Purpose
With all the rage around getting a Google+ invite, there is a small problem: Even with an invite, you might not be able to get into Google+ for several days. nibras_reeza and I have been working on a script that, once you've received an invite, will keep checking the signup page to see if you can sign up. YOU MUST HAVE AN INVITE FOR THIS SCRIPT TO BE USEFUL!
Features
* Automatically checks Google for when registration is open
* Displays a running total of refreshes
* Works in Chrome, Firefox, and IE (w/ Trixie)
Special Thanks
Nibras Reeza - motivated and helped me write this; running the notification form and general debugging
"_mousey" - fixed a caching issue, IE support, and debugging
"thrasher9" - "how many times have I pinged Google?"
Version
0.000005 - Fixing stupid merge issues (thanks Nibras and _mousey!) and merged _mousey's IE support (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15456658&postcount=201)
0.000004 - Merged changes from Nibras, _mousey, and thrasher9 into the main script
0.000001 - Initial
Instructions
READ THIS!
1. Install this script. For Chrome, simply download the file, drag it to Chrome, and authorize the install
2. Go to your Google+ invite, click on the "Join Google+" link
3. The script should take over--your browser will jump to the "Field Test" page. You can monitor this progress by pressing Ctrl-Shift-J to view the javascript console.
4. When registration "opens", the script will stop refreshing. You should see a form on the page asking for some info to sign up. DO THIS AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE!
5. Come back here and post about your success!
Note 1: Just because you see the sign-up form doesn't mean you'll get in. Therefore, it is pointless to leave this running overnight; even though you may see a sign-up form in the morning, chances are it won't work.
Note 2: If Google is not displaying in English, then you'll need to edit line 45. More info here (Thanks _mousey!) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15430390&postcount=161.
Note 3: If you want to run this in IE, use Trixie (Thanks _mousey!) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15425549&postcount=152
Implementation
(the boring stuff)
Original post: Link
Attached is a Greasemonkey script for Google Chrome (probably doesn't work for Firefox...). Install it in your browser, click the "view or comment" link in the invite you received. The script will find the "Join Google+" link, save the URL, then navigate to the page. If the page contains a DIV with "Field Trial", it will wait 5 seconds, then refresh. This should happen until either a) Invites work again, b) Google opens G+ to the world, or c) Google gets pissed at you and blocks your address.

I successfully used this script to sign up for Google+, and so have many other people.
Not necessary anymore. Use the version by Adam above. He integrated mine into his.
TIP for Android users:
(Some said this works but I can't make any guarantee. Worth a try.)
Apply for an invite in my form using a GMail account. Once you receive my invite, download Google+ from the Market(use Market Enabler or Root Toolbox and emulate a US carrier if you are outside US. You need ROOT.)
Now, sign into your GMail account on your phone. (Settings->Accounts and Sync->New Account->Google) Skip this if you submitted the account you already use on phone.
Open up Google+ on Android and sign in.
ONLY ONE PERSON HAS TO RUN THE SCRIPT. ANYONE CAN CHECK STATUS PUBLICLY.
SCRIPT UPDATED. USE THE NEW VERSION.
Here's a fork I made. This version logs available times publicly on a Google Docs Spreadsheet. I want someone who has a spare unused invite and has not registered to run it continuously.
And, I owe a lot for Adam to working so hard to write the script. He did all the hard work of digging into the code. xD I just made a fork. lol
Here's the public URL(TIME IS IN +0530GMT/+1030EST):
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...pUTOhdHdwLUZOTmlOWHNvbzR0M19iSTNzdmc&hl=en_GB
Just subscribe by notifications for changes made to the doc and you will be notified by email when registrations are open.

Exactly.
Think of it as a club: You're standing in line (G+ invite) waiting to get in. The bouncer finally decides to let a few people in (registration is open). You get lucky and he lets you in (success).
Damn! Wish I had my invite right now!
Are you still sending invites to the ones that registered to your spreadsheet?
Great work anyway!
Just another quick question which time zone is used for the times?

I did send an bulk invite a few minutes back. It's taking hours to go through.
The time on what? My spreadsheet which says when registrations are open? It's SLST(+0530GMT). I'll try to change it to EST.
Hello Nibras,
I installed the script and removed all cache and then clicked on the 'view or comment on Nibras's post'. It automatically navigated to the registration page but then never refreshed! or is it refreshing and I can't tell?
What do you mean by 'DIV with "Field Trial"'? How can I tell if the page contains it? sorry if this was a dumb question, but I don't understand it.
It's adam's script. Not mine. Don't bother about the div stuff. It just explains how the script works.
Just install the script on Chrome or Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey.
Click view or comment on nibras's post. Then the script will reload the signup page till Google allows signups. (Make sure you are signed into your Google account before you try all these.)
idk how to use this script? all it does is it blocks me from visiting the google plus website because it is killing my chrome with a lot of spamming a page which says: "available!" which will open many times until my chrome crashes
EDIT: damn my fault, i need to get the invite mail first! im sorry !

