The title sums it up, searched the forum but came empty handed.
Hey!
If you mean animated GIF images, I think it is possible, because a few days ago I opened one, they go pretty smooth, and obviously our Ace can open non-animated GIFs. Try out this animated GIF:

Not on the xda app.I don't know if there are any mods that enable it,but its not there as default

well of course it does, its not called a smart phone for nothing ;-)
The stock internet app seems to be the problem. Many people seem to have my same problem with the ace, so it seems my internet navigation app is out of date or something, oh well.
Installed opera but still no animated gifs, I guess I'm just doomed to live a gif-less life.

opera mini dose not open any flash content of gif animation embedded on the page, but opera dose.... (there are 2 versions of opera browser in the market).
I've never got any problems with Dolphin Browser... try it!
I think if you have a .GIF on the gallery, you can watch it. But if you watch a .GIF on the Internet, it doesn't move. Sorry for my bad english.

Just tried it out. It's really fast and smooth compared to froyo stock browser.

Could be the rom you're using. Works fine for me.
Been working just fine for me. Nice and zippy.
I loved Opera on Windows Mobile, but I'm sorry, I think it is crap on my Captivate. It renders pages incorrectly and is considerably slower than the default browser for me.
I don't have a problem with speed. The only frustration that I have with it so far is the fact I can't zoom it to screen width and pinch-zoom in when I'm where I want.
is it really any different from opera mini? i use mini and cannot see what would be the great offering to come from switching to the opera mobile.

For starters, you can actually get into opera:config, and also the bookmarks actually sync with Opera Link. On Opera Mini after I signed into Link, it never showed my bookmarks.

as the title says, the 2.3 browser seems to be lacking somewhat. Cant get any GIFs to work even with third party apps like opera and miren. (I like gifs, part of the shame of tumblr)
Is this just me? Is there something i'm missing?
and the stock browser only has four pages. Booo!

This stuff worked fine on froyo my girlfriends 3 year old I hone has no problem with GIF's.
Fyi opera does display gifs most of the time. Its a buggy browser though. I'm not a happy galaxy s owner atm.

I was think, maybe Flash Player is guilty, but from v10.2 to newest 10.3 version is same, not gif animation in any browser.
If someone will try, i really need animation from this site, but no work on Gingerbread, but on Froyo work:

Hi all,
Before the flaming starts, let me clarify. I love chrome. It's great. Tabbed browsing, chrome to phone and all. However, I enjoy using websites with either streaming content or video on demand. Unfortunately, it seems that Adobe isn't supporting Flash on android 4.0 and higher - and that's their prerogative. This does leave me with a void in my media consumption. Are there any browsers/codecs/something I don't know about which can help solve my internet video problem?
[For example, teamliquid.net]
thanks
Try the browser.apk for AOSP. Even supports flash if installed

Could care less if I get "flamed"....until chrome has a setting for desktop by default and displays full screen it sucks.
Many of the browsers don't work well on the Nexus 7.Aosp browser: can't access its menu (at least the apk I have, and the one on Paul Obriens Rom.
Boat browser (my alltime fav...will have an update soon...but it's not ready). Dolphin Lite seems to be ok..for now just not real quick.

Actually I've found that the Maxthon browser (built by XDA dudes)...works pretty well.
I side loaded the newest Firefox. Seems to work fine with flash.

I cant get Dolphin to work flash at all on my Nexus. I installed the flash apk floating around too, but nothing. Does yours work on putlocker? Did you update to the new version of Dolphin that came out yesterday (i think) that disables flash?
I have been using Xscope pro 7 with flash and it works perfect for me, also has a check box for displaying site in desktop mode and it doesnt reset every time you have to reboot.
I've been using xscope or about 3 years now and it download anything I throw at it, the newest iteration is design with the nexus 7 in mind.
Firefox works fine for me with good flash integration. Synched to all my other machines.

