version.

Not entirely true. His system will be back to 5.5.886, but his kernel/radio will be his previously upgraded 5.6.893. He is off the upgrade path until he gets the matching system file of 5.6.893. Only then can he continue updating. I just went through this exact thing, used the one step recovery, but went back to .886 and had to beg to find someone to send me a CWR back up of their 5.6.893, which got me back on track.
Oh yeah...nevermind. I completely thought you were wanting stock not the ota. That's what I get for speed reading.

I'm afraid I dont, I got back to 5.6.893 then immediately upgraded to 5.7.893 and backed that up, since .6.893 was no good to me any more. I'm sorry.
Someone out there has to have this!
....I hope

Wont it fail because I'm not coming from stock? And if I go all the way back it wont work because ill end up with a hybrid?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I'm in the same situation. Yes, all attempts to upgrade fail because our sys filed don't match our radio. I need this nandroid as well.

Giving someone a backup made on your device or restoring a backup made on someone else's device is an extremely foolhardy proposition. You are cloning the Android_id from one device to the other, which means that apps that use it as an identifier will push and pull data from both devices without any intervention from the unknowingly affected user.
system img
correct me if im wrong but, all we need is the system img right because im stuck with a hybrid
Does anyone know if restoring my 5.893 back up will work, or create a hybrid? I ask because I think it is the same radios?

Check your pms and please don't share in case there is some of my data still left in the backup. just download all the files and put them in a folder and put in your clockwork backup folder on your sd/ext, probably the best way is to restore with advanced restore and just restore system only.

I'm in the same boat here too. I hope someone can find a way to fix it soon. I'd really appreciate a backup too, but I understand the concern about data.

I have really been through the ringer today. I started off this morning by noticing that I had no data at all. I was on 6.893 and TH3ORYROM 2.1 and have been for a few days with no trouble until today when I lost data. I tried everything to get it back, but nothing. I called VZW to make sure there wasn't a network problem in my area and they suggested that I try everything that I had already done (bat. pull, sim card re-register, turn off LTE radio, etc). When they couldn't fix anything, they wanted to transfer me to tier 2 tech support, but they apparently need to talk to me on a different phone so they can diagnose this one, but I didn't have access to another phone. So I decided I would try to flash one of the updates hoping it would reflash the radio file and wake it up. When I got home, I used the R3L3AS3DRoot to restore to stock and tried to install 7.893, but the update failed. I searched around and tried every method I could to get any of the updates to install, but nothing worked, still no 3g either. Eventually, in my desperate attempt to fix this myself I decided to wipe everything and start over. I wiped the webtop partition. I think that's what really screwed me up, because nothing else I did was any different that what I've done in the past. After wiping everything, I went back to the R3L3AS3DRoot and tried to run it. No matter which option I selected, it seemed to run fine, but I couldn't boot past the fastboot screen. I tried to fxz using RSD Lite, but every flash I tried failed. Then, in a panic, I came across P3's moto-fastboot method used to "get you back on the update path". I ran that and it freaking worked!! Then I figured I'd try to get up to 7.893, but I've tried absolutely everything I can find mention of and nothing works. Every install fails. I am getting some intermittent 3G now though. And to top it all off, I discovered that none of the nandroid backups I've made will restore and most of them don't even exist. I just discovered that I needed to check "use external storage" for the backups to take. I thought I had been covering my ass by making backups, but they weren't valid. Currently I have stock, rooted phone with an intermittent 3G signal. System Version 5.5.886, baseband CDMA_N_03.1C.57RLTEDC_U_05.15.02, kernel [email protected] #1, and build number 5.5.1_84_DBN-55. As I sit now, my plan is to see how it acts tomorrow and if I still have a lot of trouble with data, I will return it to stock unrooted and take it into a Verizon store and see if they will let me try a new SIM card. I don't really know what else to do at this point.
When I go to My Apps the screen is blank and white. I can still search for apps and access the app market the only thing verizon wanted me to do us a hard reset which I an not willing to do

try fixing permitions its not the update mine works fine
Go to applications and clear the data for the market app. It sounds like you have a permissions problem and hopefully that should fix it.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
cleared data and fixed permitions, still no my app in market. i went strait from 5.5.886 to 5.7.893. wonder if that had anything to do with it
Same issue here -
"Applications and games owned by this account will appear here"
5.7.893
I have a similar issue only the my apps page is just a black screen. I have fixed permissions, removed the market updater, cleared data and cache and even reinstalled the .apk. I can't figure this out to save my life!

For now you can use AppBrain to make sure you don't miss any app updates -- still annoying because you have to accept each one, but the only good way to check until this is sorted out.
i fixed my market isues with my apps not showing up. i did a factory reset and they now show up. i kept root and i am still on 5.7.893 and all is good thought i lost rorever root but just redownloaded the su app from the market.

How about just restoring your apps next time.
When you restore your settings and data, you are reloading your problems back in to the device.
If that doesn't work. Just restore one app at a time until you find the culprit.

So I rooted my Bionic.
Then installed titanium back up. And then backed everything up.
Then I committed the mistake in uninstalling some bloatware and then I read that some people are not getting updates due to deleting the apps and not freezing them.
I said...FUUUUUU there goes ICS!!!!
So I went back in, did a restore app+data and still some didn't come back.
I restored them manually and I thought...It's all good now.
But no.... I have crossed out in titanium back up the following two files.
com.android.music
No back up yet
and
com.pv.android.verzion.mod
No back up yet
I cant get them to "uncross".
Does anyone know anything of these two apps...and if so, Am I still screwed?
Thanks
If someone does not provide you with them, you can always just FXZ back to stock 902. I'm on ICS so I can't get them.

in order to root it, you have to start by unlocking your bootloader through htcdev. this wipes your phone, there's no way I know to get around it.
you could back up all your stuff first. Helium (carbon) is the only app I know of that can backup your app+data, sms, etc without root:

HTC Backup also does a surprisingly good job of backing everything up and restoring it after a reset.
I second the HTC Backup. Link it to Drive or Dropbox and let it do a full backup. When you are setting up the phone again, log back into HTC Backup and choose to restore a previous backup. It will re-install 98% of your apps and will restore lots of settings like wifi routers that you've saved and even restore your Sense homescreen, including widgets.