But it doesn't seem to refresh. Shouldn't I notice it refreshing every 5 secs.?
Open the Chrome JavaScript console, you should see a message every time it refreshes.

Not sure if I'm doing it right but I've been running it for an hour with no joy. I can see it refreshing but it always stays on Keep Me Posted
(This is with greasemonkey in firefox)
Anyone had any luck with the script? Seems like it should be exactly what I am looking for! (Thanks Adam!!)
The script worked for me. Thank you guys. ;-)

As long as it keeps refreshing your page, it is working. I would suggest moving the window off to the side and keep an eye on it. The right hand side of the page that tells you there is no room will switch to a log-in form whenever Google feels like it. The script itself doesn't make Google give you the invite any faster, it just makes you aware that you can sign-up within 5 seconds of it being available.
Mucho thanks, hopes I gets lucky now.

This is the console open for around 5 minutes with no msgs. I know its not refreshing, but I don't know why. I downloaded you zip file and extracted the JS file, then opened a blank chrome page and dragged the file into the blank page, it asked me if i want to install it and i clicked continue. When I go to extensions I can see G+ invited there. When I open the 'comment or view' link, it takes me to the post with the red button saying 'Join G+' and then automatically redirects me to the page attached, but it doesnt refresh.
Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: it worked now after pressing Ctrl+F5 several time. I think it was a problem of cache, although I have deleted all cache and cookies.
Anyway thank you Adam and Nibras. Will let it run overnight and see what happens

I'll let it run over night then and maybe there'll be a present for me in the morning!
Thanks again for the script, I figured someone would sort something automated in the end and am happy to have found it.
I have another concern, could it be that chances for US residents are better than non US? do you advise me to use a proxy, or it doesn't matter?
I don't have any facts to back this up, more of just some thoughts into how I might implement the invitation system:
Let's say you start the script before going to bed around midnight. The script runs for 2 hours, Google allows some people into the system, your browser stops refreshing because you have a sign-up form. Success, right? I don't think so. My guess is that Google is allowing a set number of people to sign up at defined intervals. Just because you see the form doesn't mean that you will be able to create an account, otherwise, we could just sniff the form post and duplicate it for every member that wants an account[1]. So, you wake up in the morning, seeing a sign-up form, frantically fill it out, only to discover that you were ~8 hours too slow and too many other people beat you to it.
My recommendation is that you only run the script when you are within arms-reach of your computer, as I'm not sure how much time you have between seeing the form and having it rejected.
Thinking more about what Nibras and I have discussed, since this is a beta, Google would want to control the amount of people in the system. Also, they would need to have many servers to handle all the traffic. It would be dumb to put all those servers in one location (US or UK), as the latency would kill the experience for anyone outside of that country. So, if Google has a bunch of servers spread across the globe, then they would probably want to try to encourage people around the world to sign up, instead of just having 99% of their testers from one country. This might explain why we are seeing invites being sent at odd times, and why people are being allowed to sign up at odd times.
Alternatively, they may be releasing ~1000 invites at a time, first come, first serve. And there's some dude staring at a bank of monitors, watching all the threads across the net (just like this one), giggling as we try to figure out what they're doing. And this dude, whenever he gets bored, he presses a button and lets a few more people into the system.
[1] If anyone is nerdy enough to sniff the traffic, I would be curious what it is submitting, just in case I'm wrong. In theory, we could create accounts for everyone, at least until Google patches the issue.
EDIT: Odds for US or non-US people? I don't really think it matters.
Let's get started!
What you're going to need!(IMPORTANT!)
1. SU
2. Busy Box
3. A Way To Side Load
4. Knowledge Of Permission Setting
& Root Permissions
5. Root Explorer
If you're familiar with setting permissions via. Root Explorer that's a plus!
I'm sorry, but as I don't get on the computer much. I can't provide permissions to set and I'll tell you the usual.
Everything here can be found with a simple Google search.
Are you a noob?
Well, I can tell you that this procedure is very easy and something easy to remember.
Google a search on; "What Permissions To Set On Root Explorer In System" or something among those lines, as we will need to install .apk's that way!
Assuming you understand what to do, let's figure out what player you'd like to use.
I, being one to have large libraries of music tend to use PlayerPro, I recommend Google Music/Google Play Music.
Let's pull more strings! Pull the app off the net or if you own the app, extract it onto a side load app you trust.
Once done, proceed to Root Explorer with knowing you have the app on the Ouya itself, once you see it use the Copy Paste method and place it in the System Apps(can be easily found from Main Directory), once you've established this, now is where permission settings come into play.
You should be able to remotely click the bottom "..." Using the D-Pad or the Touch Pad. This is where Copy And Paste should be.
If you've gotten through this and everything is set up proper, the next step is to reboot the console itself, do a full reboot to prevent any confusion and risk not seeing/having the player working.
If you've done this correctly, once you go to view your apps, you should see your app installed and ready to go.
NOTE: And yes, I mean note! Do not try this with the side load procedure and expect it to work, people have attempted this and either 1. See force closes, 2. The app is not loading, 3. The app is there but will not open and doesn't truly seem to be installed.
SIDE NOTE: This can be done with both ADB and my procedure.
If this was useful to you, I can only ask of a favor!

