Can anybody help me port team win's recovery?

Well,no offense,but no one would care to use it...We have CWM recovery,RZR recovery,CWM touch recovery and another recovery,forgot its name,but people still use the old and original CWM recovery.

I just bought a captivate. I rooted and unlocked it ( now t- mobile) . When I go to rom manager to make a recovery it doesn't recognize my device. Only gives option for i9000, epic, fascinate. What do I need to do to make a backup/ recovery?

Unfortunately there isn't an official clockworkmod recovery for the captivate. You'll need to either flash a kernel with cwm already embedded, or manually load up cwm on your SD card. What stock ROM are you on atm?

Sorry you sorta wrong on some things. There isn't official CWM for GB or Froyo. But there is for Eclair. Sounds like he is on GB at the moment. You are correct about having to flash a kernel with CWM in it.
I stand corrected...but yes unless your still on eclair or restore back to eclair, there isn't an official cwm

Yea, I am on GB 2.3.5 baseband UCKK4. I also have a vibrant.I am really surprised at how different the two phones are. I would like to put a custom rom on the cappy. What rom would you suggest? Kernel?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Suggesting ROMs ins't allow because you will most likely get arguing. Flash Corn Kernel and try out some custom stock ROMs if you don't know what you're doing. If you have an idea. I suggest ANY of the ICS ROMs
I would like a stable ICS rom. PM me with any suggestions.

Going through files in root browser I found a clockwork mod file. Also a zip vcremoveboot-CWM.zip. Not sure what it is? Ideas....

vcremoveboot is the revert zip for voltage control, in case you have unstable settings applied at boot.
Hey All
My GF has just brought a galaxy mini so i was planning on rooting it with this method:
Universal Gingerbread Root & Unroot 2.3.3 -> 2.3.7+
------
However i have a htc incredible and if you are only rooted you need to flash the boot.img in order to get a rom working. Unless you are S-OFF then you can boot a rom without flashing the boot.img and you can change radios etc.
How does it work over here with the galaxy mini?
Basically i want to;
root the phone
install CWM
Install a rom with decent battery life
If anybody can give me help on the above that would be great

On mini its much easyer then on htc phones! Just install cwm with odin or install squads cwm touch with stock recovery then install custom rom with cwm recovery! Almost all custom roms are pre rooted so no need to root when you want to install custom rom!!
Good luck buddy happy flashing

So are you saying I don't need to root the phone. Just cwm and custom roms are the only 2 things I need to do?

Yes exactly!!

That's ridiculous. To root my HTC I had to downgrade my hboot, create a gold card, unlock the bootloader then install cwm and roms. As well as numerous commands on CMD fastboot!

haha that's really it buddy.. it's so easy on the mini.. fastest way is to flash CWM touch by squadzone via stock recovery, choose a rom and flash it in CWM..
And if you wanted to just root the stock rom, you just install an update.zip (for rooting ofc) file from recovery and thats it. Samsungs are much easier
that why galaxy mini IS THE BEST..ALSO CHEAP PRICE ..
What is the most recent CWM that works with P1 t-mobile SFT?
Is anyone aware of a TWRP that works?
Links are appreciated in your reply or as a PM.

You know that recovery has to come with the kernel in this tab?
So it is best to stick to the one you have. Likely a cwm 5.5?

Can any one port TWRP recovery from gio. Gio have fully working TWRP recovery. Thanks
I think there's already a TWRP for our ace but it isn't fully working & as far as I remember it is even discontinued. CWM 5.0.2.6 is the best recovery, so stick to it. Do not experiment much, you might get into problems !!!