First, let me apologise in advance, this isn't directed at you personally, it is a general annoyance with the use of this term by Americans. Not that I have anything against Americans, I just have something against the usage of this phrase.
It really should be I could'NT care less. Small and trivial point, but for some reason, it properly boils my piss.

Using file explorer like ES File Explorer, just click on the file to install. It's ask you to change setting, allowing installation of apps from unknown source (if it's not already checked).

You can just google "firefox 14.0.1 apk" (14.0.1 is the latest version).
If you don't want to bother side loading, you can try Firefox Beta (Play Store link). It is compatible with N7 and installs directly from Play Store.

It isn't really an American thing, it's a "didn't read it before posting" thing. The phrase makes absolutely no sense. I've never heard anyone say "I could care less" in an actual conversation, it's like they know how ridiculous it sounds when they say it, but that same censor doesn't come out when typing.
I DON'T DO IT. I ONLY SHARE IT.

Needs a bookmark sync to be the winner
If only this had a bookmark sync or some way to import from firefox/chrome. Other than that this is definitely my favourite browser!
agreed about the import of bookmarks, I have been trying to do it for a while, found the .db file that holds the info but no real fast way of doing it batch style. Also the link to the original thread is down, Emailed the app developer about this. I would be using this for my galaxy note 10.1, found this thread on the google machine, not much about this app but I like that it has flash support

Firefox vs chrome vs Dilphin ..
Addons vs speed vs gestures, which is better in ur experience ?
I periodically try the others, but keep going back to Maxthon. Not much in the way of add-ons, but then I don't need much. The built-in "reader" mode works for most sites and gives an easy-to-read, clutter-free experience.
Boat browser, by far.

Tried a lot of browsers but stock browser is still my favourite by far. Its Quick Controls feature is something I can't live without.
I was actually getting fed up last night with chrome and chrome beta crashing every 2 seconds so i jumped on play store and grabbed a random browser just for fun, i found UC Browser HD and so far i absolutely love it! It works great in portrait and landscape and it feels like it loads pages really quick. Also, i almost forget to mention two finger swipe for adding and closing tabs and a handy little toolbar on the bottom right that you can add shortcuts to, right under where your right thumb usually rests.

I'd like to mention that for me UC browser was horrible because it spammed my devices. I complained directly in their forum and asked for ad free version but they don't have a pay version. So for me UC was out of the game.

I dont have time to get around and try every rom because of time and because i have 3 users on the device so restoring is a *****. If someone could pm me a rom that the aosp browser (not chrome) works good for them id appreciate it.

Well, I use ad blocker, too. When using UC Browser the first page/start screen showed always ads. To be true, if you're willing you can ignore it... but I am very sensitive to ads. They annoy me.
For all fans of Dolphin browser ->
read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319529
Right now I'm using stock CM browser.
The AOSP browser by a long mile, IMHO... Sure, the other browsers (Dolphin, Opera, Maxthon) might have more options (lots of bells and whistles), but AOSP has the edge in terms of speed and smoothness.
For anybody not rooted or unwilling to flash a custom ROM, then Lightning Browser is the next best thing to the AOSP browser... (IMHO, of course).

But on my n7, I use Firefox because of f-sync, add-ons and flash...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Tried almost all browsers in market and my favorite browser is AOSP browser love that speed and flash support. But sometime using Chrome because of browser sync feature is really useful.
How do I get firefox to work with flash ?
I tried installing the archived android flash from adobe website and nothing ?
I've recently switched to AOSP browser, and I'm happy with it.
I used chrome before, but got annoyed by those popup bubbles when clicking links, because it ended up showing a bubble EVERY time I'd click something.
And also I can't stand their text scaling, most signatures on XDA were MASSIVE while actual posts were tiny.
I tried other browsers as well, every one had something that bugged me (like swiping from one side would bring up a menu or such...)
I still use Firefox occasionally when chrome or AOSP won't download something or for very rare flash.