MODS This just clickbait SPAM BS.
The title is vague on purpose, and the thread is basically saying "Hey bro, if you want a music app on your Ouya, just sideload that ****! OH WOW!"
However, like dully79 said, the only main reason to use the official Google Music app is to use the Google Music service and stream your library from the cloud. However, this is impossible without Google Services, which is not present in the stock Ouya ROM and isn't in any 3rd party ROM out yet, either. So basically, you can't do what he says you can do by doing what he says to do.
This is clearly intended to get people to try and go to his stupid YouTube channel, which he links to at the end.
How about you get traffic and views by having good content on your channel, instead of polluting this forum with useless bull****?

Please be respectful of my threads.
No, I do not have my channel setup at the end to spam boards, it's just a simple thanks if you enjoyed my tutorial.
I don't intend to spam people, nor do I try and grab traffic.
I am simply trying to help others understand a method, if you disagree, I'd be more than happy to remove my channel link with a simple request, and also a request that you not bash my threads as I'm only here for assistance and spend my time happily making ROMs and doing other things.
I will not criticize you unless you doing do the same, it's disrespectful to me that you try and hurt my progress and tuts I post as users may not know how.
If I were simply begging for something I'd spend my time in General Forums where people generally go to do that sort of thing.
Lastly, if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say it and just avoid wasting your time coming through a place where people go to help, not get help with a channel.
I'm disappointed to know that someone would go as far as to make a whole post bashing on what I do to help the community, and I will have this brought to the mods and discussed with them in order to better our area without someone posting the same in all threads.
My last words are, thank you for those of you who actually know I try to help and who simply understand that if I were to spam you'd seed traffic from my post everywhere. I love you all, and appreciate you not going this far to bash me.

To leave my feedback on a clearer note. YES! Yes you can listen to music from a storage device as long as the device is read as a USB Mount! This has been confirmed by others in the official Ouya Forums!
Google Play Music is for cloud streaming. And for any other read device!

Oops, my bad man, all credit goes to you if I took your method.
People cry a out signatures, there's no need for one! I love my community and will stand up for it!
This thread was your fourth post on XDA, at least on that account.
It is not actually a Development post and contains basically nothing that anyone in the Dev section wouldn't already know ("Hey bro, if you want to put an app onto your system you can copy & paste it into /system/apps! This makes it a system app! Oh wow!")
Then you link to your YouTube channel and ask people to go to it.
All of these things together made you seem like a SPAMmer. If you're not, sorry about that, but your post is still in the wrong forum and doesn't actual contain useful or new information. The fact that a much better thread explaining how to do what you posted about exists (in the correct forum no less) is just icing on the cake.

Hello everyone,
I've had a Nexus 6 for about a month now and I'm running into this same problem, whether it be an email link or a link on Twitter:
I keep getting a "This webpage is not available... ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" page upon clicking various links.
This seems to be happening more and more lately. I know the odds of every single one of these links being down or broken are slim to none.
At first I thought it could be my AdAware software wreaking havoc on the link itself, and thus shutting me down from viewing it. But after uninstalling the AdAware, I'm still getting these down webpages. So that rules out the AdAware aspect.
I seem to get these A LOT on Twitter. Someone will post a link, whether it be a website, video, picture, etc..... and I click the link and I get this same message.
I should also mention I bought my Mom a 64GB unlocked Nexus 6 from Amazon (same place where I got mine), I unlocked it, rooted it and we're both running stock 5.0.1 for the time being, until I throw 5.1 stock on ours for the voice and data simultaneous capabilities.
Any help with this matter would be appreciated, as I'm at my witts end regarding why these damn links keep saying unavailable.
I should mention, the latest link was from a job site called ziprecruiter.com, care of monster.com job postings. She tried to open one of the job links in her GMail and it gives her the screenshot I posted. I tried every job link and the same result. However, when I open the job links via a web browser on my MacBook, each link works perfectly. I also included the details screenshot of the webpage.
Thanks everyone!
Anyone?
It's your modified hosts file. Reinstall adaware and use the restore hosts file option. If you want to keep using adaware, you can also add the sites being blocked to your white lists in adaware so that it will not add them to your hosts file. It's blocking referral and redirecting links most likely.

