Trying to use unlimited plan with Galaxy Tab!!!!

Hi guys any help would be appreciated!!! I would like to use my unlimited T-mobile plan on my Galaxy Tab to get internet is that possible!!! Another question how can I add the dialer to the Galaxy Tab??? Guys thanks for looking out!!!!
There are multiple threads devoted to this one.
Basically, TMO has put restrictions on the device to stop folks pulling the SIM from a phone and getting data directly without paying for an additional line.
But, the device can be converted to be a phone with 2G data, OR a 3G tablet with no voice.
There are mechanisms to swap between modes, but they need a re-boot each time.
There is currently no way to have phone and 3G at the same time.
Check the threads!

Overcome 1.63 Rom Modem Issue

Installed Overcome 1.6.3 and Kernal 2.1.6 to my TMOUSA TAB. I also Unlocked via RotoHammer Hex Edit fix. I put in a Canadian Telus SIM card but the phone always gets signal and but it shows its on Roaming and wont make a phone call with the App. Do I need to reflash a different modem file that is compatible with Canadian Networks? Thanks!!

follow the howto unlock phone calls guide under xda galaxy tab bible, and try flashing the (modem_bell_i9000) modem.bin provided. (works great for me under overcome 1.6.4).
And if you would like to return the favor... and if you have a 5ghz dual-band router, please read my XDA post about Galaxy Tab Wireless-N at 5ghz. I could really use some constructive feedback there.
I hate to tell you this but unless you switch to Wind, you are SOL with Telus as they use the same spectrum as Bell/ATT/Rogers etc. Wind is like TMO in the states.

So the Tmobile versions don't support the other bands? If that is the case, I didn't know that.
I think Mobilicity.ca works on the same (AWS?) frequency as WIND also though.

Maybe. I can't see them working on some other frequency that nobody else uses. Maybe phone their tech support and ask if a TMob phone will work? Good luck to you.

The only way to get voice on your t-mobile tab is to find the roto modem switcher thread, and flash the roto-2g modem from there. Don't bother with the switch set up, because you won't get 3g anyway.

[Q] Can I use a TMobile modem with an AT&T tab to get TMO 3G?

Title says it all. Got an ATT refurb but I have tzones with tmobile and would love to do better then edge. I would think that the hardware would be the same and all I need is just to use a TMO modem.
I would appreciate it if someone can tell me if this can be done.
Also, can I alter the IMEI so TMO will think that I have a different device? I currently have a Nokia that I use and I would love to "clone" it so I dont start getting charged for a tablet. I am only planning to connect the tab via 3G once in a while.
Sorry no, so many threads say only 2G+voice or 3G using rotohammers switcher
Attempting to alter imei is frowned upon.
Add some money promise to the bounty for a tmous 3G+voice modem to be cooked

I think that you missed my point, I am asking only about TMO 3G on ATT tab not for voice. And the devs that do this do this for fun, $1K will not get you someone for this type of a problem as I understand that this is very hard or not possible at this point with available modes out there.
Att uses different 3g frequencies than t-mobile. I don't think there is a way to change a tab's frequencies; this is an attribute of the hardware/radio.
It would be cool to do what you ask, but you can't.

[Q]Almost sure, just want to finalize it.

So far I like the tab, but voice+2G with absolutely no 3G, I am out of it.
ps: ATT user with Tmo Tab.
Now does any of you could confidently tell me that with ATT tab, I could have 2G+voice and 3G only by using ATT sim card? Cuz in that case I am gonna sell this one and buy a ATT tab and start all over again.
Thank you very much!

At&t tab with at&t sim card with voice plan and data plan means your tab will get calls and 3g data without any modem switching. It will be a giant android smartphone.
If you moved to Spain or Isreal, you could have that with your t-mobile tab.
Thank you cap! You are always helpful. I actually asked the ATT store clerk and got the answer that I can only get data but no voice by using GT, hence the question. Would you enlighten me? Thanks!
Right, a stock at&t tab doesn't have a dialer app, even though the hardware supports it.
So when you get the at&t tab, flash the gingerbread stocksafe v5 rom from team overcome, sim card in, check apn values, and . . .
. . . BOOM . . . voice calls and 3g data, no switch!

[Q] How do i Enable My Samsung Notes 3G/4G to work on Simple Mobile ?

Hey guys, i wanted to know is there a Mod or a method where i can Enable 3g/4g on my Samsung Note through Simple mobile? I only get Edge service under this company " Simple Mobile" which they state their service is powered through T-mobile Towers. Can anyone help ?
N7000 does not support TMobile 3G. Someone is working on it but no luck yet.
If you want TMobile 3G, move to an area where TMobile has started using the 1900 Mhz band for buy an ATT Note and do the hack. The N7000 uses a different radio chipset so moding the firmware from the Skyrocket will not work on the N7000. So don't even ask about using the ATT hack on the N7000. It's been mentioned by virtually every newbie, you will get flamed!
Try searching for Gophone or Straight talk for prepaid.
Hey man i appriciate the info and thanx for the heads up. I had no clue. Sucks that were not able to do this yet. Edge speed sucks lol but am happy am on this site full of people always willing to help and give out information. Thanx button hit

You could also consider switching to Straight Talk. I'm using it right now. Works great.