I tried doing what you said, but was unable to get it to work.
Any tips on this?
I'm still getting this same error page on my Nexus 6, as well as my Mom.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this to go away.
Her problem is with random emails from websites she shops at, such as fanatics.com
She'll open the email on her phone, click one of the sales items and that damn page shows up every time. I uninstalled Ad Away and rebooted, and it's still having the same problem.
If you or anyone else could PLEASE help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

Have you tried clearing the browsers cache in /settings/apps/ or clearing the cache in recovery, that may help. No problem for me to open this site, btw stock not rooted.

Thanks for the reply.
I FINALLY figured it out.
Had to reset the hosts file via the app and then reboot immediately. For some reason I didn't reboot before and the host files didn't go back to stock.
Even if you uninstall Ad Aware, the host files remain unchanged and thus the problem persists.
I reverted back to stock host files for now and the links are working.
I have to learn how to add sites to the whitelist in order to attain full functionality of Ad Aware.
That is very common with Twitter and the ad blocker as mentioned. I get it every time. But it is some safety feature seeing the modified hosts file. For me it isn't that it is blocked...just hitting refresh fixes it, every time for me.

Are you talking about refreshing via the Ad Away app itself, or the twitter link itself?
I can't get certain Twitter links to work, unless I shut off my Ad Away and go back to default host files.

I use Tweetcaster, which launches 'Readability' for its external links....It's a scaled down browser that ripps out ads and pics. I hit refresh in it and its good....or I can hit Readability's menu and open in browser and its good.
So that tells me Ad Away is blocking the original Twitter URL, then Readability refreshes using the real target URL. I will dig into this, should be any easy whitelist ro add.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I'll give Tweetcaster another try, it just wasn't as easy on the eyes for me vs regular Twitter app.
If I could only figure out this whitelist thing, I could put this all behind me.
I have my original host files in tact right now and and everything is working, but I'm not blocking ads.
I know this app has been discussed long ago but I can't find the reference, so I need to start another thread
I've installed this in the past because it really is so much easier than trying to search through the entire epub for something. But I was not able to download the version I wanted (was greyed out or something), couldn't find any old references, and so eventually deleted it. The version I am using is labeled 1288193153_Bible_2.4.1.apk
Now when I install it I get lots of server communication error messages and never any content. I also cannot see offline options. Always the server communication errors. Refresh does not help.
Does anyone know if this is dead for the NST/G now or am I just having a bad day?
Well, can you see the URL it's trying to reach? Does it still exist?
You can apktool it then grep for http.
Hello everyone!
So today something that could potentially let users flash/unbrick their phones using the current MSM Download tool came to my mind.
I'm also very sorry if this is the wrong place for this, i'm new to xda.
So as you might know for Realme phones there are people who have authorized account out there and once you pay them they will connect to yoprur computer and then start flashing ocess, online with no verification. I even tried getting my phone flashed but due to them not flashing twice if one package doesn't work my device was bricked (I have A.xx variant and i tried getting B.xx flashed) and i had to send to service center to wait for unbricking process which took over a month, yes you heard it right! They couldn't even repair it with software flashing so they had to replace the whole motherboard.... At least i'm grateful i didn't have to pay for motherboard replacement and it was considered in-warranty.
So yes, again let's go back to our topic and my idea.
What came to my mind is, what happens if i create a virtual machine using VMWare, get an authorized account to login to the application then cut connection of that TeamViewer connection and immediately "Save current state of VM" after someone logs in. Would that account be still logged in? This VM can also be shared with it's own folder as far as I know too! Is there a verification after you login to the app? As far as i know there's only a verification while you login to the app and there isn't anything afterwards which i think is also illogical to do so.
I know and i'm aware Realme can patch this possible "vulnerability" overnight because on the server side, literally everything depends on them (I really hope they don't) but thanks to their habit of not caring about development, releasing broken kernel sources and not even providing official bootloader unlock (even after nearly a year in my case) has come to a point where it's irresistably annoying for me so i decided to think of possible ways to maybe bypass the verification part of the application so that they can flash a firmware as their liking.
It's Android! It had to be free! It had to be allowed to do these type of stuffs to your Android phone! Why? Why? Why Realme?!
Edit: This is the exact same post of my post on Android General. After posting i saw there were nearly no replies and activity so i decided to post the same text as well.

...
5. Create a thread topic or post a message only once, this includes external links & streaming media.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer.
You can bump your unanswered question once every 24 hours
Duplicate threads and posts will be removed
Always post in an existing thread if a topic already exists, before creating a new thread.
Use our search function to find the best forum for your device.
Links to an external source are only allowed if relevant to the topic in hand. A description must be included, no copy & pasting from the original source.
Self-promotion is forbidden, this includes blogs, social media and video channels etc. Random links will be removed.
